April felt her heart in her mouth as the elevator went down. They couldn't possibly be searching for Kyle. She had to be the one. Kyle had committed no offence, instead she was the guilty one here. Immediately they got to the ground floor, he hastily led her to the garage, where they hid behind an abandoned spoilt car in the dark shadows. The man emerged, looking left and right, his eyes darting here and there. April struggled to steady her breath as he approached their corner after walking round as if in a circle. The garage was not a big one. Just big enough to hold about a dozen cars. The closer he came, the more they held their breath till he approached them. Kyle glanced around for any nearby tool or weapon.
"Are you looking for someone?" A new voice suddenly asked. It was one of the neighbours; an elderly woman who had just returned from work.
