[Bounty scenario: Save your friend.]
[Difficulty: C.]
[Description: Two constellations want you to save the incarnation Kim Dokja, who is supposed to be your friend.]
[Time limit: 11 minutes.]
[Reward: Baseless survival (Stigma), Persistence (Stigma).]
[Penalty for failure: The disappointment and resentment of The masochist of Joseon and The dead man who came back.]
[Special note: This is a joint scenario given by two constellations.]
Just as Dokja reached the island, some of the incarnations who were chasing him with flight also reached the island along with him.
Ken, who was also chasing them, reached around the same time as others. He didn't know if those guys just didn't know that he was against them, or they were just ignoring him, but they were too busy looking for Dokja.
Well, the most likely is that they already started to chase Dokja when Ken had killed some of the people there.
But just as they started to search for Dokja, a girl came up to them and all she did was to warn them not to stay here and go back. When some of them didn't want to, and even attacked her, she simply cut off their arms like they were nothing.
Afraid, all the people retreated for now. But Ken could see that they were simply just changing the place they would enter here from. Meaning, they just had to come here from a place where Jihye couldn't see them.
But as she noticed Ken, who was still there. She pointed her sword at him and asked him to go away just like the others.
"You are Lee Jihye, right?"
She looked a bit confused at first, but quickly changed her complexion, thinking she is famous. She really was a lot like a real teenager early on in the series.
Just as she was about to ask him as to who he was, Ken cut her off and started saying.
"You remember me, right? We met during the first scenario."
Jihye stood there, still confused.
"Uhm. I meant, after the first scenario. At the convenience store. We met, right?"
Only after hearing this, did Jihye finally remember who Ken is. "Ah! You are that bearded guy, right?! Where is your beard now?"
"... Is that the first thing you could ask? Well, about that, I got rid of it."
"... I see. Anyway, you should get off the island now, master told me to not let anyone come here." She said, still pointing her sword at Ken.
"Master? Are you talking about Joonghyuk? Then I think you don't have to follow his orders right now. I'm someone he knows and… I owe him something, which is why he called me here."
Jihye started contemplating if she should believe him or not, but finally, she decided to believe him. Since, even if he were to lie, Joonghyuk is the one they were talking about. If he lied, he would have to really pay Joonghyuk a debt.
Even then, Ken didn't necessarily lie. Since he does know Joonghyuk. And he does owe Joonghyuk something… a beating specifically. Joonghyuk must still remember the time from the king's selection. And if he did lie, the only lie would be that he said that Joonghyuk called him.
Just then, Jihye calls Dokja out, who was literally hiding behind a tree. As those two were talking about something, one thing Ken really agreed about with Jihye is that there was no point in Dokja hiding, at all.
Since he could be easily spotted with the mark on top of him. As he finished talking with Jihye and started to head towards the center of the island, specifically the place where the fifth catastrophe was. The catastrophe of floods, Shin Yoosung will be in.
Just as Dokja ran away both Ken and Jihye stood there silently, waiting for someone to break the awkwardness. And the one to break it was Jihye.
"Anyway. Is it true that you have regeneration?"
Ken, at first was a bit confused, as he didn't expect Jihye to know it, since she never witnessed it. Or did he tell me about that after the first scenario? He couldn't exactly remember, but that must not be it, since if he did, then she wouldn't need to confirm.
Just then, he suddenly remembered that there were four constellations instead of one during the time when he first gave away information about his attribute window after the first scenario.
Now, the dots finally connected. The fourth one must have been the Maritime war god for sure. He kind of suspected it, but he wasn't sure.
"Ah, that? Yes, I have it. Did your constellation tell you about the information he got for free just being there?"
Hearing it, Jihye tried to retaliate at first. But suddenly.
[Constellation Maritime war god says that he was only there and didn't intend to.]
Seeing it, Jihye suddenly stopped, as if her words were stuck in her throat.
"Uhm. Anyway, if it is indeed true, then what is the biggest feat you committed using your regeneration? Heh, it can't be that better than master's resuscitation–"
"I stayed alive and fought without a heart, regenerated it, and also defeated the catastrophe of questions along with Dokja and Joonghyuk."
Cutting her words off, Ken said that. As he immediately started to run towards the direction where Dokja went.
Just as Ken was going to the direction where Dokja and Joonghyuk were in. A notification appeared.
[Catastrophe of floods is awakening.]
[A new main scenario has started.]
[Main scenario 5: The catastrophe of floods.]
[Difficulty: SS.]
[Description: Defeat the catastrophe of floods, Shin Yoosung.]
[Time limit: None.]
[Reward: 100,000.???]
[Penalty for failure: Destruction of Seoul dome.]
Just as this notification came up, Ken stopped being laid back and immediately rushed towards the direction as fast as possible.
[The way of the wind (lvl 5) has been activated.]
The way of the wind was not only a convenient skill that allows extremely creative attacks. But again, its main purpose is to play support. And even among the support, it mainly focused on movement. Meaning, a level five way of the wind paired with agility that breaks the stat limit, Ken can move at a speed that breaks through the speed barrier, easily.
Just as Ken arrived at the place. A beam of light covers his eyes, and just as it disappears in a second. He sees the scene he did not want to see. At least, not right now.
[You have failed the bounty scenario.]
[Two constellations are extremely disappointed in you.]
[Two constellations are discussing if they should let you off, since this was unexpected.]
Ken was standing there in daze, looking at the dead body of Dokja, who had a giant hole on the side of his body. He knew Dokja can resurrect, but seeing Dokja die up close was a bit shocking for him. More so, he also failed the scenario and his entire plan had been messed up, the one that he planned for nearly five days.
As he was in a daze, he didn't realize that Shin Yoosung had created a portal of sorts, which is how a flood of monsters had started to come. Which must be why she is called the catastrophe of floods.
And Ken only got out of his daze after he was attacked by a monster. Just as the monster attacked him, Ken immediately dodged it and threw a really small dagger at its head, killing it.
As he threw multiple small daggers at multiple monsters, all of them died instantly, as they were targeted at their head.
[Telekinesis (lvl 7) has been activated.]
Suddenly the daggers started to fly and go through the heads of monsters, killing multiple of them each second.
[Daggers of lost caravan.]
[Grade: S.]
[Description: Multiple small, durable, and extremely sharp set of daggers. For some reason they were lost with a caravan. Most probably stolen. They are too small to properly hold in your hands. Who knows what use one could have for them.]
It might not look like it, but Ken had been buying a lot of random weapon boxes during the time and picked up only the things he needed, as for the ones he didn't, he simply put them up for auction, hoping for them to be sold.
As he killed many of the smaller monsters, the daggers flew back into his pocket. And he took out a baton of sorts, which suddenly extracted into a spear.
[Silver staff spear.]
[Grade: S.]
[Description: A heavy silver like spear. It is extremely durable, sharp, and flexible. Using mana, one can control it and do a few things. Such as making its blade retract into it and turning it into a staff, or retracting the size in order to turn it into a club or a baton. Gives +2 to strength when held separately.]
When he looked towards the direction where Shin Yoosung was in, he saw that she had already beaten Joonghyuk up, and tied him up with some weird mummy looking monsters.
As he threw the spear at her, she easily grabbed onto it, almost like she knew it was coming, without even looking at it.
As she looked at him, the spear that she was holding suddenly flew out of her grip and came back to Ken.
[Thread manipulation (lvl 8) has been activated.]
As she looked at Ken, he used the way of the wind and ran up towards her without giving her a chance. Yet, she easily blocked his attack. As she stared into Ken's eyes, she asked.
"Who are you? Captain seems to have changed this regression a lot."
