Chapter 87 - Chapter 88

Chapter 88 The Morbid Love for Dragons Finally Shattered

"A trade?" Apollo raised an eyebrow.

It was interesting that someone from the League would actively seek a trade with Team Rocket.

"What kind of trade do you want?" Apollo asked with interest, looking at Bai Yu. "If you want information about Team Rocket, you should give up on that idea. I won't tell you."

"I have no interest in Team Rocket what I want. I want a Master Ball." Bai Yu spoke the last three words very softly, so much so that even Sabrina, standing next to him, didn't hear them clearly.

Red stood to the side, his mind preoccupied with team compositions.

The loss in that match had intensified Red's interest in collecting Pokémon.

Being able to handle different team compositions would give his team more options.

Red was just like that, a hothead like Ash. Besides, Apollo and the others had Bai Yu watching them. With their hands bound and their Pokémon unable to battle, how could they possibly grow wings and fly away?

"A Master Ball!" Apollo's eyes were filled with disbelief.

This guy actually wanted a Master Ball.

Wasn't this guy from the League?

Besides, he's just a gym leader from a small town in the League. Someone like that wants a Master Ball?

  Wait…

how could a small gym leader possibly possess that kind of power?

Could this guy be a spy sent from another region?

Apollo looked at Bai Yu with a strange gaze.

Among the gym leaders in the Kanto Region, there are only a few who are truly strong. Bai Yu's strength is in no way inferior to those guys; in fact, he puts even more pressure on Apollo than they do.

Such strength is unheard of before; he doesn't know where it came from.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Bai Yu was taken aback. He had only mentioned the Master Ball, and this guy's gaze had changed several times, from shock to disbelief, and then to relief…

Could this guy be a G…?

  Probably not.

Bai Yu subconsciously took a step back; he had absolutely no interest in this.

  "Why are you backing away?"

"What do you want in exchange?"

Apollo felt that Bai Yu's gaze was a little strange.

  "You have a Master Ball?"

Bai Yu knew immediately that this guy had something good.

As a high-ranking member of Team Rocket, the first priority upon infiltrating was to locate the mission target.

There weren't many Master Balls in the entire Silver Corporation building.

  Apollo definitely had one.

Just as Bai Yu had expected, Apollo entered Silver Corporation and swept through, naturally taking control of the research area immediately and taking the Master Ball placed there.

He had originally intended to use that Master Ball to make amends, but unexpectedly… he encountered that freak, Red, during his escape.

  "What can you give me?"

Apollo didn't answer; he wanted to know what Bai Yu could offer.

Bai Yu quickly spoke with Apollo, telling him some information.

Upon hearing this, Apollo's eyes narrowed. He couldn't believe such information existed; it was undoubtedly a devastating threat to the entire Team Rocket.

  How did this guy know?

"Is the information reliable?" Apollo wasn't sure. If this information were told to Giovanni, it would definitely cause a storm, affecting not only the Kanto Region but also the Johto Region.

"You'll find out when you get back," Bai Yu said, waving his hand dismissively.

Upon hearing this, Apollo fell silent. He dared not gamble on the veracity of the information.

Just as Bai Yu had said, he only needed to return to Team Rocket and gather some information to quickly ascertain the truth of the matter. However, the fact that such information could come from a Gym Leader—

and a Gym Leader from the Kanto Region at that— meant that

this guy harbored a major secret and was definitely not as simple as he appeared.

After revealing the location of the Master Ball, Apollo left Silver Tower with Red.

As high-ranking members of Team Rocket, they would naturally be imprisoned in Goldenrod City Prison.

However, whether Goldenrod City Prison could hold these two was uncertain.

Team Rocket wouldn't need to expend much effort to rescue them, especially since this was Goldenrod City. Team Rocket could enter Goldenrod City silently, and they could certainly rescue their members silently as well.

  "What did you ask?"

Sabrina was a little curious. Bai Yu and Team Rocket shouldn't have any connection.

She hadn't heard very clearly just now, only knowing that the two were making some kind of deal. What kind of deal could have made Apollo show that expression?

"I just inquired about the Master Ball," Bai Yu said with a light laugh. "Master Balls are incredibly rare, and getting one here would save a lot of trouble."

