Chapter 10 - Small Turret, Big Power!

Under the enveloping transmission beam, a small turret slowly took shape in Doflamingo's hands.

The sight made Doflamingo widen his eyes— he had never seen such an incredible method of delivery.

No face-to-face exchange… just pure remote transfer.

Just how advanced is the technology inside that fortress!?

Doflamingo felt a deep shock wash over him.

He couldn't help imagining:

in the future, a technological giant might emerge onto the world stage—from this very island.

But then he remembered Mork claiming he had no interest in fame or power.

That eased his nerves slightly.

Soon, the turret finished materializing in his palms.

Looking at the tiny thing—small enough to hold effortlessly with both hands—

Doflamingo's expression stiffened.

This… is a turret?

Some pistols were bigger than this.

At best, this thing could be called a "hand cannon."

His Adam's apple bobbed.

He felt a sentence rising in his throat that he really shouldn't say…

With a complicated expression, he forced a laugh:

"S-Sir…"

"This is the weapon you're trading me?"

"Why… why does it feel like some cheap gadget you casually threw together?"

No matter how he looked at it, this thing didn't seem "special" at all.

Inside the fortress, Mork let out a contemptuous snort.

"Heh."

"Doflamingo, you really don't know quality when you see it."

Doflamingo's expression twitched.

He forced a smile.

"Sir… perhaps you could explain… this… small… turret?"

Mork snorted again, dripping with disdain.

Doflamingo's lips twitched violently.

He really wanted to curse out loud.

If he hadn't just witnessed how Blackbeard was blasted half to death—

and if he weren't standing so close—

he absolutely would have.

He had just been respectfully polite, yet the mysterious man in the fortress dared hand him this toy.

How could he not be annoyed!?

This "hand turret" in his palm…

facing a pirate worth over a hundred million, it would probably feel like a tickle.

Mork spoke in that aloof, condescending tone again:

"Fine, let me explain."

"Although small, this turret has several excellent features."

"First—it can automatically lock onto targets and fire.

Even pirates with bounties over a hundred million will struggle to dodge it."

Doflamingo raised an eyebrow, glancing down at the turret.

Automatic targeting?

This was similar to the Marine's secret research—the Pacifista.

Those robots could also auto-lock onto enemies.

His irritation faded a little.

"And the second?" he asked.

"Mm."

"Second—this turret requires no ammunition.

The user only needs to inject their own stamina."

Doflamingo froze.

"No ammunition? Just stamina?"

"What kind of insane technology is that?"

This was far beyond anything known to the world.

Even Baby 5 and Buffalo—observing from afar—looked confused.

Their Donquixote Family had sold weapons for years.

They had never heard of a cannon that needed no shells.

Baby 5 thumped Buffalo's back.

"Let's go look too!"

Buffalo was just as curious.

Seeing that the fortress owner didn't seem hostile, he flew toward Doflamingo.

Ignoring their shock, Mork continued:

"Third—although small, its firepower is extremely strong.

It's one of the top turrets of its class."

By now, all of Doflamingo's earlier irritation was gone, replaced with disbelief.

He looked toward the fortress.

"Sir… may I try it?"

"Go ahead," Mork answered simply.

Since they were doing business, Doflamingo naturally had the right to test it.

Doflamingo examined the turret again.

He had wanted to ask how to inject stamina—

but then his eyes widened.

He could feel part of his stamina flowing into the turret on its own.

Just a single thought accomplished it.

Impossible… unbelievable…

At that moment, Baby 5 and Buffalo arrived next to him.

Seeing them, Doflamingo smiled.

"Perfect timing. Help me test this thing."

Baby 5 stood upright on Buffalo's back, instantly excited.

"Being needed by Young Master makes me so happy!"

Inside the fortress, Mork's gaze drifted toward Baby 5.

Ah yes— the "most obedient maid," as OP fans often said.

Too bad she eventually fell for Lao Gai…

Outside, Doflamingo held the Small Turret in one hand.

For a Shichibukai, holding such a thing one-handed was no challenge.

With a single thought, he fired.

A burst of fire erupted— an invisible projectile shot straight at Baby 5.

Baby 5 lifted a white, slender leg, transforming it into a cannon—

but she never fired.

She was struck instantly.

"Ahhh!!"

She screamed and was blown backward, falling straight toward the sea.

Doflamingo flicked a finger, threads shooting out to catch her.

Then he turned the turret toward Buffalo.

Buffalo braced himself.

"Young Master! Fire at will!!"

Doflamingo did not hesitate.

Two successive blasts—

"Bang! Bang!"

Buffalo spun his propeller wildly, generating a storm—

but it did nothing to the projectiles.

He was struck twice and sent flying, coughing blood.

Doflamingo caught him as well, preventing another plunge into the ocean.

After the test, Doflamingo was left in awe.

This turret—

despite its size—

had truly terrifying power.

A single shot could injure a pirate worth hundreds of millions.

And if one shot wasn't enough?

Then fire two, three, four—

There was zero reload time.

Just a thought, and stamina became ammunition.

On a battlefield,

if enough of these were deployed…

they would be absolute nightmares.

Doflamingo licked his tongue excitedly, then looked toward the fortress.

"Sir… your weapons are truly astonishing."
