Chapter 5 - Part 4 - Under the same roof

She had no regrets.

She knew she'd done the right thing by rebelling against that man.

The sound of an engine was approaching her dinghy.

" Good, run away... " she thought.

" And woe betide you if I ever see you again. "

She prepared to jump into the water.

"If you think you're to blame for everything, you need to know that there will always be someone like you!"

The voice was familiar.

It passed behind her.

Like a living rope covered in scales, something wrapped itself around her waist dragging her on the boat.

The man on the balcony smiled.

The arm began to move strangely as it was coated with a metallic surface which he placed it on the railing.

He aimed at the boy's head; then he pulled the trigger.

The bullet outran the boat. The entire vessel was in danger.

No one noticed.

Dancing figures emerged from Hamlet's mouth, perfectly synchronized.

Following the beat of his heart, they formed a transparent dome over the boat.

The bullet passed through it.

Another barrier was created, closer to Diaz.

That one too, it collapses.

The shot struck into the middle of the protagonist's head, then deflected toward the base of the ship.

Mr. Tibia turned after managing to tamper with the steering wheel.

The purple light became a purple flame, then a blaze.

His body changed shape: legs and arms like brakes, torso like a flaming barrel and the head over the barrel.

" Give me back... my partner... We made... a pact ! "

Cried with half of the head burned.

The shot fired aiming to the apartament.

It missed the target and the boat started to sink.

The ship became a bright torch in the darkness of the ocean.

A ghostly chorus enveloped them while lightning start to struck the vessel.

Tentacles emerged from the water and began dragging them toward the bottom.

Diaz wasn't fighting.

He wasn't struggling.

He wasn't breathing.

The team was struggling to stay afloat.

The skeleton was trying to reach a piece of the boat.

The snake couldn't swim and the girl couldnt reach the corpse while she was trying to stay afloat from the tentacles.

Their necks were grabbed just in time by the skeleton's hands who had turned his legs into a four-bladed propeller, along with a piece of the boat as a base. Only the body of their friend remained behind, now beyond anyone's reach.

And while everyone escapes from their destiny, the life of a single guy was taken under those waters.
