Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Immortan Old Joe

Chapter 101: Immortan Old Joe

"However, that's not what we should be talking about right now."

Jake pointed to the corpse of the War Boy on the ground. "I just killed those fanatics, and they must have seen that, right?"

Furiosa, true to her warrior nature, quickly recovered from her amazement at the sweet, clean water and frowned thoughtfully, looking at Jake. "So? You want me to tie you up and take you inside?"

Having witnessed Jake's formidable fighting prowess, Furiosa instantly understood his intentions.

"That's right!" Jake nodded. "As long as you take me inside and get close to Immortan Joe, I can kill him instantly. Those fanatics covered with white paint are nothing to worry about. How about it?"

Although she didn't quite believe Jake could face hundreds of War Boys alone, this was a worthwhile gamble. Anyway, Furiosa had already decided to escape during the transaction this afternoon, so she was prepared to try it out. If it didn't work, she could always run away as planned.

Even if the assassination failed, she could distance herself from it. The War Boys who knew about their deal were already dead, and even if someone in the distance saw it through binoculars, it wouldn't matter.

This clean stranger's fate was no longer her concern. If successful, he could replace Immortan Joe and continue ruling, whatever. If he failed, remembering Immortan Joe's ruthless methods, he would likely die.

"Alright," Furiosa said, throwing a punch.

"Damn, you're really direct," Jake stepped back to dodge the heavy blow.

Just then, the roar of an engine sounded in the distance; clearly, he had to lose to Furiosa before those people arrived...

...

Half an hour later, Jake's hands were tightly bound with rope, and he was escorted by two War Boys into Immortan Joe's stronghold.

Furiosa led the way, carrying a large black duffel bag containing food Jake had prepared for this world, two shotguns, and some ammunition.

These were spoils of war.

As for the two pistols hidden in Jake's sleeves, neither he nor Furiosa mentioned them; after all, they were his last resort. Without them, his gun-fu skills were useless.

Within this stronghold, Furiosa wielded considerable authority, and many didn't dare to stop her.

However, Jake's clean appearance attracted the attention of several women with deformed features. Judging from the appearances of Immortan Joe's five wives in the movies, it was clear that the aesthetic standards of this world weren't completely distorted.

Clearly, Jake was quite handsome, especially in a world where people were already deformed and scarred.

Fortunately, Furiosa intervened in time to deter them; otherwise, Jake would have needed to take several showers to shake off his revulsion.

A few minutes later, led by Furiosa, Jake arrived at the heart of the territory, a place filled with grotesquely shaped slaves, with three towering rock formations in front.

Looking at the slaves so close, Jake found he couldn't completely ignore the scene. Although he killed, he only killed those who deserved it, and his conscience was clear. However, when his gaze fell upon these slaves, the lifelessness in their eyes, the lack of hope for tomorrow, still moved him.

He was, after all, still someone with normal values from modern society. As a kid, he'd grown up with ideals about making the world better. While he had changed somewhat, not by much; otherwise, he could have used even more violent methods in some worlds.

Immortan Joe controlled the water source, had followers like the War Boys, and tens of thousands of slaves. Perhaps he could have worked harder, like creating that small botanical garden on the mountaintop, ensuring everyone had food. But he didn't.

The very establishment of Valhalla reveals Immortan Joe's obsession with immortality and godhood. He resembles a cult leader from history, manipulating people's hearts to achieve his ambitions.

While hypnosis also involves controlling people, it appears far more benign by comparison.

However, Furiosa and Jake failed to meet Immortan Joe immediately. Just as they were about to ascend the elevator to the rock formation where he resided, several War Boys stopped them.

At this moment, Furiosa displayed her usual authority, and after a few sharp rebukes, the War Boys yielded.

This is the apocalypse; any woman with even a little beauty is seized and kept as a plaything by rulers like Immortan Joe.

Furiosa's beauty is undeniable; her features far surpass those of Immortan Joe's five wives. However, she didn't rely on her looks to survive in this world. Instead, she shaved her head, blackened her face, and fought her way to her current position.

No matter what happened in between, it couldn't hide the fact that she was a strong woman.

The two stepped onto the elevator, and with the clattering of the gears, they slowly rose.

And Immortan Joe was right in front of them...

"Hehe, Imperator, who is this guy?" A large, brutish man emerged from the cave, looked at Furiosa, and then pointed at Jake.

"A prisoner." Furiosa glanced at the brute, her expression unreadable.

