"Stop right there!"
Chu Jing's expression immediately turned serious, her face stern.
"Don't give me that. I'm not interested in your promises, so don't make it sound so serious."
She paused, her tone softening.
"I just want you to bring me some pearls. Regular South Pearls are fine, but it'd be best if they're good quality. A few Luminous Pearls would be even better. Don't get ones that are too small—I want the kind that can light up an entire patch of sea."
"That's it?"
Lan Jin's pupils constricted, his face a mask of disbelief.
'This request is far too small, isn't it? It's not at all what I'd expect a female beast like her to ask for.'
Then he looked down and saw Chu Jing squatting on the ground, tracing a clear, circular outline with her fingertip.
His initial suspicion instantly turned to shock.
'That circle is absurdly large!'
Its diameter had to be at least ten paces.
Lan Jin froze, a sudden feeling that he'd been tricked washing over him.
