Charles stirred from sleep. It was extremely early on the second day. Charles stands up. Stretches. "What are you doing?" I asked.
"I am going to hunt for some food." Charles said with a yawn. He walks out of the cave. Snow was falling and it seemed to put Charles in a foul mood. I pity the Chaos Beast we find. As we walked deep in the forest.
"Why is there nothing here?" I said as I was frustrated.
"What did you hear?" Charles asked. As I close my mouth. I heard nothing.
"I hear nothing." I said looking at him as if he was an idiot.
"Remember back up at camp there a bunch of birds making noise. Now nothing. They shut up now, that's odd." Charles said with a frown.
"So what?" I said what does this have to do with anything?
"Animals are being on instinct and we walked somewhere the bird won't go so that means something scaring them or making them refuse to come here." Charles expanded, sometimes he was too paranoid. Hearing the bird chirping but something was off there was short. Too quick. Much too quick.
"Looks like you were right." I said taking to the sky. There were three. No five. Who many are there.
"Clearly they have been here for some time." Charles said as one came into view it was on a tree it had Snow White fur and yellow eyes with two tentacles coming from the back of its head. It had a cat's body and was the size of a tiger. Charles smiled.
"No way it's been 300 years." I said, filled with nostalgia. A Displacer Beast.
"I heard stories of a Displacer Beast but this is the first time I have seen one in person." Charles said happy. He licks his lisp. "I wonder how it will taste." He said his voice was filled with happiness.
"Be careful, a Displacer Beast is not something to take lightly." I said as it disappeared and vanished into thin air. It hits Charles back. Crimson dripped from the wound. It then appeared in front of Charles. One of its claws dripped with blood.
"Is this the best you got?" Its voice was distorted and it sounded terrible.
"Yeah your voice is clearly a more effective weapon than your claws." Charles said with a joking tone in his voice.
"Hahahaha. That's a good one. Charles." Its voice seemed to come from everywhere. It charged at Charles; he was ready to punch it but it disappeared. Another slash on Charles' back. Blood splattered on the ground.
"Damn it, where is it?" Charles questions but this is one of the many abilities of Displacer Beast. The ability of invisibility.
"Where do you think?" The Displacer Beast asked Charles a question. As once again it appeared behind Charles he turned to face the beast.
"Your interest will make you a great breakfast." Charles said.
"You're just as unruly as him when he was your age." The Displacer Beast said.
"Who is this him you're talking about?" Charles asked, looking at it for answers for his questions. The Displacer Beast gave a toothy grin showing off its fangs.
"Amarok." Was the one word The Displacer Beast spoke. Wait did Loki say something about Brother of Amarok. What is this connection with Amarok?
"Really that's my only clue." Charles complained. He really is bad at hints. But still I have no clue on who he is connected to Amarok.
"Yes it is." The Displacer Beast once again disappeared. As Charles rolled out of the way. Blocking something unseen.
"There you are." Charles said as suddenly it appeared. Its claws were blocked by Charles. The Displacer Beast jumped back. As suddenly another slash was on Charles' back. "But I was sure." Charles said.
"You're quite smart but you don't know what a double is?" The Displacer Beast says with a smugness as if he won the battle.
"What a double?" Charles asked if the bastard stole my trick. Double the special move to me the Queen of Nightmare other can use it but they don't create physical bodies.
"A double is a clone of something that is intangible that looks like you or another to confuse an opponent." The Displacer Beast said. Explains one of my favorite tricks.
"I get it now you created a clone after you disengaged me. It was your clone that jumped back but you stayed and scratched me." Charles explains it to himself.
"That is exactly what happened. Charles." The Displacer Beast spoke.
"Thanks so now I won't fall for it now." Charles said with a smile on his face. "Then I can turn you into my breakfast." Charles blue eyes glow with a hunger that I only had seen once before. When he was seven.
"You have not changed one bit over the years, Charles Pendragon." The Displacer Beast said once again showing his fangs.
"When have we met?" Charles asked, looking at the Displacer Beast.
"On my master orders I brought you food." The Displacer Beast explains.
"Now you're making me feel bad but I am still hungry so oh well." Charles said with a cruel smile. Charging at the Displacer Beast. They were inches apart and then suddenly it disappeared. Charles turned around blocking a slash. Then Charles rolled out of the way of nothing.
"Has anyone said your instincts are way above anyone else's? You have it way above any human and even some Chaos Beast." The Displacer Beast.
"Thank you now if you could stop dodging so I could eat you." Charles said his mouth was drooling. He wiped away his saliva. His belly roared with hunger.
"You really are a different beast when you're hungry." The Displacer Beast said. Flashing his pearly whites once again.
"What do you mean?" Charles questioned. As Charles started to infuse his arm with starlight. It started so small but it started to build up. But it was heavily pressurized.
"You lose almost all strategy and give in to your animalistic traits-" The Displacer Beast was cut off by a massive gust of wind. As Charles punches it up into the air.
"Just because I am hungry I don't give up on strategy. It just means I am motivated to kill you as easily as possible." Charles said with a smile. As we hear the Displacer Beast chuckle it spit out a tooth.
"You're still quite clever. A tricky person to deal with for sure." The Displacer Beast said with a smile on its face. Showing off one of its missing fangs as I felt starlight as the tooth grew back what the hell.
