Hearing the kitchen doorknob turn, he immediately sat up straight. He then stood, and upon seeing Wyatt Winslow emerge from the kitchen, he blurted out, "Dad, I'll help you."
Hearing the word "Dad," Holly suppressed a laugh and shot Mortimer a look that screamed, 'You're dead meat.'
Mortimer, realizing what he'd just said, was speechless. "…"
