Rose looked up and immediately spoke, a little nervous but eager. "Sister-in-law, I saw you hadn't come yet, so I started preparing dinner first."
Mary nodded with a smile. "You did well. I was already planning to let you handle the kitchen from now on."
Rose let out a long breath of relief, her shoulders finally relaxing. "Then I'll definitely do it properly."
Mary glanced at the meat prepared on the side and frowned slightly. The portion was too small.
She turned and called out, "Rose, double the amount of meat. From now on, every meal should have this much. Don't worry about supplies. If we run out, someone will deliver more."
Rose quickly returned to the storage room and brought out another slab of meat.
She had originally planned to add more but had been afraid of being scolded. Now she understood that her sister-in-law cared far more about everyone eating well than saving ingredients.
Mary stayed nearby, giving pointers as Rose cooked.
