Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Get the Treasure Again

After obtaining the new spaceship, Zod immediately ordered Leto to search the star map and find the location of Earth.

With the enhancement of a super brain and the superior equipment on the new spaceship, Leto quickly pinpointed the location.

However, he raised a practical problem: "General, I have locked onto the place where Jor-El sent his child, but the remaining energy of this spaceship is only enough for us to complete one more ultra-long-distance wormhole jump."

"According to our estimates, we might need at least fifteen more years to finally reach the location of that planet."

Looking at Leto, Zod felt that the excellent traditions of Krypton seemed to have been eroded by those decadent guys in the Elder Council. One must know that the Krypton of the past was a race of interstellar colonizers.

Is a mere bit of energy a problem in front of them, this group of "Supermen"?

Then he said expressionlessly: "Energy is not a problem. Immediately search for the nearest life-bearing planet to us, complete all supplies for the spaceship, and then embark on the long journey."

Fiora listened to Zod's majestic tone and felt that the old General was back!

Soon, Leto, following Zod's command, searched the existing star maps of Krypton and found the nearest life-bearing planet to them, about one light-year away.

Then Leto began to set up a short-distance jump.

As the spaceship once again began to traverse the universe, Zod refocused his mind, preparing to activate the roulette draw.

His consciousness once again arrived at the gigantic Myriad Worlds Roulette, and the shock Zod felt was undiminished.

He silently chanted: "Start drawing!"

The giant pointer swept past one world after another. Zod watched as the names of worlds like Primordial Era and Journey to the West were passed over, and he couldn't help but inwardly lament the missed opportunities.

Finally, the pointer stopped on a world name that was somewhat unexpected for Zod.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining blood origin crystal * 10. This item comes from the Swallowed Star world. After fusion, it can optimize one's genes and enhance strength. Friendly reminder, fusion carries risks, the host needs to be cautious!]

The moment he saw what he had obtained, Zod's heart suddenly pounded.

"Gene optimization. My current body, as a military commander of Krypton, already possesses advanced genes. If I can continue to optimize them, I might be able to achieve super genes."

According to the memories of his two lives, Zod knew that above the advanced genes of Krypton, there existed an undefined 'super gene'.

The possessor of this super gene was named H'el, a true super warrior. However, his existence was not permitted by Kryptonian law.

This was because he was a special clone created through experiments, and cloning technology was a taboo on Krypton. The reason for this goes back to a long-ago period in Krypton's history.

It was a painful, sealed memory, and a racial war that swept across all of Krypton.

The origin of this war was the appearance of clones.

Initially, Kryptonian scientists created clones merely to have them complete difficult and dangerous experiments.

After all, at that time, Krypton had not yet evolved into the later system of procreation through the Genesis Chamber; every Kryptonian was precious.

In this process, they found that clones were incredibly useful, so soon clones appeared in all walks of life, performing the most dangerous and arduous jobs.

Since Krypton was in an era of rapid technological development at the time, this also led to a blind sense of arrogance among everyone.

This made them overlook a crucial issue: clones also carried the 'human' element. They were not thoughtless machines; they too had their joys, angers, sorrows, and delights.

Therefore, facing immense oppression, the clones rebelled. A clone named Kon led the rebel army in a war that engulfed all of Krypton.

In that war, although the Kryptonians achieved ultimate victory and eliminated all the clones, they also paid a heavy price.

Massive casualties occurred, which also became the catalyst for Krypton's later adoption of gene programming.

Similarly, the war further disrupted the balance of Krypton's original environment, thereby accelerating Krypton's demise.

H'el was secretly created during Krypton's final twilight, with the hope of using him to restart interstellar travel and preserve the spark of hope before Krypton's destruction.

He was a friend of Jor-El, and, to some extent, also a friend of Zod.

Zod and Jor-El always concealed his true identity until he had an accident during an experiment and was never heard from again.

Thinking of H'el, Zod's thoughts instantly returned.

He knew very well that although H'el had an accident during the experiment back then, he was perfectly fine.

In fact, during his wanderings in the universe, he even unlocked his Super Kryptonian talent, gaining unparalleled terrifying power.

It can be said that H'el essentially overcame the weaknesses of traditional Kryptonians; kryptonite had very little effect on him, and even if exposed to a red sun, he would not lose his power.

His pure combat strength could even overpower all Kryptonians, including Superman.

"That guy also has the idea of rebuilding Krypton. This might be able to help me."

"However, he also has the flaw of a clone, which is unstable genes leading to large emotional fluctuations, making it easy to go from one extreme to another. If he were to know his origins, it would probably become a big problem."

Regarding H'el, Zod had only one thought: if he were to meet him in the future, even if he couldn't be utilized, he must find a way to obtain his gene sample.

As long as he possessed his super gene sample, he would only need to research and decipher it, then combine it with Genesis Chamber technology, and he could mass-produce New Kryptonians with super genes.

In this universe, ordinary Kryptonians are already a formidable force. If there were a group of Super Kryptonians, he couldn't imagine how beautiful that scene would be.

At that time, no matter Apokolips or New Genesis, New Gods or Old Gods, all could be challenged.

Soon, his thoughts were again broken by a notification sound; the second draw had been completed.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for obtaining Soul Stabilizing Pill * 1. This item comes from the A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality world. It is an excellent auxiliary elixir for resisting inner demons, stabilizing the soul, and maintaining a clear mind!]

Looking at the jade bottle that appeared in the roulette space, Zod felt as if he had been given a pillow when he was sleepy.

The most crucial aspect of fusing the blood origin crystal was to resist the erosion of the killing intent on one's mind, and this Soul Stabilizing Pill happened to have the corresponding effect.

However, Zod was not in a hurry to fuse it immediately.

To be safe, he still wanted to wait until he entered the Solar System, when he could stably absorb solar radiation, before starting.

Even though the current number of sunflowers was already considerable, it still didn't provide him with as much security as directly bathing in yellow sun radiation.
