Chapter 9: Training Begins – Runes, Flame, and War Arts

I finally decided it was time to start serious training.

"First up," I muttered to myself, holding the Supportive-Type Rune Language book.

"Why? Because this will improve my

learning speed. Genius, right? I'm really a genius."

I grinned, patting my chest.

Pride was important—even in the middle of life-or-death reincarnation training.

Supportive runes weren't flashy. They didn't throw fireballs or create giant shields. Instead, they allowed me to integrate magic and skill into my body faster, calm my mind, and enhance my natural strength. In short, they were perfect for preparing me for everything else.

But there was a catch.

Every time I tried to merge the runes with my body, a dangerous side effect occurred. If I pushed too hard, my mana core would go wild, causing mental exhaustion and even risking permanent damage.

In other words, I couldn't just spam it

constantly.

"Well," I said with a shrug, "challenge accepted."

I spent the first week learning basic runes. Every day, I practiced carefully, memorizing symbols, chanting internal

incantations, and watching how my mana reacted. It was precise work. One wrong symbol, one misstep, and my body could reject it entirely.

Like programming a computer—miss a single step, and the whole system crashes.

By the end of the second week, I felt ready. I merged the runes into my body.

"AAA! It hurts like hell!" I shouted, clutching my chest.

"I'm… gonna die," I groaned, falling to the ground.

Hours passed. I blacked out, unconscious, dreaming of flashes of golden symbols and strange, humming energy.

When I finally woke, I sat up slowly.

My body felt… different. Stronger. Calmer. And glowing faintly along my back, a tattoo of unknown symbols appeared, beautifully etched into my skin.

"Not bad," I muttered, examining them. "Nice touch, library."

Next up: Flame Art cultivation.

I had spent a week just preparing my mana, studying the text, and integrating the theory. Then, I began practice.

"F-fuck… this is awesome!" I shouted as flames erupted from my hands.

I felt my mana surge, flowing naturally through my veins. Every motion, every breath, strengthened my newly awakened flame affinity.

The book didn't just teach cultivation—it guided me to feel the fire, bond with it, and use it without wasting energy.

The sensation was incredible.

I could feel raw power humming inside me, almost like electricity. My muscles tensed, my heart raced, and for the first time in my life, I felt truly unstoppable.

Finally… my favorites: Rune Magic and Sovereign War Art.

The rune magic books were simple to explain. They taught me spells, control techniques, and advanced combinations that even a weak wizard in this world couldn't hope to learn on their own.

With my supportive runes and flame cultivation, I was

now ready to absorb them quickly.

And then there was Sovereign War Art—the real fun.

The first form: War Sovereign Gauntlet.

Golden lines appeared in the air, forming two massive gauntlets around my hands. That would be my weapon. My fists alone could now rival any sword or spear.

I didn't need to master every martial art separately. My past life on Earth had already given me basic combat intuition—

boxing, karate, taekwondo, MMA. The gauntlets amplified it.

Every punch, every block, every movement was enhanced by the Sovereign War Art.

I threw a few punches into the air. Golden streaks followed my fists.

Each strike felt heavier, sharper, and precise.

This

wasn't just magic—it was combat art, perfectly merged with my natural ability.

Four months passed in this rhythm.

Runes integrated. Flame affinity stabilized. Martial techniques fused with magic. Every day, I pushed a little further, sometimes collapsing from exhaustion, sometimes laughing in joy as I felt new power awaken.

By the end of the fourth month, I was no longer the weak extra who barely survived.

I was Nero Crimsonflare—the boy who had cheated fate, tamed fire, mastered runes, and wielded the War Sovereign

Gauntlets.

And this was only the beginning.

The academy entrance exam was coming.

The main plot was still intact.

But this time, I wouldn't die.

I would survive. I would dominate.

I would show the world that an extra could rewrite their fate.

And I couldn't wait.