Sabrina nodded without objecting; after all, the ability to capture all Pokémon in the world was enough to make many trainers scramble for it.

Perhaps because she had previously joined Team Rocket and their philosophies differed somewhat from the League's, Sabrina didn't find anything amiss and followed Bai Yu in one direction.

As for the high-ranking officers of Team Rocket, they were naturally under Red's control. After the police arrived upstairs, they were handed over to the police and then imprisoned in the Goldenrod City Jail.

Bai Yu had just left the Silver Tower and looked up at the iconic building of the Kanto Region, which was almost reduced to ruins in a single day. The security situation

in Goldenrod City had also been thrown into chaos by Team Rocket. Fortunately, Bai Yu had found the Master Ball that Apollo had placed inside the building, thus achieving his goal of going to Goldenrod City. As for whether the Silver Tower could be restored, it wasn't really Bai Yu's concern.

Those evil capitalists wouldn't need much time to repair such a building.

"Bai Yu, you just came down from up there. Did you see Red?"

From the crowd, Gary jogged up, his eyes gleaming as he asked.

Gary had already guessed that Bai Yu wouldn't stand idly by; he must have already gone into the Silver Tower to deal with the Team Rocket members. Sure enough, he was right.

"Red's still up there. You know his strength."

Bai Yu patted Gary's shoulder and then left.

The battle had drained a lot of Electivire's stamina. He needed to rest at the Pokémon Center. He had to return to Marsh City tomorrow. As for the rest of the matter, Bai Yu trusted Lance to handle it.

He was still a Dragon Tamer… the leader of the Kanto Elite Four. Just

as Bai Yu was about to leave, Lance, riding a Dragonite, descended from the sky.

After Giovanni left, Lance used an antidote to neutralize the poison on Silver Tower's president and then left the office, but his departure was somewhat unusual.

"Are you the Gym Leader?" Lance asked, pausing.

He had also heard from Kikuko and Kona that a pretty good gym leader had appeared in the Kanto Region.

Lance had just realized that the other person's age matched, only the Pokémon they used were different.

"White Feather, Gym Leader of Macha City. Greetings, Elite Four member." Kanto

wasn't Johto, so White Feather could address Lance as either Champion or Elite Four member.

Of course, Lance preferred to be called Champion Lance.

After all, he was the Johto League Champion.

"Hmm~" Lance nodded and said, "Your strength is quite impressive. Are you interested in becoming a League Elite Four member?"

Lance had witnessed White Feather's strength firsthand. He had only invited Sabrina earlier because he wasn't sure of White Feather's identity. Now that White Feather's identity was clear, Lance naturally extended an invitation.

There was no other way; the Johto League Elite Four position was extremely scarce.

The Kanto League also lacked an Elite Four member to some extent. After becoming the Johto League Champion, Lance had lost some interest in the Kanto Elite Four position.

If the Kanto League hadn't been struggling to find a suitable candidate, he would have resigned from the Elite Four position long ago.

It saved him from being constantly called Elite Four member by certain people.

"Elite Four... I have no interest in Elite Four." Bai Yu raised an eyebrow, his eyes taking in a more intriguing look at Lance. "Rather than becoming Elite Four, I'd rather be a Champion. Doesn't the Kanto League need a League Champion?"

  "Interesting~"

Lance suddenly let out a cold laugh, his gaze sharp as he stared at Bai Yu.

This guy's personality is different from others.

Interesting, he doesn't want to be Elite Four, but rather a League Champion.

Arrogant... But Lance likes arrogant trainers like this. If he weren't so arrogant, Lance would look down on Bai Yu. How could someone without ambition become an excellent trainer?

It's a pity... he doesn't possess any special abilities.

Viridian Power, psychic abilities, and other special abilities accelerate a trainer's growth. Without special abilities, Bai Yu will need a very, very long time to grow.

  "Do you like dragons?"

Lance asked seemingly out of the blue.

  "Dragon-type Pokémon?"

Bai Yu looked at Lance, recalling the latter's obsessive love for Dragon-type Pokémon in the special episode, and seemed to realize something. However... compared to Dragon-type, Bai Yu preferred Steel-type, and if it were mixed with Fairy-type, it would be even better.

