Chapter 39 - The Goddess of Prosperity Appears

The nauseating aura Benjamin felt came from the angel feather.

The cabin door opened, and the scorching heat became even more intense, as if the entire world had suddenly brightened a bit.

It was like suddenly turning up the brightness of a phone screen from 90% to 100%.

Benjamin sensed something was wrong!

It made sense that if even a backward country had Children of God and a Goddess of Prosperity, powerful nations must also have their own beliefs.

With a thought, he contacted the Lighthouse Mark and chose to return.

The surroundings changed again.

The craters left by the bombs along the Ganges gradually healed!

The murky Ganges water that had splashed onto the banks began to purify, slowly floating and converging...

The flesh and blood of the priests who had died on the field rotted, flowing and merging together, coalescing into a new 'Hastar' lair.

The water in the river also converged towards the sky, condensing into a transparent woman fifty meters tall. The 'Hastar' nest rose up and flew into the woman's abdomen.

Streaks of fascia and blood vessels extended and grew from the 'nest' in the abdomen, covering the transparent body.

This woman, whose body was made of flowing water and whose movements are driven by vascular fascia, opened her eyes. Within her pupils, blue water vortices spun rapidly, as if expressing her anger.

"Πστη!"

A deep, incomprehensible roar erupted from the goddess of prosperity's mouth.

She struck out with her right hand, causing the Ganges River to dry up, its flow halted, and a hundred-meter-high wave surged forth, carrying her hand towards the army.

These insignificant humans who had harmed her children, once the food she distributed to her divine children, the food she raised for them, dared to devour their master!

The red-robed old man who emerged from the cabin, the instant he saw the enormous water monster attack, produced a flawless white feather, seemingly both real and ethereal.

Many of these expeditionary soldiers were Protestant believers, and the bishop naturally wouldn't stand by and watch his children suffer at the hands of a water monster.

Bishop Aslan clasped his hands together, holding the feather to his chest, then closed his eyes and recited a prayer.

"The Lord says, those who have shown their power and besieged us will have the curse of their words and deeds returned to them."

A ripple burst forth from the feather, sweeping across the army like a protective shield. This ripple posed no harm to ordinary people.

However, the surging waves of the Goddess of Prosperity, upon contact with the ripple, seemed to lose their strength and splashed vertically to the ground.

The instant her right hand touched the ripple, it too vanished like a wave, leaving only the twisting red fascia at her wrist...

"Return!"

Benjamin wanted to watch the battle, but dared not risk it again, choosing to retreat the moment the ripple struck.

Benjamin passed through a barrier and arrived at the void and darkness of the settlement space.

His body has returned to the appearance of the doctor's leather case when he entered the lighthouse.

Text began to appear before his eyes:

[Plot Summary]

[Anchored World This Time: Tumbbad]

[Survival mission completed by default, 500 Survival Points gained]

[Completed Story Missions: Enter the Well of God (1000 Survival Points), Kill the Son of God (36000 Survival Points)]

[Story Score: S]

[Settlement complete, settlement space disappears in 10 seconds]

[Choose to return: Reality or Lighthouse]

Is the exploration progress only 43%?

However, both churches and Indian gods have appeared, which proves that this world is very deep, so it's understandable that my exploration progress is less than 50%.

Benjamin recalled the 'Story World Identity Retention Permission' unlocked when exploration progress reached 50% last time, and the 'Root Fragment*1' given for 50% exploration progress and completion of all missions.

The 'Root Fragment' disappeared directly into the Lighthouse Mark like a shard of transparent glass.

He tried using the identification function, but there was no response.

However, recalling the Lighthouse's friendly reminder that unless he died, no one else could obtain the Root Fragment from the * Hellraiser * series, he didn't dare go to the Lighthouse for advice.

After all, "a man is innocent, but possessing a treasure is a crime," and the Lighthouse wasn't a safe place.

"Return to the Lighthouse."

If you can't figure it out, just don't think about it. You'll understand when you're stronger.

After this enhancement, Benjamin felt his mental perception was much stronger.

