Chapter 126 - Ch. 126: Risa’s Updates (2)

"Wait, Reyheim was called back to Lubelius?" Rimuru asked, "How's he doing, Diablo?"

Diablo beamed, happy that Big Bro had addressed him, even if it was to talk about some ant under his complete, oppressive control via his Tempter Unique Skill.

"Reyheim has successfully reached the capitol of Englesia, and has requested the use of their teleportation gates. He will likely reach the Holy City of Lubelius within a few days." Big Bro nodded.

"Keep me updated. I want to know what they'll focus on asking, once Reyheim enters the city." Rimuru told Diablo.

"Are you certain that it's a good idea to refrain from placing limitations on what all he can tell them, my lord?" Diablo asked, "I could still do so, if you desire."

Rimuru shook his slime body in Shion's arms. "I don't want to hide anything. I still think we have a chance at having good relations with the church. If that doesn't happen, then Luminous and I'll deal with it personally, like real Demon Lords." He explained.

I mentally shrugged. The fact of the matter was, even among the Octogram, the only ones that I honestly felt much real danger from, were we to fight head-on, were Milim and Guy.

The rest were… kinda meh.

A full power Ramiris would be a threat, though.

Daggrull and Leon had pretty impressive raw power, but honestly, felt a bit 'one-note' for my tastes, from what I noticed when meeting them face to face. You break through Daggrull's defenses, he basically didn't really have much else, and then there were Leon, whose skill I felt confident that I could pretty much completely nullify, and Dino, who honestly just didn't feel all that strong. Like… the guy was barely on the Ultimate level at all.

And Luminous wasn't. She was close, but definitely the weakest member of the Octogram right now. I was sure that she had quite the cabinet, and could beat even Benimaru with little effort, but no matter how much support, power she had, she wasn't really a threat to people on True Dragon level, like Big Bro and I.

Maybe if she really tried, she'd be able to put up an equal fight with Leon and Daggrull… but even that would be destroying her normal limitations, something that wasn't as easy as it sounded. I was perfectly fine letting Big Bro decide what to do with them.

If a war started, we'd just end it.

So with that, my own report on the state of affairs within New Farminus continued where it'd left off.

So, I'd left Victor in charge of educating New Farminus's main governing body.

Yeah, that was, the trio of children. Around the streets, people were beginning to call them the Lords of New Farminus.

The new king, Edgar, was smart, whip smart, especially for a kid, but he was way too timid. The fact that he'd once been a bit too inflexible, too, had been fixed by the people around him, but the timidity meant that he'd never be a king who stood on the front lines during wartime, despite the fact that he was, with his Superior Water Elemental partner, at least as strong as a support-oriented B-ranked adventurer.

Then, there was Flora. Willful and driven, but a bit too so, sometimes. She wasn't as smart as the other two Lords, but she mostly made up for it with sheer force of willpower. She tended to act as the driving force of change between the three of them, while Edgar acted as the voice of reason. She was the one who'd originally proposed the idea of an art school, after Victor had offered them bits and pieces of Earth culture pulled from Mnemosyne and filtered through Isis (Rimuru yelled at me for using Isis for something so stupid, but he was no better!).

She tended to ignore the opinions of others, though. Still, she was incredibly skilled with her Superior Spirit partner, Aeris, and was above and beyond impressive for some random kid we'd just randomly pulled out of the church to act as a bridge between the old and the new.

She needed a bit more experience, but luckily, there was Luka.

…Luka. That preteen was a definite diamond in the rough. We were honestly incredibly lucky to find him among all of those servants that'd been treated horribly by all of those random idiot noble criminals that Sadie, Victor, and Bade had been sent in to kill.

We'd given him his current place in the government because he was actually the illegitimate son of Earl Nidol Migam. Apparently, the Earl had been embarrassed about the kid's existence at all, but the fact remained that Luka was his son, and therefore had been in his line of succession, though low on that line.

As such, despite being treated like utter and absolute garbage, Luka had received a basic education, at least. A kid with a good head on his shoulder and a basic education, in Farmus, was incredibly difficult to find.

But what not even I had expected was just how talented Luka was. The kid didn't have any Unique skills, but his soul was unusually strong, and his mind was sharp as a blade. He wasn't quite as smart as Edgar, but Luka had incredible charisma, and his ability to work with the Superior Earth Spirit, Terra, that lived inside him was enough to even stall the Dirt Golem Razen, who was still just as strong as he'd been as a human, a verified Champion.

Where Flora pushed for the ideas and Edgar shot them down, Luka made the compromised ideas into reality. Already, he was handpicking recruits from their army in order to later turn them into elementalists and create a smaller, elite force of highly skilled, human Champions, and he'd even begun subtly buying off certain merchants that did regular business with the surrounding nations in order to gather information on his own, expecting them to make their move against New Farminus, since directly attacking Tempest would be pointless. It was a similar line of thinking to mine.

For a kid who was addicted to watching the old anime 'Adventures of a Teenage Gnome' that Isis had pieced together from random mutterings that Satoru Mikami had vaguely heard over the course of his life, though never actually seen, through the Tempest Orb that I'd granted to Victor, it was truly impressive deductive reasoning.

Especially since it was true.
