Blinking against the soft, grey light filtering through a window, she sat up and immediately noticed the differences. Her reflection in the window was someone else entirely: brown hair, strikingly blue eyes, and a very familiar face she vaguely remembered from her Twilight fanfic binge phase—Jessica Stanley.
"Okay," she muttered, sitting up fully. "Apparently, canon decided I needed a remaster."
Before panic could set in, a soft, mechanical voice interrupted her internal commentary.

Jessica raised an eyebrow. "This is…basically everything I ever wanted, isn't it?" She tapped the notebook. "Step one: survive high school. Step two: manipulate bored immortals. Step three..." Her bright grin reflected back at her from the window's glass, "chaos ensues."
Outside, the faint whistle of wind carried the scent of rain and pine. Forks was quiet…too quiet. Perfect.
