Chapter 8 - Spar between Father and Son

Lord Arlott's grin grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Isn't that a bit rude?" he said, his tone dripping with mock reproach.

In a flash, he tossed a sword towards Leon, who lazily raised a hand to intercept it. But instead of catching the sword, Leon simply swatted it aside, letting it clatter to the ground.

Without a word, Leon launched himself at his father, fists flying in a flurry of precise, calculated movements. Lord Arlott's grin never wavered as he met Leon's attack with his own, the two of them clashing in a whirlwind of punches and kicks.

The sound of flesh meeting flesh echoed through the room, the only sound accompanying the intense, wordless exchange between father and son. Leon's movements were fluid and deadly, his fists striking with precision and power, but Lord Arlott matched him blow for blow.

'It seems Dad isn't using mana, in that case I'll also try not to use ki' He thought .

In a moment they both took steps back looking at each other without saying a word, taking a battle stance again.

While Arlott took swords master stance Leon took a unique martial artist stance back from earth.

Lord Arlott stood tall, his sword held firmly in his hand, its blade glinting in the dim light of the room. Leon, on the other hand, faced him with a calm, focused expression, his bare fists clenched at his sides.

As the spar began, Lord Arlott charged forward, his sword slicing through the air with deadly precision. Leon dodged and weaved, his bare hands flashing in swift, economical movements as he attempted to evade the blade. The sound of clashing air and the soft thud of footsteps echoed through the room as Leon danced around his father, his agility and quick reflexes allowing him to narrowly avoid the sword's deadly strikes.

Despite the uneven match, Leon seemed unfazed, his movements fluid and calculated as he searched for an opening to strike. Lord Arlott, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of steel and precision, his sword flashing in swift, deadly arcs as he pressed his advantage. The intensity of the spar was electric, with both father and son giving their all in a clash of skill and strategy.

As the fight raged on, both fighters were lost in their own world but Leon's punches were too fast and strong for Arlott to block.

Just then a smirk formed in Arlott lips, his eyes glowed, channelling his mana and causing a small shockwave.

This shockwave caused Leon to falter giving Arlott the edge .

"Hey, that's not fair" Leon said regaining his footing.

"Yes it isn't" Arlott said, blocking another punch from Leon.

"On the battlefield, there will be no fairness", he continued.

What was baffling him was the fact that this child if his was blocking his sword with his bare hand. Is he even human ?, not only that but adding the fact that Leon was fighting him on an equal footing, even outmaneuvering him.

At this rate he wasn't sure whether he will be able to defeat this kid if he used mana, and that strange energy of his, he called it ki.

...

As the spar ended, both father and son collapsed onto the training grounds, gasping for breath. Lord Arlott lay on his back, his sword lying beside him, and stared up at the ceiling, his mind racing. He couldn't help but think that his son was a monster, his abilities surpassing his own at an alarming rate.

As he caught his breath, Lord Arlott turned to Leon, a serious expression on his face. "Leon, I know you're only going tomorrow to look around but..." He paused .

Arlott met Leon's eyes

"Protect them for me will you ?"

Leon could only look at his father, afterall, what choice did he have ?, no matter how bad they all treated him he knew he still had to protect them, that was one of his principles,

Although, he wouldn't accept Julian tho...

"Yes father" he replied

...

It was already morning and Leon was excited, after all, this was the first time he was stepping outside his home, he'd only sightsee for now afterall he had high hopes for today's journey.

Getting up from his bed again, he still didn't notice he quickly dressed up, today was the day, it was rare for him to get this pumped up, he quickly had to dress up.

Afterall, unlike his other siblings, he didn't have a maid .

Upon getting outside, he noticed that his siblings were prepared.

While Lena had the rapier he gave her sheated, her raven hair, a striking difference to his white hair and she wore a fitting black armor.

Julian on the other hand wore a light armor, strapping Greatsword on his back, there was no sign that this weapon was held by a seven year old.

Along with his twin, Lily, their dark hairs and armors were quite similar, however, he had a bow instead of a sword, probably because she was a ranger .

As he made contact with them, Lena quickly approached Leon, Leon on the other hand was just wearing a normal piece of cloth, no weapon no gear .
