Greta, Kiel's mother sadly stared at kiel sleeping. A lone tear escaped from the corner of his eyes as she stared at Ezekiel's lying form on the bed. Tears flowed freely from his closed eyes,still on his sleep. Greta shook her head sorrowfully ' Why does he have to suffer this?' she thought.
The early morning rays of sun peeked through the room curtains. Ezekiel eyes fluttered open,he quickly squinted his eyes due to the sudden bright morning light. He soon noticed his mom sitting on the couch in his room. He suddenly noticed they there was tears in his eyes. He quickly wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes,he couldn't believe that as he cried in his dream he had also be crying in reality 'So it was all a nightmare?!' Kiel thought to himself. He quickly tried to gather himself " Good morning,mom" he quickly greeted her trying to act normal.
Ever since the day he turned six he had constantly had nightmares. For years they had tried to find a way to stop the nightmares but to no avail. Today was the day he was turning sixteen everyone has high hopes for him because the day you turned sixteen is the day you unlock your gift.
Kiel being the direct and only heir of the Maverick clan,had a lot of responsibilities the moment he turned sixteen. And today was that faithful day.Kiel shook his head . 'Why did I turn sixteen?! 'he complained to himself. Greta watched her son in silence for a while before she stood up to leave .
Immediately she left the room she sighed. Greta hoped that the nightmares would stop as soon as he turned sixteen but it seemed she hope couldn't change Kiel's ordeal.
Meanwhile,Kiel began pondering on his nightmare. ' Who was that silver-haired woman in my dreams?!' he thought . After pondering on it for a while he shrugged it off. He quickly walked to the bathroom to prepare. Today was going to be a eventful day so he had toget ready. As soon as he entered the bath room he saw a hot bath already prepared for him . He slowly dipped himself inside while thinking of what could be his gift.

In the Northern empire. Humans, Witches and Shades swelled in the Northern empire while, Faes, Werewolves and Vampires stayed in the southern empire.
For centuries both empires had been in a state of constant war. The only way humans could still stand their ground was due to gifts and dragon guardians. Unlocking one's gift grants them a boost in their natural strength and they could then perform some inhuman things. But a dragon guardian like him were known for having more than one gift . And once he unlocks his gift he would automatically learn how to summon dragons.
