Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Rosa and Tinkaton

"Right. Today's the day the construction crew arrives."

Wade turned his gaze toward the window. The sky, after days of relentless grey, had finally cleared to a soft, promising blue. The Machamp Construction Company from Hiyori Town would be sending their team soon—time to break ground on the new Miltank sheds and begin fencing the outer pastures.

"Time to get up, Rosa."

He looked down at the girl still nestled against his chest and gently combed his fingers through her brownish hair, where it pooled like spilled silk over her snow-pale shoulders.

"Mmm… it's still so early~"

Rosa's silver-lash-fringed eyes fluttered open. A small, contented hum escaped her.

And then, with a drowsy realization, she noticed something peculiar.

Her body—the same body that had been thoroughly, repeatedly cultivated over these past days—showed no sign of fatigue. Instead, a quiet, persistent warmth hummed beneath her skin. An urge. To press closer. To fuse. To be filled, completely, utterly, and never part.

It… it would be best if I could stay like this forever…

Startled by the boldness of her own thought, Rosa ducked her head, her cheeks scorching. Her sensitized skin, so recently awakened, flushed anew with heat.

Under Wade's mildly puzzled gaze, she did not release her fair, slender arms from around his waist. Instead, she held on tighter.

Her loose nightgown, dislodged by the movement, slipped from one shoulder. A plush, pale swell—uncovered, unashamed—spilled free from the rumpled fabric. The cool morning air kissed it, and where it touched, the snowy softness bloomed a faint, delicate pink.

I want. I want, I want, I want—

The tighter she held, the softer and hotter she became. Her breath turned shallow, warm against his skin. Every inch of her ached for that familiar, beloved warmth.

She could bear it no longer.

Rosa lifted her flushed, exquisite face. With a sudden, graceful motion, she shifted, swinging one leg over to straddle him. Her thin dress pooled at her waist, revealing the vulnerable, sensitive curve of her inner thighs.

"Rosa wants Master's good morning caress~"

Her eyes were hazy, drowning in sweet longing. Her slender hands braced against his chest. The plush, snow-soft curves of her settled against him in wordless invitation.

Somewhere along the way—perhaps in the shared warmth of those long rainy days with Gardevoir and the others—the shy girl had learned to shed her formalities. In moments like this, she was simply his, her voice a breathless, seductive whisper that asked only to be cherished.

Wade sighed, but his smile was fond.

The daily "cultivation" began anew.

"Mmm… wuu, wuuu…"

Her soft, fair face tilted upward, small, replete whimpers spilling from her throat.

After he had thoroughly loved her—until her beautiful eyes grew distant and her delicate frame trembled with satisfaction—Wade checked the clock and gently pinched her flushed cheek.

"Alright. Work waits for no farmer."

"Mm-kay, big brother~"

Rosa, now placid and content, nodded obediently and reached for her everyday clothes. The insatiable creature of the early morning was for Wade alone. Once she stepped through that door, she would be herself again: bright, cheerful, the energetic and innocent girl the world knew.

"Master Here"

The Miltank Loli, who had been patiently waiting nearby, approached with her usual offering—full, heavy, snow-white. Wade drank his fill of fresh milk, warm and sweet.

Then he pushed open the door.

The world outside had transformed. Gone were the oppressive grey clouds and the relentless drumming of rain. A brilliant sun—unseasonably warm for late autumn—hung high in a sky of pure, crystalline blue, scattering light like scattered coins across the farm.

"Chururu~!"

Miss Lopunny came bounding toward him, her face alight with barely contained excitement.

"Everything's ready to harvest? Everything?"

Wade's voice lifted in pleasant surprise.

He followed her along the familiar path to the wooded clearing, and the sight that greeted him stole the breath from his lungs.

Where yesterday there had been only small, closed buds, the forest floor now teemed with life. Mushrooms of every size and shape had unfurled their caps, standing plump and proud in the dappled sunlight. The earth was rich with them—a hidden kingdom, suddenly revealed, awaiting its reaper.

"Wow… there's so many!"

Rosa bent at the waist, counting their bounty with a radiant smile spread across her face. The three days of relentless rain had done their work—the mushrooms had flourished beyond expectation.