"Then he'll be the boys' blood bag, what's he doing here?" The brute was puzzled.

This must be Immortan Joe's dimwitted son, Rictus Erectus.

"Because when I captured him, there was something." Furiosa knew this idiot wouldn't be easy to deal with; idiots are always single-minded. She took out a small piece of candy from her bag.

Judging from her expression, she had obviously eaten this kind of candy before, and even liked it. She was a little reluctant to give one to an idiot like this.

"He has this stuff on him, maybe he'll know where there's more. We need Immortan Joe to interrogate him."

The brute rubbed his bald head with his left hand, took the candy, and threw it directly into his mouth without even removing the wrapper.

His teeth were like steel; the candy wrapper didn't even pose a hindrance. After a couple of difficult chews, he swallowed it whole. The brute suddenly laughed, "This stuff is really good, just a little hard to chew."

With a bribe of a piece of candy, the two successfully got past Rictus.

Jake always believed that money made the world go round, and even a fool couldn't resist the right incentive. The reason someone refuses your offer might be that you haven't offered what they want.

Under the watchful eyes of a group of War Boys, Jake continued to follow Furiosa. Soon they entered the cave and arrived at a large hall.

This cave was cleverly excavated. The curved design not only made the entire cave more sturdy, but also, due to the unique layout and ventilation openings, the temperature inside the cave was comfortable, a world apart from the high temperature outside.

In the very center of the hall, Jake saw Immortan Joe.

He sat casually on a metal platform, his throne, his entire body painted white, looking down at Jake.

"This is you..." His voice was hoarse as he opened his mouth to interrogate Jake.

But at that moment, Jake suddenly leaped into the air.

His legs crouched in mid-air, passing through his locked arms, and like jumping rope, he brought his hands, which had been behind his back, to his front.

In mid-air, he exerted tremendous force, instantly ripping the rope apart!

The surrounding War Boys were startled and tried to subdue Jake.

But before his feet even touched the ground, Jake had already grabbed the two pistols hidden in his sleeves.

Flames shot from the muzzles, instantly cutting down the War Boys who tried to attack!

A dozen shots rang out in quick succession, and bodies littered the ground!

Immortan Joe, of course, wasn't easily intimidated. He roared hoarsely, trying to rouse more War Boys to finish off Jake.

But the power of fully executed gun-fu after landing was beyond the comprehension of these screaming fanatics.

There weren't many War Boys present; after all, it was Immortan Joe's own hall, and there were only about thirty of them.

After Jake instantly killed over a dozen of them, these War Boys weren't afraid; instead, they were energized and charged forward even more fiercely.

Facing these close-range targets, Jake showed no mercy.

His bullets ran out in seconds.

"Throw the bag over here!" Jake swung his gun, knocking down one of the men blocking his path between himself and Furiosa.

Furiosa obediently threw the bag, which arced through the air before Jake caught it securely.

"Get down!" he yelled, instantly opening the bag and pulling out a shotgun, already fully loaded and ready to use.

Without hesitation, Furiosa dropped to the ground.

At such close range, a shotgun was a devastating weapon!

Bang!

Several War Boys at close range were riddled with buckshot!

Dense spray of blood erupted from the bodies, striking those who followed and staining their pale skin crimson.

But more and more people gathered around, and it was clear that with his hands gripping the shotgun, he would ultimately be forced into hand-to-hand combat.

Would Jake really be limited?

Amidst the incredulous gazes of the surrounding crowd, Jake suddenly grabbed the barrel with his left hand, swung it behind him, and caught it with his right!

Bang!

Without even turning around, four or five War Boys were instantly killed!

But this wasn't the end. Jake grabbed the stock with his right hand, swung it to the left, and another bang.

His left-right switching speed increased rapidly, appearing as if he were wielding nunchucks, while the buckshot became omnidirectional, radiating outwards from him!

This miraculous use of firearms caused devastating damage; one man had killed nearly ninety percent of the War Boys present!

The remaining few were no longer a threat.

He casually tossed the empty shotgun to the ground, and looking up, he saw Immortan Joe trying to escape.

How could he let him get away?

Jake rushed forward, reaching Immortan Joe in a few strides, grabbing his white hair and yanking!

The ugly, pale, diseased man fell to the ground, groaning in pain.

"Although I want to eliminate you on behalf of everyone right now, your life can't be wasted like this," Jake said, bending down to pull Immortan Joe to his feet and carrying him out of the cave.
