Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: An unknown graffiti

This is absolutely not a Shura field!

Naruto has never crossed any boundaries with Tenten. Their previous interactions were nothing more than friendly teasing, and he has never behaved flirtatiously toward Sakura.

It's normal for friends to chat and have some physical contact, right?

Moreover, Sakura is not Naruto's confidante—their friendship can at most be described as revolutionary.

Yes, revolutionary friendship. Naruto felt he had found the perfect place to belong.

So, her being upset is truly unreasonable!

However, considering that this girl, aside from her skills, still has the mind of a little girl and is somewhat sensitive and fragile, Naruto instinctively explained to Sakura:

"A few days ago, I bought some ninja tools for her family and helped her with a few tasks. That way, she'd be in a better mood when she sees me."

Sakura said nothing, just smiled as Tenten walked toward him.

"Naruto, when will you come see me again?"

Naruto had already promised Tenten that he would spend time with her whenever he was free.

After all, most of her time was either at the shop or on missions with the physical training class. Gai and Lee lack emotional intelligence, so only Neji occasionally spoke to her.

Naruto's presence suddenly made her mundane life interesting.

"Huh?" Sakura unconsciously raised her voice and looked at Naruto.

"Ah~ You mean buying ninja tools? I'll come find you after I pass the preliminaries." Naruto ignored the confusion in Tenten's eyes and waved behind him. "Hey, Lee, long time no see."

Shiori approached with a solemn expression, glaring at Xiaoying.

"Finally… If you hadn't come, my head would've swelled again," Naruto thought, secretly relieved.

According to the original story, it was now Lee's turn to perform.

Lee stepped forward confidently, showing his teeth. "You're Xiaoying, right? I've been following you for a long time, and many boys have pursued you…"

Before he could finish, Sakura waved her hand. "No, we absolutely don't have a chance. Speaking of which, Naruto…"

"Ah?" Little Lee felt like he had fallen into an ice cave—he hadn't expected the girl in front of him to remain so calm.

Meanwhile, everyone's attention seemed to focus on Naruto, who kept explaining everything.

"Naruto-kun…" Little Lee whispered, eyes burning with determination.

He hadn't had enough fun last time, so now he was determined to try his hand.

Neji, behind him, stepped forward and said, "Let's go, Lee, Tenten."

He looked at Naruto deeply before walking ahead. Tenten and Lee hesitated, then followed.

Back in Konoha, Neji took time to consult the elders in his clan and learned that the notorious Nine-Tails resided in this person's body.

In other words, the more the villagers despised him, the more at ease he was, and the more easily he could handle Lee's taijutsu.

Impressive…

After a while, the seventh-grade students also entered the classroom, creating a tense atmosphere.

Sakura didn't believe Naruto's words, but after Lee distracted her, she had nothing to say and was interrupted by Naruto's rapid-fire explanations.

She suddenly felt a tightness in her chest—not a secondary development issue.

Seeing all her strong teammates focusing on Naruto, Sasuke's anger surged, but he could not vent it.

With the situation finally calming down, Naruto breathed a sigh of relief and suddenly felt peaceful.

The three reached the classroom, just like in the original story, only to be stopped at the door by two Jonin disguised as ordinary people—Izumo and Kotetsu.

"Hmm, seems no time travelers nearby… huh?" Naruto thought, when suddenly Sakura approached expressionless. A clearly visible blue chakra gathered in her right fist.

"Listen, a Chunin is like a squad leader. Any failed missions or fallen subordinates are his responsibility… wait, what are you planning?!"

Before Izumo could finish, a girl with a pink high ponytail charged like a tiger, her punch hitting the floor with a sonic boom!

"Prosperity!!!"

"Prosperity!!!"

The nearby Genin hadn't reacted yet and were thrown off by the shockwave from her punch, feeling extremely awkward. Izumo didn't have time to react, and nearby Zeti signaled him not to move.

A boy with black hair and blue clothing held a kunai against Izumo's neck, while Zeti pressed a long-handled kunai against Sasuke's chest.

Sakura pounded the ground repeatedly, glaring at the two: "Stop playing with illusions and leave here immediately."

Naruto was stunned. Were these two hit by a cannon? How reckless!

He quickly stopped Sakura from attacking them and signaled Sasuke to lower his kunai, saying he wanted to talk to the brothers properly.

Smiling apologetically, Naruto said, "Haha, sorry, my two partners are in a bad mood today. My apologies."

"Everyone's busy. Why don't you two reveal the illusion? Honestly, anyone could see it."

Sasuke glanced at Naruto. "So you're the peacemaker, huh?"

Zeti's face twisted in anger. "Are the Genin so arrogant now?"

Just as he prepared to strike, he felt a sudden lightness in his hand. Ahead, the long-handled kunai had snapped in two!

He turned to the blond, blue-eyed young man, who looked at Zeti with a playful expression. "Repeating something once or twice is fine, but repeating it again is rude, don't you think?"

For some reason, Zeti felt a surge of rebellion, his hairs standing on end.

His eyes had looked red just now… was he seeing things?

"Count, count—you may pass," Izumo broke the illusion, allowing everyone through, and then left with Zeti.

The Genin stared at Naruto in confusion, questioning their own lives.

His method was far ahead of them. Is this really Genin-level?

In the shadows, the two hid in a corner, taking deep breaths. Izumo whispered, "That pressure just now…"

"Strange," Zeti said quietly. "I felt something, but it disappeared suddenly."

"That's his usual trick," Izumo reminded him, then sighed. "Looks like this Chunin Exam will be interesting."

Because the moment came and went so quickly, neither of them was distracted.

Elsewhere…

"What technique did you just use?" Sasuke couldn't help asking Naruto.

"Secret," Naruto said mysteriously, smiling, and didn't answer.

Sasuke snorted and turned away, digesting his shock alone.

Sakura whispered, "Was that the Nine-Tails?"

"Ah."

This was the result of Naruto's special training during this period. He condensed a small amount of Nine-Tails chakra into a thin strand, maximized its hardness, and instantly split the kunai in two.

There were many similar feats. As a ninja, his assassination skills had improved significantly.

The three quickly reached the classroom door, where Kakashi was already waiting.

"You three are here—no surprise," Kakashi said with a smile. "Ready?"

"Of course," Naruto said, about to push the door open.

Suddenly, Sakura, extremely serious, tapped Naruto on the shoulder.

Following her gaze, Naruto noticed the July sun streaming through the window, falling on the three of them. Near the window, there was a faint, small graffiti, easily overlooked.

Naruto looked closer.

The graffiti depicted a boy with a spiky head, fox whiskers, and a tongue sticking out.

A chill ran from his heels all the way to the top of his head.
