Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: Design Completed

Chapter 99: Design Completed

Crocodile circled the Quetzalcoatlus again, even running his hands over it for a while. Only when the creature shot him an impatient look did he reluctantly walk away.

Robin, Camon, and the others stood there staring in astonishment, and Buck Aisha was completely dumbfounded.

A pterosaur this massive was even more shocking than seeing a Raptorex—especially when it spread its wings.

Soon, everyone gathered around the Quetzalcoatlus.

Evening.

"Sir!"

Inside a newly built room.

Bawang stood before him, holding a stack of papers.

Jiang Qize took the blueprints and examined them carefully.

They depicted a massive warship two hundred meters long and fifty meters wide, its entire body forged from metal. Along its hull were rows of openings with giant silver cannons protruding outward, accompanied by a jumble of parameters.

The bow was shaped like a golden dragon's head—majestic and imposing—with its jaws open, and from within extended a golden cannon several times larger than the others.

Beneath the ship were numerous jet ports, and behind it, a large circular, shadowy opening.

"What is this…?"

Jiang Qize held the blueprint of the stern, pointing at the circular opening.

"This device uses magnetic force to convert seawater into high-energy propulsion. The resulting burst can launch the ship ten thousand meters in ten seconds, but it's only an instantaneous output—it can't be sustained."

Bawang explained.

Jiang Qize paused. Wasn't this Franky's masterpiece, the Coup de Burst?

But thinking about it, Bawang's abilities now far surpassed Franky's—coming up with something like this wasn't surprising.

"Can you store the converted energy?"

"I can, but I'll need more books."

During this period, he'd asked Robin and Crocodile to buy every book in Alabasta, and he had already read them all.

But it still wasn't enough—he needed more.

"We'll work on that later."

Jiang Qize shook his head.

Bawang's abilities were unquestionable. Given enough time, he could figure it out on his own, but with a large number of relevant books, progress would be much faster.

"Looks like I'll have to track down some scientists."

He muttered.

Books like these weren't something you'd find in an ordinary city.

If Ohara hadn't been destroyed, he could have gone there—there would've been mountains of books.

But unfortunately, it was already gone.

"Still… I heard that when the scholars triggered the Buster Call, they threw part of the Tree of Knowledge's collection into the lake. Who knows if any of it survived."

He'd visit Ohara when he had time.

"Alright, build it as designed. How long will it take?"

Jiang Qize handed the blueprint back to Bawang and asked calmly.

"If all the materials are ready, one month will be enough."

Bawang thought for a moment before replying.

He had accounted for every usable condition before arriving at that estimate.

"Good. I'll get the materials together. Give me a list."

This ship would be his symbol in the future. It had to look imposing and function perfectly.

And he let out a quiet sigh of relief—good thing he hadn't spent all his money on enhancements, or where would he get funds for materials?

Bawang then drafted a long list. Just looking at it made Jiang Qize's head throb.

He took the list and went to find Crocodile.

Rain Dinners, inside Crocodile's office.

"You come to me this late for what, exactly?"

Crocodile lay sprawled on the sofa, a cigar between his teeth, coat draped over him, legs propped up on the desk, staring at him with a thoroughly irritating expression.
