Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 Natagumo Mountain

The wind whipped the treetops, snowflakes dancing in the breeze.

  *Crunch, crunch.*

Aoki trudged along the rugged mountain path as if it were flat ground, leaving a long trail of footprints in the snow.

  *Whoosh!*

Beside the footprints, a patch of snow-covered grass swayed gently, and a monster with a human head and a spider's body emerged, its eight legs slightly bent as it lunged at Aoki's back.

Aoki suddenly turned and slapped down.

  *Bang!*

The human-headed spider screamed and flew through the air, crashing heavily into a large tree.

After recognizing what had attacked him, Aoki couldn't help but frown.

These human-headed spiders looked eerie and terrifying, but he knew they were originally human, transformed by the poison of the demon.

  *Whoosh.*

Suddenly, a large number of human-headed spiders swarmed in from all directions, surrounding Aoki.

Aoki ignored them and looked up.

A wooden hut was suspended in mid-air by transparent threads, and several people, their bodies shrunken and transforming into spiders, hung from the threads connecting it to the nearby trees.

  *Crackling sounds*.

A monster slowly crawled out of the suspended hut. It too had a human head and a spider's body, but its size was even larger than an ordinary human.

There were five demons on Mount Natagumo: Lower Rank Five Rui and four demons impersonating his family.

This spider demon was Rui's brother.

And the culprit who created those human-headed spiders!

  "Why is it a demon?"

The spider demon looked disappointed, opening its mouth: "You…"

Suddenly, Aoki appeared above the spider demon and stomped down.

  *Bang! Bang! Bang!*

The spider silk snapped, the hut collapsed, and the spider demon, trampled by Aoki, plummeted like a meteor.

  *Boom!

  * The spider demon's body severed in half, spitting out a mouthful of blood. It turned to look at Aoki, its expression one of utter horror.

  "You're a traitor!"

The traitor who can suppress demons' regeneration, who can kill demons, and who's even more terrifying than the Demon Slayer Corps!

"Don't talk to me, you disgusting thing, your only value is to die!"

Aoki frowned, raised his foot, and slammed it down heavily.

  *Thud!*

The spider demon's head exploded, but its body didn't hesitate, fleeing frantically.

The traitor has come to Mount Natagumo. He

  has to find Rui!

Only Rui can deal with him!

The air rippled, outlining Aoki's figure.

The headless spider demon was oblivious and charged headlong into him.

  Aoki raised his foot.

  *Bang!*

  The spider demon flew up.

Aoki caught up, his hand flashing, spider legs falling one by one, until the spider demon hit the ground, leaving only a body fragment.

  "A bit disgusting."

Looking at the demon on the ground, Aoki felt a sense of "not wanting to kill" for the first time, and the thought of swallowing this thing gave him goosebumps.

He sighed and stretched out his hand.

Now was not the time to be picky.

The spider demon's body began to twist and soften. Just then, Aoki suddenly turned his head to look in another direction from the jungle.

  "Ah!"

A plump female ghost, dressed in white with white hair and covered in what looked like white powder, plopped down on the ground, her face filled with terror .

She quickly got up and fled desperately into the distance.

  "That must be 'Mom,' exhausted?"

Aoki didn't immediately chase after her, but looked up at the sky.

A black crow perched on a treetop, curiously looking around, appearing harmless.

  Suddenly, their eyes met.

The black crow's feathers bristled, almost causing it to fall from the treetop, but without hesitation, it flapped its wings and flew into the sky.

Only when the earth and trees grew smaller did it feel relieved.

"There are demons here, and more than one! I must hurry..."

The black crow suddenly widened its eyes.

It felt a tremendous force binding its body, and out of the corner of its eye, it saw what appeared to be a hand.

Before it could figure it out, everything went black, and it found itself back on the ground.

"Is this the Kasugai Crow of the Demon Slayer Corps?"

Aoki examined the crow in his hand with interest.

Kasugai Crows are messengers for the Demon Slayer Corps, used for transmitting information and communicating with each other. They possess considerable intelligence, and each member of the Demon Slayer Corps has a Kasugai Crow companion.

"It's over! It's over! How did he catch me?" the black crow cried out

inwardly. Aoki forcefully tossed the crow into the air.

  "Go!"

The black crow hesitated for a moment, then quickly flapped its wings and flew into the sky, but didn't leave immediately, looking at Aoki warily and suspiciously.

What was wrong with this demon?

  Why did he release it?

Its little head was a little confused.

Aoki had no intention of explaining.

"Go, quickly call for help. Those spider-headed creatures might still be saved."

The black crow glanced at him, then, without hesitation, flapped its wings and flew quickly into the distance.

  Today's events were too thrilling.

It had only been passing by when it saw ghosts fighting and glanced over out of curiosity.

Little did it know that this glance would almost cost it its life.

  "The defector?"

The black crow recalled the crucial information it had gathered, using all its strength to flap its wings even faster.

  Meanwhile,

the ghost mother was running desperately, her mind replaying the images of the spider ghosts being killed and devoured.

"The rumors about the defector are true! He really can kill ghosts!"

Suddenly, she felt a chill on her legs, lost her balance, and uncontrollably fell forward.

  Rumble!

After rolling several times, she finally stopped, covered in snow, but the ghost mother didn't care. She looked back in terror, but saw nothing.

Before she could even catch her breath, a strange male voice entered her ears.

"In my hometown, there's an old saying: 'It's better to live a miserable life than to die a good death.'"

The ghost mother stiffened and slowly turned her head.

A figure sat on a rock in front of her, a pair of striking golden vertical pupils.

Aoki calmly looked at the ghost mother: "But, if you've already embarked on the wrong path and are living a particularly painful life, giving up is actually a good choice, don't you think?" Do

  ghosts deserve to die?

From a human perspective, most ghosts deserve to die.

Eating people is an absolute taboo for humans.

If he were human, he would absolutely agree to exterminate ghosts.

However, in a way, ghosts are also very pitiful.

Not every ghost becomes a ghost voluntarily; in the beginning, many ghosts were victims.

Many ghosts forget their memories of their human lives, becoming monsters with only a few obsessions left: eating people, becoming stronger, and surviving.

  "I…"

The ghost mother opened her mouth, suddenly feeling a wave of darkness wash over her, her consciousness slowly sinking into it.

  "Aoki Style, Funeral Procession."

Aoki's figure appeared beside her: "All that has happened before is wiped clean. Go in peace!"

  "Ah, so peaceful."

The Demon Mother glanced at Aoki and slowly closed her eyes.

"Then let it end like this!"

Funeral Procession, a technique created by combining "space travel," is characterized by its speed, sharpness, and silent annihilation of the enemy.
