Chapter 1 - Act I - Chapter I : The Night Of Betrayal

The rain fell without mercy

Cold drops hit the broken stones of the battlefield, washing away blood that should never been spilled. Fires burned in the distance, but no one came to put them out.

Xturdia stand alone

His sword ws still in his hand, shaking-not from fear, but from exhaustion. His armor was cracked. His breath came out heavy, slow and painful

Moments ago, he was not alone.

He had friends.

He had comrades.

He had people who swore to fight beside him until death.

Now, all of them were gone

Footsteps echoed behind him.

Xturdia turned, hope flashing in his eyes for just once second.

But the face he saw were cold.

"You went to far," one of them said

"We can't follow you anymore," said another.

Xturdia opened his mouth, but no words came out.

He wanted to ask why.

He wanted to ask what he did wrong.

Instead, the group turned their backs on him.

They walked away-leaving him surrounded by enemies, fire and darkness.

That night, the kingdom fell

Xturdia collapsed to his knees.

The sword slipped from his hand and hit the ground with dull sound. Rain mixed with the blood on his fingers.

"So this is the end..." He whispered.

The sky answered him with thunder.

But something else answered too.

A voice.

Low. Calm. Close.

"No...this is the begining."

Xturdia froze.

The air grew heavy. The shadows around him began to move, streching like living creature. They wrapped around his legs, his arms, his chest.

He tried to pull away, but the darkness felt warm.

Comforting.

"You were abandoned," the voice said

"You were betrayed."

"You were used...and thrown away."

Xturdia clenched his fist.

"Yes," hes said quietly.

"Then, take my hand," the voice whispered

"Not as a hero."

"Not as a king."

"But as something far greater."

Xturdia closed his eyes.

And for the first time since his friends left him, he did not feel alone.

When the rain stopped, the battlefield was silent.

But Xturdia was no longer the same
