Chapter 64 - Chapter 64

Over the next few months, Roy spent most of his time with his lovers—Grayfia, Velgrynd, Velzard, Scáthach, Sif, Amora, Lorelai, Death, Infinity, Natasha, Maria Hill, and Hela—enjoying quiet moments, shared meals, and long conversations. Occasionally, he went on private dates with Wanda or Helen Cho, giving them special attention while balancing his responsibilities.

One evening, while flipping through the news, Roy's eyes darkened at the report: a devastating blast at the UN summit, and King T'Chaka of Wakanda had been killed. Roy knew that this tragedy would likely shake the Avengers' foundation—some would resign, others might continue—but the organization was headed for a reckoning.

He called Wanda. "If you want to resign, Wanda… you can work for me instead," Roy said, his voice calm but commanding. "Or, you can move into my mansion. You don't have to risk your life for others anymore."

Wanda hesitated, then nodded. "I'll… I'll think about it. Thank you, Roy."

The next day, General Ross arrived at the Avengers building, carrying files that required signatures for treaties and oversight. Natasha and Wanda quietly informed him that they intended to resign. Ross looked surprised, expecting pushback, and mentioned that military monitoring would normally apply.

Before he could finish, a call came in from higher political and military authorities. After hearing it, Ross's jaw dropped. "If Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff wish to retire, they are free to do so. No monitoring will be imposed."

Both Natasha and Wanda simply nodded. Around the room, heads turned in astonishment. Only Tony, Wanda, and Natasha seemed to understand why—they knew this was Roy's doing behind the scenes.

Ross, still stunned, nodded again and allowed the resignations. Meanwhile, Tony, seeing a private message from Roy, smiled faintly. The message read: "Just resign, it's better to be in control and not monitored." Tony looked at Ross and signed the forms. "I'm resigning too," he said.

Rhodey, watching his longtime friend, shook his head with a smirk. "Well, if he's out, I'm out too," he said, signing the paperwork. Ross reluctantly approved.

One by one, Tony, Rhodes, Natasha, and Wanda left the building. Barton, choosing his own path, resigned as well. Only Sam Wilson, Vision, and Steve Rogers remained—they didn't want to leave, choosing instead to fight for their place in the Avengers.

Later, Roy called Tony to his mansion. When Tony arrived, slightly curious, he asked, "Why did you call me here?"

Roy's soldier escorted a man into the room. Tony's eyes widened as he recognized him: Bucky Barnes. Roy then played a video for Tony—Bucky's past assassinations, including the murders of Howard and Maria Stark. Tony's face hardened with horror.

Roy stood silently, letting the weight of the video settle. "Bucky was brainwashed by Hydra," Roy said finally. "He's carried out many missions, including killing Howard and Maria. This is who he is now."

Tony sat back, conflicted, staring at the footage. "So… what do you want me to do?" he asked quietly, his voice heavy with indecision.

Roy leaned in, calm but firm. "You have a choice, Tony. Either send him to jail… or deal with him permanently. I want your decision."

Tony's eyes flicked to Roy, the gravity of the situation sinking in. He knew any action would weigh on him, morally and emotionally—but Roy's presence gave him the clarity and resolve to make the choice.
