2 months after…
In Fuyuki City, Emiya Residence.
Sakura entered the room early like she used to. She saw Shirou lying in the ground under a pale blue sheet. She smiled sweetly when she saw how cute he was sleeping. There were other steel-type appliances near him. After a minute or two, she decided to call him.
"Senpai. Senpai," She placed her hand on him to wake him up. "It is already 11 am. Please wake up."
Her hands were warm. Shirou felt this warmth and slowly opened his eyes from his slumber. He smiled at her, saying Usually. "Oh, hey, Sakura, you came by. This is Sunday, you know?"
"Yes. You have been sleeping a lot lately." Sakura laughed by placing her hand on her lips. "It is 2 months since Sabre left for her homeland, right?"
Shirou remained silent, still smiling faintly. He knows she is in ancient Britain, England, in a timeline different from his own. After he and she both destroyed the holy grail in the last year, she returned to her rightful place. Probably serving as the king, as she is.
Shirou scratch his head, smilingly, "She has her own family to take care of."
He stood up from the sheet, brushed off the dirt, and fixed his shirt. With Sakura, he walked to his main house. He said in midway, "I can't rely on her every time, for the sake of protecting me."
Sakura happily replied, "I also miss her. We had lots of fun together."
"Speaking of fun… Isn't Rin, Big Sis Fuji, and Illya making a ruckus there?" Shirou smiled faintly, "I guess they're having a good time, aren't they?"
The house was lively as there were more members in his residence. Though Illya, Tohsaka, Big Fuji, and Sakura had their own homes, they still often came to live with him after the fifth holy grail war. But specifically, after Sabre came, they started living here. The more people here, the more ruckus here.
Shirou looked at the blue sky with some complex emotions. The sounds of birds chirping reached his ears, and the smell of tofu began to fill his nose. He touched the door, with wooden feel glistening around his fingers. He opened it. A child leapt at him, hugging him around his neck. It was undoubtedly her.
There was another person behind her, yelling at the top of their lungs. Shirou wryly smiled at the girl, and the older woman came near him. In the centre of the room, there was a black pigtailed girl drinking tea elegantly.
Sakura, behind Shirou, couldn't hold off her laughter.
"Illya, you puny brat. Come out from Shirou's embrace, or else I'll teach you a lesson." Fujimura Taiga roared. "Why aren't you coming off from him?"
She was trying to pull Illya from Shirou's embrace. Illya cheerfully clinging to Shirou's body without budging made Taiga more furious.
Shirou helplessly sighed, "Illya, get off me. Big Sis Fuji, please stop reprimanding her."
"No, Shirou. If I left, this monster would swallow me to death!" Illya is crying from misery. "I don't want this mad tiger to bite me off!"
The Taiga's face turned into a demon's face. Like a monster, she knocked the girl's back. She lost her consciousness from a mere chop. Illya still had tears on her face after being defeated in a duel against Fujimura.
"Cut it off, both of you." Shirou placed his hand on his face. 'I will just wash up my hands, then later shower.'
Sakura turned on the TV with the remote. The female reporter said those words, which alarmed Shirou.
[The number of incidents of gas leaks has been increasing over the past 2 months. Many people died in this accident. The crime rate in Fuyuki City has been rising significantly over the past 2 months. Some speculation is that cold-blooded murderers roam freely in the open.]
Shirou was still calm now. He knew this was totally unrelated to the previous holy wars. These were from normal crimes in the city. It is futile, he can't stop all of them since he was a student. A career selection sheet will be handed out soon. He hasn't thought of what his dream job would be like.
The only dream he has is To Be A Champion Of Justice.
What would he do?
Surely can't survive without a job.
Since he is also a middle-class student.
Shirou had been thinking about this for the past few days. But he couldn't come up with an answer for it. Choosing a suitable one for you isn't easy after all. He was confused about how to tackle this problem. But his mind was filled with different thoughts about Sabre.
