Chapter 31: Killing a Fury.
Then things got even stranger.
Percy's older brother James pulled out a ballpoint pen out of nowhere and tossed the pen through the air towards him
Mrs. Dodds lunged at Percy.
With a yelp, he dodged and felt talons slash the air next to his ear. Percy snatched the ballpoint pen out of the air, but when it hit his hand, it wasn't a pen anymore. It was a sword-----a complete copy of Mr. Brunner's bronze sword, which I didn't know that James had a copy of Mr. Brunner's bronze sword.
Mrs. Dodds spun toward Percy with a murderous look in her eyes.
His knees were jelly. His hands were shaking so bad that he almost dropped the sword.
She snarled, "Die, honey!"
And she flew straight at him
Absolute terror ran through his body. He did the only thing that came naturally: Percy swung the sword.
The metal blade hit her shoulder and passed clean through her body as if she was made of water. Hisss!
Mrs. Dodds was a sand castle in a power fan. She exploded into yellow powder, vaporized on the spot, leaving nothing but the smell of sulfur and a dying screech and a chill of evil in the air, as if those two glowing red eyes were still watching us.
We were alone.
Nobody was there but us
I use my rare job shadow monarch to make the Fury into my shadow monster it works and now she's a part of my shadow monsters. Percy's hands were still trembling. He thought that his lunch must've been contaminated with magic mushrooms or something.
Chapter 32: The Big cover-up of Mrs. Dodds.
Had we imagined the whole thing?
We both went back outside.
It had started to rain.
Grover was still sitting by the fountain, a museum map tented over his head. Nancy Bobofit was still standing there, soaked from her swim in the fountain, grumbling to her ugly friends. When she saw us, she said, "I hope Mrs. Kerr whipped your butts."
We both said, "Who?"
"Our teacher. Duh!"
We blinked. We had no teacher named Mrs. Kerr. We asked Nancy what she was talking about.
She just rolled her eyes and turned away.
We asked Grover where Mrs. Dodds was.
He said, "Who?"
But he paused first, and he wouldn't look at us, so we thought that he was messing with us.
"Not funny, man," We told him. "This is serious."
Thunder boomed overhead.
Oh that would be my pen said James. Percy gives me back my pen.
We went over to him
"Sir," we said, "where's Mrs. Dodds?"
He stared at us blankly. "Who?"
"The other chaperone. Mrs. Dodds. The pre-algebra teacher."
He frowned and sat forward, looking mildly concerned. "Percy, James", there is no Mrs. Dodds on this trip. As far as I know, there has never been a Mrs. Dodds at Yancy Academy. Are you both feeling alright?"
