Chapter 71: The Lost Knight

December 24, Harz Mountains (Central Germany)

Harry walked across the dark corridor. His eyes moved from side to side, searching for any movement.

Destruction was visible all around him. Walls filled with cuts and holes, flickering lights, bullet casings spread all over the floor, and a very intense scent of blood.

A black crow flew swiftly until it reached his side and promptly transformed into Morgan. "There is no one left back there. I also found the communications room and cleared it out."

"We still don't know if 'He' is here or not. This place is massive," Harry responded.

It had been over an hour since they entered the facility and disposed of a large number of soldiers.

According to the information Morgan put together, this was supposed to be one of the main headquarters of the Argent Flame organization. Perhaps even the biggest one, where they believed their leader could be hiding.

"Too early to say. But… we need to be careful. If this is where the Leader is hiding, then we can expect some absurd resistance." Morgan, who was usually very carefree, sounded tense and wary.

Harry's eyes moved to her and noticed two bullet holes on her chest. "You okay?"

"I'm fine. It's already healing." She took one small vial containing a red liquid and immediately drank it all. Morgan instantly started to look better.

Harry's ears perked up. "I hear some metallic noises ahead."

The duo proceeded with caution along the corridor and eventually passed a door frame leading into a massive room.

Morgan's eyes opened widely. "This is… a factory?" They found themselves standing on a rectangular-shaped balcony that overlooked the chamber below.

There were dozens of massive factory machines still working, but no people in sight.

"A weapons factory." Harry noticed that the machines were producing pieces for the anti-wizard rifles used by the Argent Flame agents. This was not the first factory they had found, but it was by far the biggest one. "This will be a big hit."

Destroying this facility would put a massive dent in the organization's progress.

"Careful, there is someone down there." Morgan's amber eyes were peering into the poorly illuminated chamber. "Looks like a very big guy wearing heavy armor."

"Leave that one to me," Harry suggested. "You go ahead and try to find a way into the basement. Their most valuable assets should be hidden at the deepest level and well protected." If they were lucky, they could find documents detailing the location of all their bases. Then it would be much easier to clean them all out.

Morgan nodded. She transformed into her Animagus form and flew down into the chamber before taking a turn into one of the hallways.

Harry jumped down into the factory and scanned the area. "Mmm… strange." His spell was unable to detect any living beings in this room.

Argent Flame agents had many advanced gadgets, but as far as he knew, they had never developed anything that could escape his detection.

"Luminas." He gave his wand a wave and produced a dozen potent spheres of light that quickly spread all over the chamber, pushing all the shadows away.

He tensed up when he saw the individual that Morgan had mentioned.

There was indeed a large man standing near the back wall. He was wearing full plate armor that covered his entire body, including his face.

This was nothing like what the soldiers wore. This person looked completely out of place in this modern facility while using a medieval set of armor.

Harry approached slowly, wand in hand, ready for anything.

The knight-looking individual still didn't move, even though he should be able to clearly see the intruder.

Someone else would think by now that this was nothing but decorative armor that the factory workers left there, but Harry could detect an intense dark magic on that armor, as well as a hint of rot.

Wanting to test his hypothesis, he gave his wand a quick flick and aimed it in the direction of the armor. "Bombarda."

There was an immediate reaction from the knight. A long sword appeared in his hands and was used to deflect the spell, which ended up destroying part of the wall above him.

"Oh?" Harry noticed by the shine on that sword, as it pushed away his magic, that it was heavily enchanted. "So… are you the guardian of this—"

Harry froze for a moment. He was now standing close enough to this knight to perceive the details on the armor. The heraldry of a lion had been engraved on his chest. It was a very specific one that he was very familiar with.

"That can't be possible… you can't be here," he muttered to himself.

This person could not possibly still be here. Harry had personally seen his corpse countless years ago.

But there was no denying that the armor itself was one he knew very well. "That armor belongs to Lancelot."

This was one of King Arthur's elite knights. A member of the Round Table and one of the fiercest fighters in all of Camelot.

The knight seemed to react to Harry's words. A pair of glowing orbs could be seen through the helmet visor.

Harry detected a clear change in the knight. While before it appeared to be completely passive and only defending against his attack, he was now moving onto the offensive.

The posture of the knight changed, and he held the longsword with both hands in a vertical position. One foot moved forward while the other remained back, and the sword slowly began to shift downward.

"The Lion's Charge…" Harry muttered. This was Lancelot's signature move.

He was starting to believe that this was more than just his armor, and he might be facing a long-dead warrior.
