Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 A Blood Sacrifice, Challenging the Road to Hell

"Congratulations, you have achieved 100 victories in the Hell Slaughter Arena." A deep, sharp voice suddenly came from all directions. The killing intent released by Qian Xunji and Manyao was instantly reversed the moment the voice rang out. The atmosphere within the Hell Slaughter Arena instantly reached its peak, because in mid-air, a blood-red figure was descending from the sky.

The surrounding Fallen Ones seemed to have gone mad, constantly shouting in hoarse voices: "King of Slaughter, King of Slaughter, King of Slaughter..."

In the darkness, a scarlet figure gradually appeared.

It was a tall man, his entire body wrapped in a huge scarlet cloak.

Pale face, completely blood-red eyes, his body slowly descended from the air, finally hovering about five meters above the ground, looking down at Qian Xunji and Manyao.

Qian Xunji's expression did not change at all, he stretched out his right hand and tightly grasped Manyao's smooth jade hand, looking up at the King of Slaughter with a mocking gaze.

"King of Slaughter, you should know very well where I come from. Enough with the nonsense, just open the Hell Road."

The King of Slaughter's expression suddenly turned cold. If it weren't for his reservations, he would have already destroyed Qian Xunji and Manyao before him. But he couldn't do that, because he was afraid—afraid that Qian Daoliu would come to Slaughter City and destroy him; the strength of a level 99 Peerless Douluo was no joke. Moreover, Qian Xunji was from the Spirit Hall; without the Spirit Hall's tacit approval, Slaughter City wouldn't have been able to act so freely until now.

Although Manyao was from Slaughter City, judging from Qian Xunji's expression, he would probably protect her no matter what.

After a moment of contemplation, the King of Slaughter forcibly suppressed his anger. At this point, he couldn't possibly resort to any other tricks.

"Since that's the case, then you two shall walk the Road to Hell. Traveling together on the Road to Hell will be quite a journey. If you can pass the test of the Road to Hell and become the new generation of Gods of Slaughter, please give my regards to Qian Daoliu."

The King of Slaughter's tone turned noticeably colder, even carrying a hint of sarcasm. Is the Road to Hell really that easy to traverse? Even for the two of you, it won't be so easy.

Suddenly, a dense red mist was released from the King of Slaughter's body, its immense aura carrying a powerful oppressive force. What he released was not killing intent, but an extremely evil aura, a feeling that was unusually familiar to Qian Xunji.

The aura of the Crimson Nine-Headed Bat King, is it?

Qian Xunji's eyes narrowed slightly as he watched the evil, cold red ripples slowly spread. In almost the blink of an eye, it had already spread throughout the entire area.

The Fallen warriors in the stands were initially excited, but their frenzied cheers quickly subsided as the red light descended upon the viewing platform. Their eyes glazed over, then turned bloodshot. Soon, as the red light formed a massive barrier across the entire hellish killing field, agonizing screams erupted from those who had first come into contact with it. Affected by the light

, these Fallen warriors frantically clawed at their faces and bodies.

Those who survived in the inner city were mostly quite powerful, and now they channeled all their energy into themselves, their screams even containing a strange, almost ecstatic pleasure. They seemed to derive immense enjoyment from this self-torture.

Skin tore open, blood spurted, and they even ripped out their internal organs. This madness continued until death.

More and more Fallen warriors underwent this transformation, until it spread throughout the entire arena.

Qian Xunji was prepared for this, but Manyao, born in the Killing City, possessed a far greater capacity for mental fortitude. Both of them watched everything unfolding before them with indifferent expressions.

Blood splattered on the ground and began to condense, flowing like streams through inconspicuous, thin pipes beneath the stands towards the center of the killing arena. Countless winding red liquids, like tiny snakes, were clearly visible flowing into the arena.

Gradually, the blood coalesced into a massive crimson pattern on the ground. Then, the bird's eyes suddenly lit up, and Man Yao's mental energy was almost instantly shattered, while Qian Xunji's was similarly impacted.

A massive red light shot into the sky, instantly engulfing both of them. All their senses blurred, only the deep, sharp voice of the King of Slaughter echoing in their ears.

"Good luck on your road to hell."

In the instant their mental energy was pulverized, Qian Xunji finally understood the bird-shaped pattern—a bat, it seemed to be a bat.

Under the crimson engulfment, Qian Xunji and Man Yao simultaneously felt their feet sink into the void, everything around them becoming illusory, all their senses completely shut down. The uncontrollable pain instilled a nameless fear within them. Unseen by them, the killing intent emanating from each of them coalesced into a faint white ripple, protecting their bodies. If not for this killing intent, they would have been truly swallowed up the moment the crimson light spread.

Completely blocking the external blood-red light, he had now regained control of his body. Holding Manyao protectively in his arms, sensing the changes around him, he grew increasingly alarmed.

"Indeed, the secrets of this City of Slaughter are all in this Hell Road."

He didn't know how much time had passed when, accompanied by a violent tremor, the surrounding blood-red light gradually faded.

At this moment, Qian Xunji found himself and Manyao on a circular platform. This platform was only about five meters in diameter, not particularly large.

He looked around; besides the five-meter-diameter circular platform beneath his feet, there was only a narrow path, less than half a foot wide, barely wide enough for two feet to stand side-by-side, leading into the unknown darkness. This was the only path from their platform to the outside world.

Just as Qian Xunji was carefully observing his surroundings, Manyao, nestled in his arms, quickly regained consciousness. A soft, delicate body writhed in Qian Xunji's arms, half-leaning against him as she landed on the circular platform.

"This is the Road to Hell?" The form-fitting black outfit perfectly outlined the secrets of Manyao's figure. Her fair skin, bathed in the surrounding dim red light, added to her allure. Her skin was so smooth and delicate it almost reflected light, and her two long, straight legs were taut, revealing soft lines. Every movement tugged at the heartstrings.

"Yes, this is the Road to Hell. Once we pass through the Road to Hell, we'll leave the City of Slaughter," Qian Xunji said.

Qian Xunji saw that Manyao was emanating a faint blood mist, her eyes had turned completely blood red, and white ripples around her body were constantly intensifying with each fluctuation. Although she was looking at him, her body was convulsing violently, as if enduring immense pain.

A thought struck him, and Qian Xunji said in a deep voice, "Manyao, wake up!" As he spoke, he raised his right hand and placed it on the top of Manyao's head. A surge of pure, abundant life energy flowed from her palm into the crown of Manyao's head. Under the faint golden light rippled, Manyao's trembling body gradually returned to normal, and the bloodshot in her eyes faded.
