Chapter 53 - God

However, before proceeding, it was best to be cautious.

Adam waved his hand lightly, and a Warp teleportation beacon flew out on its own, landing on the armor of the Ancient Gargant.

A flash of teleportation light flickered.

The other three remaining on the strike cruiser were immediately teleported down.

They looked around, but the intense battle with xenos they had expected was completely non-existent. Not a single Ork was in sight; instead, they saw a massive amount of weapons and vehicles abandoned by the Orks scattered across the ground.

Everyone looked at each other in bewilderment at this outcome.

The vague thoughts they had held after hearing Adam's words earlier now became increasingly firm.

Without a doubt, they had been wrong.

The man before them was the Emperor's Contractor, an existence walking the world carrying the Emperor's expectations.

We should not measure him by our own inherent perceptions; we are merely stepping stones on his glorious path. We can provide help with details, but we should not interfere with his will.

Holding such thoughts, the three quickly fell silent. They raised no objections to Adam's decision to make contact with a xenos creation, instead swiftly forming a solid defensive line to ensure his safety.

In the center, Adam slowly reached out his hand, his fingertips touching the sphere of light.

The moment his fingertips touched the sphere, the WAAAGH Force Field surged like an electric current, booming into connection with Adam's perception.

In an instant, overwhelming illusions pressed down, appearing within Adam's awareness.

It was a location unknown to anyone within the raging waves of the Warp. Two behemoths so massive they defied description, like literal stars, were locked in a fistfight.

Their bodies were covered in emerald-green skin, which was in turn covered by a vast, countless number of Orks like grains of sand. Every collision kicked up energy storms that tore through the void, and their roars made the Warp itself tremble.

They were the gods of the Orks—Gork and Mork!

At that moment, the fighting of these two behemoths suddenly halted. Their ugly xenos faces turned toward Adam with a hint of confusion, their gazes briefly meeting in the void, their massive pupils filled with bewilderment.

Adam's heart jolted, and he immediately activated Reality Warping to isolate his perception.

Thinking it was just a hallucination, Gork and Mork shifted their attention back, returning to the fight they had enjoyed for infinite ages and still never tired of.

"Gave me a zoggin' fright."

"For a second there, I thought a shrimp had become Our Prophet!"

Adam quickly withdrew.

"So this is... connecting to the WAAAGH Force Field?"

He murmured to himself.

In that brief moment, Adam had seen more than just Gork and Mork; he had seen countless images—throughout the Galaxy, Orks were fighting madly on starships, in ruins, and on battlefields. Their fanatical roars joined into a tide sweeping across the sea of stars, surging constantly.

"How do you feel? Are you alright?"

Sibylla was slightly startled, her voice carrying a hint of tension.

She saw Adam frozen in place.

With her perception as a Psyker, Sibylla could feel that the xenos psychic creation had suddenly erupted with a strange but extremely powerful fluctuation.

"...I'm fine."

Adam recovered his senses and withdrew his hand. "Just now, I tapped into the collective WAAAGH Force Field of the Ork race and learned quite a bit of intelligence."

"With this seed, I can already perform a certain degree of interference and amplification. I can even use the power of 'I fink so' as freely as the Orks do."

As for the effect... Adam gave himself a psychological suggestion not to use Reality Warping for a moment, then threw a punch with all his might. The air whistled around his fist.

He stomped his foot again. The armor beneath him vibrated slightly, leaving a deep footprint.

"How was that?"

Adam, who wasn't very knowledgeable about physical stats, asked the onlookers.

Everyone looked at each other. Leonardo thought for a moment, recalling the speed and power just now, and gave a fair evaluation.

"Very good. It's already close to a regular armored Astartes."

"Is that so?"

Adam acknowledged.

The WAAAGH Force Field had amplified his physical attributes, simultaneously enhancing his speed, strength, and vitality.

This was also why the leaders among Ork groups were almost always the strongest among them.

"I don't quite understand why you are so excited?"

Lucia was curious and voiced the question in her heart. "Why would you be happy about this small increase? Weren't you able to do the same thing with your ability before? And far better than this."

"Is that the same?"

Adam smiled. "A Reality Warper is an idealistic creature, but I am not a god. I cannot be omnipotent; in the end, I am still human."

"Human focus is limited. If I divide my mind, my energy is scattered. If I attend to one thing, another might be lacking, or I might even lose both. Only by committing heart and soul can Reality Warping Ability be pushed to its limit."

As a Reality Warper, Adam's physical defensive power was actually quite mediocre and very fragile.

This was why a certain organization in his past life loved to ambush Reality Warpers while they were sleeping.

After all, an ability that can't be used is the same as having none.

But now, with his body buffed by the WAAAGH Force Field, his baseline defensive power would be greatly increased.

At the very least, Adam wouldn't have to worry about being killed by a flying rock because he was being careless.

However, there were other issues.

He reached out his hand again, and the pale blue sphere of light flew out, hovering above his palm.

"Because there aren't enough Orks using the 'I fink so' power to provide it with energy, this field is gradually dissipating. Right now, I must split my attention at all times to keep part of it focused on this small sphere of condensed WAAAGH Force Field."

"Then what should be done?"

Sibylla asked.

"I hope someone can help me share the burden and maintain the existence of this WAAAGH Force Field."

Adam looked around and said, "In this way, that person can also use the 'I fink so' power and receive the blessing of this field."

The other three showed somewhat subtle expressions upon hearing this.

No matter how you put it, this was a xenos creation. Given that Imperial citizens generally had racial xenophobia, accepting this was indeed a bit difficult.

"If this is your command, we will agree."

Lucia was the first to speak up.

"No, no, no, you misunderstand me."

Adam waved his hand and smiled slightly. "I don't need you to do this. I already have a better candidate in mind."

"Or rather, he is the human most suited for this task in this entire Galaxy."

At this very moment.

Commissar Yarrick, who should have been commanding the 252nd Armageddon Steel Legion to harvest the Orks who had begun to flee for their lives, had been forced to leave his vehicle and the command sequence due to a sudden situation.

By the side of a Hive City road.

Yarrick's brow was furrowed, and he stood tall, looking at the person before him with a very unfriendly tone.

"Be warned, your current actions are suspected of interfering with Astra Militarum military affairs. As an Imperial Commissar, I have the right to execute you at any time."
