Xi Lan looked up at Rong Kai in the tree. Her voice wasn't loud, but it carried clearly through the forest breeze. "Aren't you coming down for a drink?"
Her gaze fell upon the high branches, where a slender figure sat, wrapped in a dark cloak, her face half-hidden in shadow.
Rong Kai's eyes were closed. She leaned quietly against a thick branch, her body swaying gently with the breeze as if she had become one with the ancient tree.
Her breathing was steady and deep, a hint of weariness in her features. She was so still, it looked as if she were truly asleep.
Seeing this, Xi Lan didn't press the matter, casting only a single glance before looking away.