The surrounding darkness dissipated, and he was already standing in the Lighthouse Plaza, without feeling dizzy.

Benjamin activated the Lighthouse Mark with his thoughts and entered his private room in the Lighthouse.

Once in a safe environment, Benjamin calmed his mind and began to review, but the more he reviewed, the angrier he felt.

It happened again! It happened again!

He was once again forced out of the story world by an irresistible force.

Having entered the plot world twice and failed to complete the basic survival tasks on time both times, if this had happened in the God's Domain of his previous life, he would have been erased a long time ago.

Twice he entered the story world, and twice he failed to complete the basic survival mission on time.

If this were in the God's Space described in the past life's novels, he would probably have been wiped out long ago.

"I'm still too weak!"

Benjamin sighed and secretly vowed that he must not be like this in the next scenario world. What if he loses control of the world and can't handle it?

After some reflection, he activated the Lighthouse Mark and checked his survival points:

Lighthouse Number: SL914

Identity: Tower Guardian

Strength: Mid-Tier 1

Survival Points: 19401

This is after deducting the teleportation fee for carrying the money pouch.

Benjamin took out the goddess's money pouch and silently recited "Appraise."

[Appraisal cost 1400 survival points. Confirm?]

It's so expensive! But the more expensive, the better the item.

There's still a lot he doesn't understand about this item; it relates to an idea he has.

"Appraise!"

[Survival points deducted successfully]

[The Goddess of Prosperity's Money Pouch: Originating from the world of " Tumbbad".

A natural organ of the Goddess of Prosperity, containing strange abilities.

It can absorb environmental energy and condense gold coins on its own. The material is tough and can withstand damage below Tier 3. It has a self-repairing function.]

The appraisal information provided by the lighthouse made Benjamin's eyes light up.

'Resistant to Tier 3 damage, self-repairing.' This was exactly what he needed.

With a thought, Benjamin went to the silver-armored stall in the square and bought a set of surgical instruments and 10 bags of blood plasma, then returned to his private room.

That stall was still there, but this time it's a white-haired woman, and she's wearing the same armor.

Benjamin placed the surgical instruments and all the blood plasma on the table.

He picked up the goddess's purse, examined it carefully again, and, deciding it was worth a try, picked up the surgical instrument.

He slowly cut open his left chest with the blade, revealing his bright red, beating heart.

Benjamin didn't use his absorption ability, fearing that the wound would require another cut to heal.

Blood flowed down his chest onto the ground, and he felt the breath of death—a primal fear.

He took a deep breath and widened the wound. Intense pain surged into his brain, but gradually he felt numbness and warmth; the pain disappeared.

He then picked up the goddess's purse and stuffed it into his wound, bending the blood vessels around his heart and inserting them along with his heart into the purse.

The goddess's purse... no, it should be called Life Box.

The Life Box tightly enveloped Benjamin's only weakness, his heart, leaving only a slit at the top.

After performing the heart surgery, Benjamin's mind flickered, the blood on the ground dried, and he tore up two more bags of blood plasma, completely healing his chest wound.

He touched his chest to check; there was no pain or discomfort, only a feeling of something foreign inside.

He knew he'd get used to it.

His right hand touched the scalpel and the blood plasma, and everything disappeared from the table, entering the gold coin space on the first level of the Life Box.

His senses activated again, tearing open the 12 bags of blood plasma that appeared in his hand and moving them back into the deeper space of the Life Box.

Benjamin took out a scalpel and gently made a cut on his hand.

His senses connected to the deeper space of the Life Box, and the partition within that space opened.

Blood flowed directly from the deeper space into a layer of gold coin space, appearing beside his heart.

The blood disappeared, and the injury on his hand healed.

According to the Lighthouse's assessment, attacks below the third tier could no longer kill him in one strike.

As long as he wasn't captured and his Life Box removed, he could continue to repair himself.

It was a perfect surgical modification, and Benjamin was extremely satisfied.

He was eagerly looking forward to the day when he can, like the legendary god, Styx, from the ancient legends of his past life, roar out a declaration that will spread throughout the lighthouse.