"Yes, Dragons! Dragons that wield destruction, devastation, and tyranny."

"Junior, you must know that the most powerful type in the entire world is Dragon-type. Your Electric-type, Steel-type, and other messy types will eventually become obstacles in your path." "

If you don't have a Dragon-type Pokémon, I can give you one. Of course... this is also a reward you deserve for saving Goldenrod City."

Lance's crimson eyes held an almost morbid love for dragons.

His fondness for Dragon-type Pokémon was known to almost half of the trainers in the Kanto Region.

Unfortunately… there are very few Dragon-type Pokémon in the Kanto and Johto regions, and even the scum of the Dragon race is rarely seen. Lance will need more time to cultivate the most perfect Dragon army…

"Ahem, I have a Dragon-type Pokémon. A Dratini." Bai Yu said, taking out a Poké Ball. A flash of white light appeared, and Dratini appeared before Lance.

Dratini quietly perched on Bai Yu's shoulder, tilting its head to look at Lance. Perhaps frightened by Lance's gaze, Dratini immediately scurried into Bai Yu's clothes.

  "Hiss~"

Dratini's body trembled incessantly, occasionally letting out a frightened sound.

"You…you seem to have frightened it." Bai Yu said somewhat awkwardly. Lance

didn't speak. Bai Yu seemed to hear the sound of something breaking.

  "Lance…Lance?!"

  "Lance…are you alright?"

  "…"

Lance just stood there, his eyes vacant as if he had lost consciousness, standing there blankly. No matter how Bai Yu called him, he couldn't wake Lance.

After what seemed like an eternity, Lance finally recovered. He reached out and patted Bai Yu on the shoulder, saying, "The League will give you a reward for resolving the crisis in Goldenrod City. Someone will deliver it to the Macha Gym."

For some reason, Bai Yu felt a shadow loomed over Lance's figure. His cloak didn't seem as imposing as before, and his entire aura seemed to have waned.

That guy's Dratini was afraid of me?

A Dragon-type Pokémon actually feared me? I love dragons so much, and I've spent so much effort training my dragon army.

And today I saw a dragon afraid of me.

Damn it… It's all because of those rats! If I hadn't picked up their scent, this wouldn't have happened.

It must be because of those rats!

Lance was certain of his thoughts. It wasn't because of him, but because he had picked up Team Rocket's scent. That was it.

"I feel like he's acting strange," Sabrina said, approaching. She had also overheard the conversation between Bai Yu and Lance; it seemed quite normal.

After Bai Yu released Dratini, she felt that Lance seemed like a different person. His previous arrogant and haughty aura had vanished completely.

Bai Yu shook her head; who knew what had gotten into that madman today?

Lance's obsession with Dragon-type Pokémon surpassed that of anyone else, no less than Ash's, and perhaps even more fanatical. As for other Pokémon, unless their names contained "Dragon,"

Lance wouldn't even glance at them.

News of the Team Rocket attack on the Silph Corporation headquarters quickly spread throughout Kanto and even the Johto Region, reaching distant areas as well.

That was the Silph Corporation headquarters, an enterprise spanning the entire Pokémon world; the impact of an incident on such an enterprise was unimaginable.

That same night, news of two high-ranking Team Rocket executives escaping from Goldenrod City prison also caused quite a stir.

  Johto Region.

  Kaji Town.

In this town, perpetually covered in snow and ice, sparsely populated and with the entire sky blanketed in ice and snow, one can find a gym—a renowned gym throughout the Johto Region.

Inside the gym, numerous ice sculptures are displayed, so lifelike they seem like real Pokémon, casually placed within the space.

A Slime statue, posed in a peculiar way, sits in the very center of the gym.

"Master Ball." An elderly man with white hair sat in a wheelchair, a Poké Ball clutched in his hand, a shadow of gloom in his eyes. "Unfortunately, it was too late."

"It's time to make a move."

"Rainbow Feather and Silver Feather were stolen. It took considerable effort to find out about her. We can't afford to fail again this time."

The old man spoke these words to himself. Behind the ice sculpture stood a man wearing a half-mask, a dark glint in his eyes.
