Li Ming suddenly looked up, and for a moment, the way he looked at Gu Xi was strange.
After a long moment, he nodded. "There was someone like that. But, if I remember correctly, you were less than two years old when that Mr. Ye had his accident, right?" 'Maybe even younger?'
"Then how did the accident happen?" Gu Xi asked again, her eyes lowered as she fiddled with a small green sprout.
Li Ming looked down, hiding the complex emotions in his eyes. "I only remember that Mr. Ye suddenly vanished from the base back then. Later, I vaguely heard that he'd had some sort of accident, but I don't know the specifics."
After all, he was just a six or seven-year-old child at the time. No matter how smart or precocious he was, there was only so much he could have known.
"But I remember..." Gu Xi frowned slightly, tilting her head to look at him, uncertain. "There seemed to be an older boy with him. That boy was very pretty. I think he even held me and gave me candy?"
