Chapter 1 - synopsis

He has mastered the art of indifference.

To the world, he is distant, composed, untouched by emotion—someone who walks through life without forming attachments, without looking back. Love, to him, is an unnecessary risk, a weakness he buried long ago beneath silence and control.

She was never supposed to matter.

She doesn't demand his warmth or ask him to change. She exists beside him—soft but unyielding, observant enough to notice the quiet ways he shields himself from feeling. Where others retreat from his coldness, she stays, not to fix him, but to understand him.

Against his will, she becomes the one presence he cannot ignore.

What begins as guarded proximity turns into something fragile and dangerous—stolen moments, unspoken emotions, and a connection he refuses to name. The more he feels, the more he pulls away, convinced that loving her will destroy what little control he has left.

But love does not disappear simply because it is denied.

When his fear finally costs him the one person who saw him clearly, he must confront the truth he's been running from: some hearts do not break from loving—but from never daring to.

This is a story of quiet devotion, emotional restraint, and the kind of love that does not beg to be felt… yet changes everything once it is.
