Chapter 5: Asylum of Outcast Souls
A heavy fog surrounded Sai, and he could only hear the sound of his own breathing. Suddenly, the scene changed to a great ruined hall inside Saida, where Sakuna was sitting on her throne.
Sai: (She looked at Sakuna suspiciously) "Sakuna... there is a question that occupies my mind. You being so powerful, why did you accept to be sealed inside me? Why did you hide inside the body of a human like me?"
Sakuna gave a cold laugh, her red eyes glowing and began a brief flashback to her past:
Sakuna flashback: Running from the eyes of the gods
"Sai, you think the gods are fair? No... They were just afraid of my power. 9,000 years ago, after Lucifer betrayed the Demon King and stole his power, the gods fell for me too. They think I'm destroyed, they think my soul no longer exists."
Sai saw how Sakuna sacrificed his body in a meaningless battle with a large army of angels to save only his soul.
"If I were to appear in your body now and show my true strength," Sakuna continued, "all the gods of heaven would follow me like Dal. They would not let the rebel guard of old breathe again."
Sakuna's nice place
Sakuna looked around inside Sai, the place was quiet and peaceful, as if Sai was a good protector for her.
Sakuna: "Most importantly... here, inside your heart, the place is much nicer than the false paradise I used to be in. Here I am my king. If I leave you, I must fight every day, but here... here I rest until we shake Lucifer and the gods together.
Sai understood that the sealing of Sakuna was not only punishment, but also a form of refuge.
Sakuna: "Sai, stop asking. The golden energy you feel in your body now is my power that protects you. For as long as you live, I will be hidden from the eyes of the gods. There was silence for a moment, then he said in a calm voice:
Sakuna: "Here... inside you, the place is much nicer and more peaceful than the false paradise I used to be in. There is no one to bother me here.
Slightly surprised, Sai simply said, "So… you feel at ease here? Like mine has become your home?"
Suddenly, the whole atmosphere in Sai's heart changed! Sakuna's eyes turned red and a very heavy squeeze hit Sai's chest, as if he had stopped breathing. Furious, Sakuna straightened up on her bed and looked into Sai's eyes.
Sakuna: (in a thunderous voice) "You fool! Did you think I was your guest here? Or did you think this was my house and I lived there?"
Sai took a step back in fear.
"I'm here only to hide from the eyes of the gods," Sakuna continued, "not because I like that skinny body of yours! Don't think I've become your friend or that this is a base for my resting place. I'm just killing time until the day I burn the whole universe under my feet!"
Sai, as he tried to catch his breath, realized that although Sakuna had taken refuge with him, he was still the same violent rebel guard that no one could shake his hand.
Sakuna: (leaning back and dipping her eyes) "And now go... before I regret letting your heart beat so far