Wade called Rosa and the Pokémon over, and together they began to harvest the ripe caps, one by one.

"Sa~"

Gardevoir hovered nearby, her gentle psychic hum keeping a silent tally. Lilligant, ever composed, trailed her elegant skirts through the damp forest loam, her cool features soft with quiet contentment. For a Grass-type, this misty clearing was nothing short of paradise.

But the forest wasn't the only source of good news.

"Skitty… gently. You'll snap the stems."

Wade crouched beside the medicinal herb plot and gave the cat Pokémon's fluffy ears an affectionate, exasperated ruffle. The herbs swayed invitingly in the breeze, and Skitty's claws twitched with barely restrained mischief. She batted at the leaves as though they were a game.

With a soft chuckle, Wade scooped her up and settled her in the crook of his arm.

The field before him was thriving. After days of careful tending and the blessing of the storm, the Leppa grain and Gungun beans had stretched a full few inches taller. Several plants were already beginning to sprout tender ears of grain. The Healing Herbs and Bug-Repelling Herbs stood in vibrant, emerald rows, swaying gently—they would be ready for harvest within the week.

"Once they're ripe, I'll bundle them up for Uncle Yoshino."

Wade nodded, satisfied. Unlike the Miltank milk, these crops held no unique advantage. They were quality goods, but not exceptional. For now, selling them raw made sense. Later—once the Moomoo Milk brand was established and new revenue streams opened—he could revisit processing.

The berry seedlings on the eastern slope had grown, but slowly. Another three months, at least, before they showed signs of bearing fruit.

A full circuit of the farm completed, Wade carried the morning's mushroom harvest back to the cabin. He prepared the daily Poffins from the kitchen, then began the familiar rhythm of feeding and milking the Miltank herd.

Beep-beep-beep!

A chorus of horns echoed from the farm gate, just as he and Rosa were hauling the last full buckets inside.

"Afternoon! Name's Kimura, Machamp Construction." A burly man with sun-bronzed skin and a thick black beard hopped down from the lead truck. "You the one who put in the order for sheds and fencing?"

"Yes. Wade." He shook the offered hand, then his gaze drifted past the man.

Behind Kimura, a dozen workers were unloading equipment. Several Machop and a Machamp descended from the truck bed with practiced ease.

And then Wade saw the final figure.

[Tinkaton]

Type: Fairy / Steel

Level: 40

Gender: Female

Ability: Mold Breaker

Moves: Gigaton Hammer, Metal Claw, Draining Kiss, Slam, Play Rough, Fake Out, Facade, Brick Break, Swords Dance, Heavy Slam

Egg Moves: Feint, Ice Hammer

A Tinkaton. Native to the distant Paldea region. What was she doing here?

As if sensing his stare, the violent loli turned her face away with deliberate indifference, casually swinging the massive hammer—easily twice her size—in a lazy, dangerous arc.

"That one…" Kimura sighed, scrubbing a hand through his beard. "She showed up at the yard a few days ago. No idea where she came from. Anyone who gets too close catches that hammer. But the boss noticed she seemed real interested in construction work, so…" He shrugged. "Told us to bring her along. Figured we'd let her watch."

"I see."

Wade's gaze lingered on the little powerhouse, thoughts already turning.

In a distant corner of the farm, Alcremie carefully balanced a broad leaf cupped with cool, clear water. She made her way toward the forest clearing, just as she did every day, her tiny steps quick with anticipation.

Mushroom, mushroom—I'm coming!

"Nai~"

Her heart sang. Today the mushrooms would surely be ripe. She could already imagine their plump, perfect caps, the earthy scent of the loam—

She rounded the final bend.

Tap.

The leaf slipped from her grasp. Clear water spilled across the bare earth, unheeded.

Alcremie stared.

The rich, fertile soil had been picked clean. Stripped. What had been a thriving, crowded kingdom of fungi was now a wasteland—more barren than before she had ever watered it.

Her lower lip trembled.

This time, it wasn't just two mushrooms missing.

This time, there were only two mushrooms left.

"NAI——!!!"

A tiny, heartbroken wail pierced the stillness of the empty forest.
