Inside the walled complex of the Uchiha Clan, isolated from the pandemonium engulfing the village, the atmosphere was tense. Alarm sirens blared, but the Clan, historically isolated and monitored, had not been called to the front lines of the battle. Instead, they had been ordered to remain in the compound and not leave, a task many Uchiha felt was an insult and proof of Konoha's leadership distrust.
Far from the older shinobis who were preparing to defend the gates, a more intimate scene unfolded in one of the rooms of a house, oblivious to the Kyubi's imminent strike.
Two-year-old Uchiha Sora lay curled up on his home's futon. His small body trembled, not so much from childhood fear, but from the awakening of his adult consciousness.
