Chapter 2 - Accumulating Good Fortune for Oneself

The space was entirely white. She tried to move forward but hit a wall at every turn. The ten-foot-square area was completely empty. After fumbling around for a long time, she finally touched a secret door, revealing a booklet inside.

As she opened it and flipped through the pages, Ye Qianning finally understood. What she had was a portable space, where any plants grown inside would grow at a rapid pace.

However, the space needed to be nurtured.

Only by nurturing it well would the land expand. As for *how* to nurture it...

It required accumulating blessings. The space was like a living organism; when you helped someone and received their sincere gratitude, the space's blessing points would increase.

Expanding the space by one plot of land required one hundred blessing points, and the amount of points earned from a good deed depended on the person she helped.

"Holy crap—"

Ye Qianning almost laughed.

She had been no saint in her past life. Because she could understand the voices of animals, she was sent to a secret base for training as a child. At the age of twelve, she was drafted into a global organization for those with supernatural abilities.

By the time she reached her twenties, she had stolen top secrets from many nations and had even brought several countries to ruin.

'And now I'm supposed to do good deeds? Is this my punishment for all the sins of my past life? Was I reincarnated just to be punished?'

But if she didn't accumulate blessings for herself, she was afraid she wouldn't live for long. Her body and the space were inextricably linked; the better the space was nurtured, the longer she would live.

'This method of nurturing the space is truly bizarre. Blessings? Hah!'

They say that when heaven opens a window for you, it also closes another.

In her past life, she had only lived to twenty-two. Supernatural abilities consumed a person's spiritual power. Once it was completely depleted, death would follow... The lives of those with such abilities were never long.

Ye Qianning emerged from the space and stared blankly at the canopy of her bed. 'Is being reborn with two different supernatural abilities a blessing or a curse?'

The next day, Ye Qianning was already able to get out of bed and walk around. Her complexion was much ruddier than it had been a few days prior. Overjoyed, Fourth Granny brewed another large bowl of medicine for her first thing in the morning.

"The authorities in the Capital City are so reliable. The doctor they sent is a true miracle worker," Fourth Granny said, full of praise as she stirred the medicinal soup with a spoon.

Ye Qianning woke up feeling significantly lighter. 'It's probably because I activated the space yesterday. But to recover completely, I'll first have to develop a plot of land inside it.'

'How do I get blessing points?'

"Pangtuan, don't just space out. Finish your food; you still have to drink your medicine," Fourth Granny said, putting down the spoon and handing her a steamed bun.

Ye Qianning took the bun and had a small bite before looking up. "Fourth Granny, I'm all better now. Can we go out and look around after I finish eating?"

"Absolutely not. You're only just starting to get better. It's not a good idea for you to go out."

"Let's just go take a look, please? I heard the Capital City is so lively, Fourth Granny..." Ye Qianning wheedled, her voice soft and sweet. She might as well use the fact that she was just a little kid.

Fourth Granny really didn't want her wandering about, but she couldn't resist the cute child's wheedling. "You little rascal, you've got me all figured out."

Her little ploy having succeeded, Ye Qianning giggled. "Fourth Granny is the best!"

"Drink your medicine first." Before her smile could even fade, Fourth Granny placed the bowl of medicine right in front of her.

The blossoming smile on Ye Qianning's face instantly collapsed. She mumbled, "But I'm all better. I don't need to drink medicine anymore."

'After being forced to drink herbal medicine for days on end, I feel like the medicine itself is going to make me sick, even if I wasn't already.'

"If you don't drink it, we're not going out today," Fourth Granny stated.

Ye Qianning frowned, glaring at the dark concoction as if it were her mortal enemy. Gritting her teeth, she picked up the bowl with her chubby little hands and gulped it all down in one go.

A doting smile appeared on Fourth Granny's face as she thoughtfully took out a handkerchief and wiped the corners of Ye Qianning's mouth.

Ye Qianning felt that Fourth Granny was closer to her than her own mother.

Fourth Granny had been caring for her for as long as the body's original owner could remember. All those little moments from the past caused a strange fondness to bloom in Ye Qianning's heart for the woman before her.
