Jay-Jay's POV
The moment we arrived , I almost wanted to collapse from excitement—but then I remembered Keifer was there, smirking like he owned the beach.
The sun was blazing, the sand was warm, and the ocean sparkled like it was teasing us to jump in. Perfect. Perfect chaos.
"Everyone, pick your spots!" Ci-N shouted, waving like a traffic cop. Adrian, Ciel, Yuri, Calix, Edrix, Drew, and Felix immediately started setting up towels and umbrellas.
Andrew and Chantelle ran straight to the water, holding hands like some cheesy romance movie. I rolled my eyes. Ugh, teenagers… leave some cringe for later.
Keifer leaned casually against our car, arms crossed, watching me with that smirk that made me want to punch him. "So… first swim?"
I raised an eyebrow. "I don't think I want to see you flop around like a fish. Not on my watch."
He laughed. "Flop around? I'll have you know I'm an Olympic-level swimmer."
I snorted. Olympic? More like "overconfident disaster waiting to happen."
"Jay-Jay! Come on!" Chantelle yelled from the water, waving frantically. "The water's amazing!"
I hesitated. Keifer nudged me gently. "Go on, don't be a scaredy-cat."
I gritted my teeth. "Fine. But you better not push me in."
"Promise," he said, raising his hand… before I realized it was a lie.
Half a second later, splash! He shoved me straight into the shallow water, and I screamed, sputtering like a fish out of water.
"Keifer! You—" I sputtered, trying to stand, but he grabbed my arm and laughed uncontrollably. "Relax, Jay-Jay! The water's fine!"
I gave him my best death glare, dripping wet. One day, Watson… one day you'll regret this.
Andrew and Chantelle were laughing from a distance, clearly enjoying the show. Andrew waved. "Need a hand, Jay-Jay?"
I stuck my tongue out. "Nope! I'll manage without your dramatic heroics!"
Meanwhile, Ci-N was lecturing the others about sunscreen and hydration like a walking disaster-prevention manual. Adrian was trying to organize a volleyball game, but everyone kept ignoring him. Typical Section E chaos.
Keifer finally let go, still smirking, and I wiped my hair out of my face. "You're insufferable," I muttered.
"Insufferable? You love it," he teased, nudging me.
I blinked. Does she? Don't answer that, brain. Ignore the butterflies.
The next hour was a blur of sun, sand, and water. Andrew challenged Keifer to a swimming race, and of course, Keifer acted like he was going to win, only to get a face full of water seconds later. I laughed so hard my cheeks hurt.
Chantelle and I built a sandcastle, secretly competing to see who could make the tallest tower. She cheated a little, but I let it slide—partly because she's Andrew's girlfriend, partly because… she's annoying but fun.
Every time I looked at Keifer, he was either teasing someone, laughing at Andrew's epic fails, or staring at me with that smirk that made my brain go fuzzy. I hissed under my breath. Focus, Jay-Jay! Don't let him see that you're slightly… enjoying this.
By the afternoon, we were all exhausted, sand sticking to every inch of skin, and the sun was starting to dip. Keifer leaned back on the sand, hands behind his head, looking annoyingly comfortable.
"You're impossible," I muttered, dumping a bucket of water on him.
He sputtered and laughed. "You'll regret that!"
Andrew called out, laughing hysterically. "Finally! Jay-Jay's showing her true power!"
I gave him a look. "Stay out of this, Andrew!"
Chantelle nudged him. "You're not part of her vendetta, don't worry."
Keifer finally sat up, hair plastered to his face from the water. "Alright, alright. Truce… for now."
I narrowed my eyes. Truce? Don't make me laugh, Watson.
As the sun began to set, everyone gathered around, tired but happy. I glanced at Keifer, still smug, and rolled my eyes. Yeah, you're annoying… but maybe this vacation won't be so bad after all.
Little did I know, this was just the calm before the chaos…
