Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Sky Bar

Both women were socialites in Washington's elite circles. Not only did they come from wealthy families, but they were also stunningly beautiful with incredible figures. No matter where they went, they became the center of attention. Men admired their beauty, while women envied their charm.

"Mavi, you're here?"

"Ladies, let me introduce you. This is Mr. Mavi, the person I was just talking about," Jennifer said with a smile as she stood up. She wore a black off-the-shoulder bodycon dress, layered with a soft pink cashmere coat, accentuating her tall and alluring figure.

Madison and Olivia curiously looked Mavi up and down after the introduction. Then, Madison, who was wearing a black backless evening gown, suddenly smirked mischievously.

"Oh~ so this is Mr. Mavi? Jennifer has been absolutely captivated by your song!"

"Yes! She's been completely enchanted," Olivia added, playfully teasing.

Hearing her friends sell her out the moment they arrived, Jennifer bit her lip in frustration. If she had known, she wouldn't have invited them to the bar!

"I wasn't enchanted! Don't talk nonsense…" Jennifer protested. She might appear cold and reserved in front of strangers, but around friends, she was much more relaxed.

Mavi looked at the three beautiful women in front of him, surprised that the song he had casually played back then had left such an impression on Jennifer.

"Mavi, come and sit," Jennifer gestured for him to take a seat at the table.

In the dimly lit booth, two bottles of 1966 Dom Pérignon sat on the table. The sleek black bottles exuded an irresistible allure.

The 1966 vintage was a rare and prized year for Dom Pérignon. In a 2010 auction in Hong Kong, six bottles had sold for a staggering $1.33 million—an average of $210,000 per bottle.

"Alright," Mavi responded casually, greeting the three women before confidently taking a seat without any trace of awkwardness or hesitation.

As soon as he settled in, a waiter approached and poured him a glass of champagne.

As the effervescent, deep golden champagne was carefully poured into the tall flute, Mavi caught a whiff of something enticing. Whether it was just his imagination or the aroma of the champagne itself, he wasn't sure—but the scent of caramel and malt filled the air.

"Sir, please enjoy," the waiter said gently, handing him the glass.

Mavi brought the glass to his nose and inhaled deeply. It wasn't his imagination. The fragrance of the 1966 Dom Pérignon was truly captivating. He could even detect hints of toasted brioche, black currants, and candied fruit…

"Mavi, let me introduce you properly," Jennifer said, seizing an opportunity for some playful payback. "These two are my best friends, Madison and Olivia. They're both single, you know what that means."

Madison and Olivia both glanced at Jennifer.

Then, they raised their glasses with charming smiles.

"Mavi, try this 1966 vintage champagne. Cheers!"

"Cheers."

Mavi lifted his glass and clinked it against theirs. He wasn't interested in analyzing the subtle games women played—he was here to relax and enjoy the night.

After the toast, he took a sip of the champagne. Immediately, he understood why Dom Pérignon was so expensive. Even as a novice, he could taste the rich fruitiness and the smooth, refined texture.

Above them, the night sky twinkled with countless stars, while the bar's dazzling lights merged with the stunning Washington skyline. After just one sip, Mavi already felt slightly intoxicated by the atmosphere.

As he enjoyed the fine wine and the mesmerizing night view, a short-haired man in a tuxedo stepped onto the bar's central stage. Sitting in front of a black grand piano, he began to sing and play a classic English song.

His piano skills were decent, but his singing ability was average—he didn't quite do justice to the song.

As soon as he finished, Madison and Olivia suddenly remembered something.

"Mavi, Jennifer told us the song you played for her—'You Raise Me Up'—was sung by you. We didn't get a chance to hear it. Why don't you go up and perform it for us?"

Jennifer turned to Mavi, intrigued. Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, revealing just how much she wanted to hear him sing live.

But Mavi simply shook his head.

"No, I'm just here to drink tonight."

Mavi wasn't the kind of man who followed a woman's every request. He had his own ideas and wasn't comfortable singing on stage in front of a crowd—he had never done it before.

"Come on, just one song~" Olivia and Madison pouted, their voices sweet and coaxing.

Olivia even got up, sat beside Mavi, and gently tugged on his arm.

"Just one song, pretty please~?"

Despite their sugar-coated persuasion, Mavi only smiled and shook his head slightly.

Seeing this, Madison suddenly had an idea.

"How about this? Let's play a game. If you lose, you have to go up and sing. Deal?"

"And if I win?" Mavi asked, unfazed.

"If you win… one of us will kiss you. Sound good? Do you dare?" Madison's eyes gleamed as she teasingly glanced at Jennifer.

Faced with such a challenge, Mavi naturally couldn't back down.

"What's the game?"

"Dice roll. One roll each—the highest number wins."

To keep it fair, Madison would play against Mavi one-on-one instead of all three women rolling against him.

"Alright, ladies first." Mavi casually took another sip of champagne. There was no downside to this game for him.

Madison smirked, grabbed a die from the waiter, and tossed it onto the table.

"Six."

"Wow, Madison, you're amazing!" Olivia cheered.