The bath was over; he naturally slipped out of the trance he had been trapped in. He snapped out of it when he heard Rin's question.
"Emiya, you sure seemed to be spaced out a lot from a few weeks…" Tohsaka grinned. "Give him a bowl." "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay, Tohsaka. It is just that…" He paused before answering. "Career Selection Sheet. I can't decide which job I should take, which is suitable for me."
"Oh.." Rin narrowed her eyes; she wasn't the main problem for him. "Just choose what both mind and heart tell you to do. We can't solely rely on one over another."
Shirou picked up the bowl from her. He nibbled the rice and tofu from the table, which Sakura had placed. He kept swallowing the curry with an absent mind. Seeing Shirou like this, all of them didn't know what to do.
"Senpai," Sakura called out.
"Senpai."
"Hey! Shirou!" Fujimura Taiga slammed her fist on the table.
"What?!" Shirou snapped out once again. "You don't have to shout. You know."
"I know. But you're caught up in a dreamy world, you know?" Fujimura Taiga used her chopsticks to eat the dish. "If it is that career selection sheet, you're worrying over nothing."
"I know." He picked up the sliced meat from the plate. "Then I need your help, Big Sis Fuji, after all, I have to go to college."
Rin Tohsaka was intently watching the TV. There was some unease in her mind. Moreover, Shirou was also caught in something she half knew about. After chewing the last bit of rice in her bowl, she placed it on the table. She left to wash her hands.
In her mind, this accident was also a normal crime, nothing to do with magic. Then her mind turned towards murder cases. 1-3 Murder can be done normally, but when done on a massive scale, is it called a normal physical crime?
Rin stopped the tap. She wiped her hand with the towel placed near the fridge. She returned to the room where everyone was at. Illya woke up from the chop's side effect.
Illya looked at the table when she saw only a little rice and tofu left in the meal, then she jumped hurriedly to eat everything she could. She glared at Taiga.
"So you got up, shrimp!" Fujimura Taiga remarked.
Illya pouted and said, "I lose to you, gluttonous tiger." And she made a "Bleh" sound by pulling her eye and sticking out her tongue.
The cross veins popped out from Taiga's head and hands. Flames ignited from her eyes and background.
"You little girl!"
Illya glared at Taiga, and from their eyes sparks flew out as if both were a Tiger and a Phoenix fighting each other.
Sakura couldn't hold back now. Otherwise, this room will become a fighting dojo. She politely pleaded, "can't both of you be friends…"
"We can't." They said in unison, which made Sakura back off a little.
"Still, if you two fight, then there is no food for the evening and night!"
After hearing this, the two of them became humbled and ate without a sound in the room. Sakura smiled after it. Food is vital for them to keep fighting. Both of them are hungry ghosts who can easily under this ultimate weapon. So, Sakura got the soft power.
But both Rin and Emiya were lost in their own worlds. Quickly, Shirou asked her, "Hey! Rin, what are you going to write on the career selection sheet?"
"Me?" She looked at him and replied in her usual calm manner. "I'll be a scientist."
All of them were shocked. Shirou was taken aback, "A scientist, you say… may be that fits you. Since you have high grades and have a direction (Career) to pursue."
Shirou wasn't down. It is because of the memories he keeps longing for. He can't avoid writing a career selection sheet.
"Listen, Shirou." Rin leaned toward Shirou's direction. "I love to be a scientist because I love the subject and the profession, plus there will be a nice salary if I can land at a prestigious university."
"So?" Shirou inquired.
"Find something which aligns with your ideals, love for the profession and lastly salary." Rin pointed her finger at him. "We are humans, we can make, but I try to get a suitable job, so ponder on it."
"Ok. Tohsaka."
In TV display a case.
[Climate Change: There is a high chance of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Be cautious. There is a tornado forming in the Pacific oceans, which make more problems.]
But no one knew that it was calm before the storm—a storm created by someone for a specific objective.
