The sky was slowly turning orange. Along with the cool evening breeze, the surroundings were becoming free from their usual deep noises and taking on a pristine quality. š
Anisa and Hasan both turned toward each other without a word and, for a moment, gazed at each other without blinking. That silent moment felt somewhat awkward for Anisa. Hasan's sturdy, youthful face and the six-pack visible through his white shirt held her gaze.
Just as she felt a strange warmth in her heart and was lost in that gaze, the silence was abruptly broken by the sound of Hasan's phone ringing. š³
He took the phone.
"Hello,Jadenā¦ how are you? Long time no talk," Hasan said with a cheerful voice.
After talking for another moment, he said,
"Ah,alright, broā¦ I'll come with my girlfriend," and put the phone down. Anisa silently observed it all. š£
Then, Hasan turned to her and spoke.
"That's an old friend of mine.Haven't met in a long time. Today he wants to take us out for dinner. A few other friends, about four of them, are coming too. You come with me. That way, I can introduce my beautiful wife to them."
His words struck her mind directly. The word "wife" evoked a strange feeling within her.
For a moment, Anisa considered herself.
"Is this dress appropriate to go there?"
She thought,looking at the dress that clung to her body, reaching about three inches above her knees, made of linen. š
Bowing her head, she asked softly,
"Ahā¦Hasan, is my appearance a problem?"
Immediately, Hasan leaned closer to her. Gently turning her face toward him, looking directly into her eyes, he spoke. š«
"No matter how you areā¦ you are very beautiful."
Those words gently tapped at her heart. Unable to say anything, she simply wore a small smile on her face.
Afterwards, both got into Hasan's car to head to the restaurant that would bring a new moment for both of them. š
