The moment he heard that Lin Hui had been crying, Ming Luo's heart seized.
His voice grew deep and cold.
"What exactly happened to her? Make yourself clear."
Chu Jing suppressed a smile and spoke in a gentle tone.
"This isn't the place to talk. Let's go outside. I don't want her to overhear and have it affect her recovery."
Her words stopped Ming Luo's urge to press her for answers right then and there.
He looked at Chu Jing, then glanced back at the unconscious Lin Hui inside the room.
Finally, he nodded and followed Chu Jing outside.
They stopped in a patch of shade nearby.
Ming Luo scanned the area. Once he confirmed they were alone, he turned to Chu Jing.
"Whatever you have to say, just say it. I'll do anything, no matter the cost, as long as it helps Lin Hui."
