"Mutation and Glory."

Isaac Monroe—once terminally ill, homeless, and a racist who believed in white supremacy—was completely transformed.

Ever since being instructed by that Black scientist, Isaac had changed. In the days before the experiment, he used his time in the residential library to study the theory of mutant evolution.

As his research deepened, Isaac gained a clear understanding of the glory of mutation and the meaning of evolutionary ascent—especially after witnessing how ordinary people could become superhuman, overcoming disease, aging, and even death.

Isaac Monroe, once a white supremacist, eventually became a fanatical supporter of mutant evolution theory.

For days, he had been obsessively studying the great theories of mutation and evolutionary advancement, eager to take part in a human experiment.

"Glory and evolution!"

Lying on the experimental table, Isaac snapped back to awareness and shouted wildly. His earlier tension quickly faded.

"Dr. Raina, we're ready to begin."

In front of the console, a research assistant in a white lab coat reminded her.

"My king, long live."

This was Raina's first time leading a scientific experiment—an exceptionally important human trial.

A flicker of worry crossed her eyes, but soon the image of Lancelot appeared in her mind, along with the voice and smile of her mentor, the great evolutionist Dr. Darwin.

Dr. Raina took a deep breath, stepped up to Isaac Monroe, and skillfully began calibrating the directed evolution device.

"Isaac Monroe," she said coldly after finishing the adjustments, staring at him with solemn intensity.

"Tell me your choice. Remain as you are—or choose evolution."

When Isaac became a test subject, he had already signed an agreement: the House of Evolution would cure his terminal illness, and in return, he would become their experimental subject.

He had only one chance to choose.

If he refused and became merely an expendable test subject, the price would be severe—his memories of this place would be erased, and he would be expelled, losing all ties to the House of Evolution forever.

But if he chose to continue evolving, it meant full consent to the experiment. He would gain the friendship and honor of the evolutionary family and step into the future of evolution.

"Mutation and glory."

Seeing Dr. Raina's stern expression, Isaac fell silent for a moment, then raised both arms and shouted.

No one wishes to be ordinary. No one wants to remain mediocre.

"I choose evolution."

Isaac's resolute declaration earned approval from the scientists present, who spontaneously broke into applause.

"Then let us enter the directed evolution chamber."

Dr. Raina nodded and opened the streamlined pod of the device, allowing Isaac to step inside.

Bang.

Once Isaac entered the chamber, Dr. Raina sealed the door and smoothly accepted a cube-like container filled with futuristic brilliance from her assistant.

"Now then, Isaac Monroe," she said, holding the cube, "choose your evolutionary path."

"Underwater breathing, desert heat resistance, metallic skin, anaerobic respiration, ancestral regression…"

Dr. Raina listed the options one by one. The other scientists were long accustomed to this, but Isaac was stunned.

"Underwater breathing."

Isaac made his choice almost instantly. Since childhood, he had both feared and yearned for the ocean. The moment he learned he could breathe underwater, he decided without hesitation.

"As you wish, Isaac."

Dr. Raina nodded, gently tapped the cube, retrieved a vial of pale golden evolutionary serum, and injected it into the cultivation chamber.

"The first evolutionary experiment begins!"

Her expression hardened as she activated the serum infusion and directed cultivation systems.

Hummm—

A dazzling golden light rose from the chamber, illuminating the entire laboratory in a magnificent glow.

"So painful…"

An hour later, Isaac Monroe's agonized roar echoed from within the pod.

Hearing his cries, Dr. Raina frowned slightly and glanced at the scientists behind her.

"Inject the analgesic serum," she ordered calmly.

The scientists immediately sprang into action.

Five minutes later, the pain vanished from Isaac's face. The analgesic completely numbed his physical sensations.

Two hours later, Isaac's body visibly wasted away, rapidly becoming emaciated.

"Inject vitality agents and nutrient solution," Dr. Raina said evenly, monitoring his vital signs.

Once the vitality agents and nutrients entered his body, Isaac seemed to swell back to life, regaining strength.

Over the next four hours, gill glands formed on both sides of his shoulders, and fish-like alveoli appeared in his lungs.

"Post-evolution cell integration rate: 95%… no adverse reactions observed."

"Directed evolution integration rate: 84%… physical parameters stable."

"The gill glands, as the directed evolutionary organs, have integrated with the shoulder cells according to plan. Their form is elegant and lightweight."

"The lungs have developed alveoli capable of regulating water pressure. No adverse reactions observed so far."

As reports echoed through the laboratory, the tension in Dr. Raina's expression gradually eased.

"Evolutionary cell integration rate: 100%. Directed evolution integration rate: 100%.

The gill organs have perfectly integrated with the test subject."

"Our experiment has succeeded."

"We have created an evolution."

Staring at the data before her, Dr. Raina suddenly jumped up, her voice trembling with excitement as she made the announcement.

Cheers erupted.

Her words ignited the entire laboratory. Even Lancelot, who had been watching silently from behind the observation window, smiled.

"You have made history. The House of Evolution is honored by your research."

Lancelot stepped into the laboratory, looking at Dr. Raina and the others with admiration and praise.

"My king."

At his appearance, the scientists stopped cheering, placed their right hands over their chests, and bowed in unison.

"Loyal to our king—until death!" they shouted fervently together.

"Mutation and glory. The future will shine because of you."

Lancelot nodded, then turned his gaze toward Isaac Monroe—

the first evolved being created by the House of Evolution.
