Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten

Quell placed hand on Quintiel's shoulder,

"Not now, that's enough destruction for one day."

Quintiel yanked his hand off, glaring hard at him. "Don't touch me, you weakling!"

He spread his wings, soared high above them all, a bold smirk on his face, "You might wanna step back, Quell.."

"..This is between ME and Whisper-Realm."

He raised his hands, his golden eyes glistening with menacing light, the storm he was about to cause.

The ground reacted to it, rumbling with fury as Quintiel's magic drew magic from it, every last element was drained of its blue dust.

And like a tornado, it swirled around him

Cilicia appeared, apparently the pending destruction was affecting both Realms including earth.

"What is he doing?" Her voice raised in alarm. "He's going to get himself killed."

Nirit rolled her eyes, "That's a good start."

Cilicia snapped her gaze towards her, "Well.. maybe, but that thing is going to blow up this entire Realm. It's affecting earth too. Only LoudeRealm will go unscathed, but there's no guarantee it won't get a reaction."

" Princess! You've finally come out to play!!" Quintiel absorbed the elemental force, his body radiating with blue energy.

Cilicia's voice dropped to a sullen whisper, but enough to Nirit's hearing; "It's already too late.

. That thing's gonna kill him first."

Nirit looked up at Quintiel, even though she hated this man so much, the thought of him dying flipped her stomach around.

Sure, he was crazy and impossible, but she knew that somewhere admits that chaos lay a muffled voice that just wanted peace.

Just like Cilicia had mentioned, the magic was destroying him from the inside. He closed his eyes, lips shivering like he was about to say something meaningful..

Then, like a stubborn brat-which he was anyway, he snapped his eyes open and glaring at the shivering realm.. its people - Osams, he thundered with the last shed of his energy

"It's over for me.. for all of YOU!!!"

An enormous blast followed. It was slow, very slow.

Then, it pulsed into a wave of crystaline energy, bright, destructive. Its shimmers were loud, like broken glasses falling bit by bit on a metallic face.

Quell plopped to the ground, his body shivering violently like he had cold-drawn fever. It was relatable, no one could stand watching their twin practically commit suicide over something as vain as revenge.

The destructive wave was still soaring towards them, shattering to dust, whatever stood in its way.

Osam troops retreated, but Cilicia stood Infront of everyone. Her wings spread out, desperate to protect everyone from the surging wave.

Soon, Higher-ups emerged from the crowd. They joined Cilicia side-by-side, spreading out their wings too.

The princess bowed her head, "I may have been nonchalant and failed at protecting this kingdom.." she snapped her head up, a determined look, "But I'll die trying!"

"Don't say that, Cilicia." The Captain flew down and stood beside her, spreading out his much broader feathered wings.

He looked at her,

"If anything, you are the greatest. Whisper-Realm deserves a queen like you."

Tears of happiness flooded her eyes, "Too bad that day will never be."

Just then, something glitched from beside Nirit.

"A portal? At a time like this?"

Jentil walked through it. "Osam!" She threw a hug at her.

"Nirit, oh thank goodness you're safe."

Nirit withdrew from the embrace, looking up at the sky, "Well.. not for long.."

"We have to go Nirit. Now!" Jentil grabbed her arm, but Nirit refused.

"Are you crazy? This realm is in danger and you want me to leave?!"

Jentil sighed, a smile curved her lips slightly, " I figured you'd say that."

Nirit's POV

The effect of the magic was so brutal, the Osam protectors were so scared of approaching it. They didn't even dare take another step towards it.

And just as Cilicia had said, Quintiel ended with the wake of the wave. Poor Quell Evern, he looked so devastated.

But what was more important was how to stop the wave before it caused more casualties.

It was already surging towards Quell, but he didn't move, he just sat there. Sullen.

I wanted to get his butt off that place, but my thoughts were interrupted by a glitch beside me.

I turned to see an opening portal.

Wait--

Was that..

Jentil??

She leapt lot and have me a BIG hug, nearly knocking me off my feet.

"I figured you won't be convinced into leaving this place," she pulled out something from her side bag which made my eyes bulge out in disbelief.

'My novelA!'

I didn't have time to ask her where or how she got hold of it. The main thing is that it was, and at the exact time I needed it.

Guess my self-made proverb was right after all.

Jentil lent me one of her feathers, I hurriedly took it and dipped the tip into the now damp ashed soil of the ground.

Thanks to Quintiel's magic, it was all muddy and a perfect replacement for actual ink.

In an urgent bid to stop whatever that was happening, I scratched onto the last page, the only thing I could think of in that desperate moment..

..'The End'
