Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

The door opened, revealing a giant building with advanced technology flying around. Many students were smiling and chatting around the building.

"I could not believe it…"

Aoi stood beside her, smirking with his hands in his pockets.

"Welcome to Qyran Academy, the prestigious academy filled with plenty of students with talent and skill who can lead the world to the brightest future." Aoi smiled at Alune. Alune just nodded her head and continued to admire the view in front of her.

Suddenly, an elderly man walked in their direction with a cane in his hand. His smile was gentle and warm.

"Welcome, Mr. Gen and… Mrs. Lourent."

Alune bowed her head slightly while Aoi just ignored his greeting.

"My name is Vox Lionheart, the principal of Qyran. I assume from what Mr. Sung told me—you are here to enroll in this academy, right?"

Aoi nodded his head, but Alune just stood still.

The old man guided them to his office. Everything around Alune looked too much for her—she didn't deserve it. Alune pulled the hem of Aoi's sleeve slightly. Aoi stopped walking after feeling the pull from behind. He slowly turned around and looked at Alune with a questioning face.

"What?" He looked at Alune, who was fidgeting.

He sighed while looking at her. "Look, I'm just doing what my boss ordered—I'm not here to babysit a kid like you." Alune let go of Aoi's sleeve, and they continued to walk. Alune held back her tears as she still feared what would happen to her.

They arrived at the principal's office. The office looked very spacious and neat. It had normal and minimal decorations. Mr. Lionheart looked at Alune with a gentle smile.

"Have a seat. I want to discuss the current situation of this young lady." Mr. Lionheart sat on the single couch near them. Both of them sat on the couch.

A drone flew into the office carrying many types of sweets. Alune's eyes shone as she looked at the many sweets served in front of her. Mr. Lionheart smiled at her as a sign that she could take them. Aoi just looked at her and continued to talk.

"As my Vice Captain said, she is the next Archaic Variant." He took a sip of the tea that had been served for a while. Mr. Lionheart just nodded.

"We cannot just send her to study at a regular school that is open to many threats. Qyran is the best choice." Aoi crossed his arms while staring at Mr. Lionheart.

"Understood. Well, she is very much welcome to our academy…" Alune stopped herself from munching the cookies in front of her. Aoi beside her sighed as he looked at her not-so-ladylike manners.

"Mrs. Lourent, should we call your guardian for the paperwork?"

Alune shook her head quickly. "Please, no!" Her hands trembled as she remembered the faces of her parents.

"Too late," Aoi said before standing up from his seat. He walked towards the door and opened it. In front of the door stood a man who looked very charming, with brunette hair. Aoi patted the man's shoulder with a smirk.

"We called your brother." He smirked while looking at Alune.

"Brother Aiyen!" Alune jumped from her seat and ran towards the man. The man smiled widely as he saw her running towards him.

"Careful, bunny. You will hurt yourself." He hugged her.

Alune's eyes kept tearing up as she embraced her brother's warmth. "You're here…"

Aiyen just nodded and patted her head.

The three of them continued their conversation again.

After all the discussion, Aiyen filled in the paperwork for Alune. Alune was still there trying to voice her opinion. Aiyen held her hand and smiled, trying to assure her.

"This is for your own good. Don't mind anything, just stay here and study… enjoy your life as a teenager."

Alune looked into Aiyen's eyes. She slowly nodded and smiled at him.

They all walked towards the girls' dormitory. Alune could not believe her eyes as she stared at everything in front of her.

"Wow… it's too… much…"

Aiyen just chuckled. He patted Alune's head and smiled. "Don't think about anything. I could also afford something like this for you."

Aoi just rolled his eyes. "Yeah, for the most famous Wielder and Officer, you sure can."

Alune still could not process what Aoi had just said.

Aoi smirked and walked closer to Alune. "You know the name of the top male officer?" he asked with a smirk.

Aiyen slapped Aoi's back hard. "Stop it, Aoi!"

Aoi laughed as Alune kept thinking.

"Oh, Snowdrop!"

Aoi burst into laughter after hearing that. Aiyen just stood there with a red face. Alune tilted her head, trying to understand the situation.

Aoi, who understood Alune's expression, quickly wiped his tears. "Your brother is the Snowdrop, the hope of Anor." He smirked as he explained it to Alune.

Alune's eyes widened. "What? How come? Didn't you become a doctor in the countryside!?"

Aoi laughed again. Aiyen rubbed his face, trying to calm down his embarrassment.

"I-I lied, because father and mother would not allow me to go to the battlefield as a hero… they just want to brag about me… so I lied about being a doctor…" He looked at Alune.

Alune just nodded with a smile. "Now you're being honest."

Alune walked towards her room. The room was very spacious, with various things that a girl like her would need. Alune was in awe as she looked at her room, which was completely different from her old one. Even her old school could not be compared to Qyran's facilities.

Suddenly, a door creaked open, showing two girls around her age stepping inside.

"Yeah, I asked Daddy about the dress, but as you can see… he's still ignoring me after I told him I want to stay at the dormitory," the long purple-haired girl ranted to the short brown-haired girl.

The short brown-haired girl just chuckled at her ranting.

Suddenly, both of them turned their heads towards Alune, who was standing in the middle of the room, looking at them in surprise.

"Err… hi?" she slowly waved her hand toward the girls.

The short-haired girl smiled and waved back. "Hi, are you our new roommate?"

Alune nodded her head, not knowing she would share the room with two girls.

The long-haired girl looked at Alune and then smiled. "Hi, I'm Yvonne." She extended her hand. Alune responded to her handshake and smiled. "I'm Alune."

The girl with short hair hugged Yvonne from behind and smiled at Alune. "I'm Ollie, nice to meet you!"

Alune nodded with a big smile plastered on her face.

They talked for a while, getting to know each other more. Alune's eyes could not believe that she had just met two daughters of well-known figures in Anor and other countries.

"I'm just a normal girl, Alune. The one who is well respected is my mother." Ollie just smiled while looking at Alune.

The three of them sat on the couch that had been prepared inside their room. Alune slammed her hands on the couch.

"But you're still a very well-known figure!"

Ollie laughed at Alune.

"Well, I'm not as well known as Yvonne."

Alune's eyes widened as she remembered something.

"No way…"