"That's cheating." Charles said snarling at the Displacer Beast. As I looked closer it had a pattern for a Canis Major.
"Did you really think you're the only one with starlight?" The Displacer beast said. "You're not that special." It said before disappearing again. Great this song and dance again.
"You know this is not going to work right." Charles said with a frown on his face. "This is becoming a pain in my ass." Charles said as once again I heard his stomach roar with hunger. Then Charles duct out of the way. Blood dripped from Charles' mouth.
"What?" I said confused as I saw two icicle spears stuck in the place of the right lung. As Charles growled.
"Starlight: Greater Heal." Charles said as he quickly heals the wound it closed shut. "You can shoot ice. Can I know any more powers?" Charles asked sarcastically. As once again I heard his stomach.
"Many more more than you know my friend." The Displacer Beast said showing his teeth they gleamed white. Its yellow eyes seemed to see everything.
"Well this is just great." Charles snarled out he was clearly not happy.
"Goodbye." The Displacer Beast said as a snow storm started. It was so bad I could barely see as it settled it was gone. All the blood and the Displacer Beast it was all gone. What the hell happened.
"What the hell." Charles said looking around it was strange why it would leave so suddenly. "Am I going crazy?" He asked, looking around as he found nothing.
"It could not be a dream? Maybe an illusion." I muttered, landing on Charles' shoulder. This is so strange.
"Och!" Charles said as he jumped up holding his foot he pulled it out it was a fang. Could it belong to that Displacer Beast? So many questions, not a lot of answers. He tied it to his necklace. Right beside that odd bell, Charlotte ring and now the Displacer Beast fang.
"Aaaaaargh!" A massive beast roar boomed through the forest. As Charles walks towards it we see trees snapped like toothpicks. And a few corpses near the bases.
"Still fresh." Charles said moving the corpse arm. Followed by moving its jaws.
"How can you tell that?" I ask. Looking at him, why did play with a corpse?
"Lack of stiffness, the body is warm and he still releases a Chaos Energy." Charles said as he sniffed the air. "Blood smells fresh." He said, looking at the corpse.
"What do you think did this?" I asked what in the hell.
"Probably something strong and huge." Charles said. I get strong.
"I agree with strong but why did you say it is huge?" I asked Charles he looked at me with a smile as he pointed behind him as I cut a tree into six sections. It was a huge tree. It also had a massive foot print.
"That is why I say big." Charles said. "It looks like a bear. But it is much too big to be the small species that Gabriel fought and killed." Charles noted nodding to himself. "Follow it then I can eat it." Charles said, patting his belly.
"Why does your stomach lead you?" I question myself.
"Because I am hungry. As I know you're not one to judge." Charles said as he walked in the ways of the tracks. I was just sitting there as I felt my stomach growl.
"You're hungry." Charles stated it as blunt as always. "You can drink my blood if you're hungry." Charles offered. As my jaws clamped down on his neck. Drinking greedily. It was so delicious. I started to suck faster. After I had my fill I stopped myself.
"Thank you." I said I was nervous because he started pulling the rules on how much blood I can drink.
"No problem." Charles said with a shrug jockling me. I let it go for this once.
"Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh." Now this time the roar sounds so much closer. I heard the sound of Charles licking his lips. It was deep and guttural. The sound was very noisy. As well as being quite annoying.
"What do you think it is?" I asked as Charles once again shrugged jockling me again. "Can you stop shrugging!" I yelled at him. He is hopeless why in the world just stop shrugging please.
"Sorry but I still think it's some kind of bear. That's what I think it is." Charles said, looking at me with a smile on his face.
"At least you can finally eat." I said under my voice.
"Is that worrying about me what I heard?" Charles put his hand behind his ear in a joking manner.
"No it so you can shut up." I said, looking at him with a glare. He shrugs. I swear he is doing this on purpose. Just to get me mad.
"Well I am hungry because everything in nature has to eat or be eaten." Charles said with a smile on his face.
"Why in the world do you have to be smart and yet so dumb." I said. When it comes to combat and tracking he is a genius but when it comes to his emotions he might as well be a toddler. Charles looks at me.
"Since when I am dumb. I could have sworn my IQ test said 130." Charles said with confusion in his voice.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhh!!!" As snow was kicked up flying past us it carried the smell of decay and copper smell of blood.
"Looks like we are getting quite close." Charles said with a smile. "It's really strong. I wonder why it is roaring like that?" Charles questioned himself.
"Why don't you ask when you get there." I said sarcastically.
"Really nope I don't talk to my food." Charles said, putting both heads behind his head. Jockling me again.
"So you're lying now. Displacer Beast." I said to him, He nods.
"It was going to be a trophy after I emptied its body out allowing me to eat it. Also it started talking to me. It was strange." Charles said, putting his hand back into his pocket. He walks forward.
"It was going to be food until you screwed up the hunt and let it spill away." I said challenging Charles.
"Bat wings sound good right now." Charles said, looking at me. I gulped.
"Okay fine you win this time." I said now he is remembering me of Hellsing. Well he is his son so I should not be shocked but still. That was one of the lines Hellsing used.
"That was my first win against you. Maybe I can win more often." Charles said with a smile on his face at least he was smiling again. Let's hope nothing ruins it.
"Don't get used to it." I said. I don't want him turning out like Hellsing. I want him to live a long life.
"Okay." Charles shrugged. I swear he is doing this to annoy me.
