After Fulen paid for the training, Wilson had no further questions for him.
Fulen looked at Wilson, who instantly became aloof after receiving the payment, and couldn't help but feel that people nowadays were truly degenerating, with their hearts no longer pure.
Being sensible, Fulen took his leave.
The prosperity of Heink District caught Fulen's attention. Having decided to relax for the day, Fulen naturally spent his time in the commercial street of Heink District.
After returning home at night, Fulen reviewed his day's itinerary. Although he had discovered two new places to go, what truly impressed him the most was how wonderful the commercial street was.
While the types of goods had changed significantly, with no mobile phones or computers, items like pocket watches and perfumes were flourishing even more.
No matter what, shopping was indeed people's favorite activity. Even in an era where the electronic economy was developing rapidly, the physical economy remained a force to be reckoned with, and would perhaps never disappear.
Magic performances and learning, along with practicing survival skills, were currently Fulen's most important tasks, though there was a distinction between them. Magic performances had a stronger work nature, while learning was at most employee training. And the escape training with Wilson couldn't be neglected; running was the most important thing.
Only now did Fulen realize a problem: Wilson, that army instructor reeking of a cunning merchant, hadn't told him when he needed to go for training.
However, Fulen still thought it might be that current interest classes didn't have fixed schedules, and he might have been too accustomed to fixed class registrations to adjust his thinking. But thinking of Wilson's quickly moving demeanor, Fulen couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
Happiness is always fleeting, and learning is currently Fulen's most important task. Yes, learning, always learning. Even after escaping to another world, learning remained ever-present, and Fulen seemed to foresee that in the future, learning would still be the main theme of his life.
Fulen weighed his spirituality and checked the time, feeling that he probably couldn't research abilities and learn ancient Feysac simultaneously. So, Fulen decisively chose to learn ancient Feysac.
Beyonder abilities were within him and could be researched at any time, but Beyonder knowledge was not.
Fulen took out an eye-sized "diamond," which was an Astrologer Beyonder characteristic, and also a semi-finished extraordinary materials.
As a Trickmaster, the Sequence before Astrologer, Fulen could reluctantly use this Beyonder characteristic as half an extraordinary materials.
Fulen glanced at the Beyonder characteristic, then went down to the basement. The dim basement appeared even more eerie than it had in the morning.
After tidying up the remnants from the morning's potion preparation, Fulen picked up a bottle of divination essential oil from a nearby shelf, concocted from Lavaz Octopus, Star Crystal, and essential oils.
In the dim basement, a man, a bottle of essential oil, with a strange light on his face, began to laugh heartily.
The laughter made the candle tremble. Soon, the Wind Gust stopped. Fulen no longer used his Wind Gust ability, then went upstairs with a clatter.
Soon, Fulen came back down with a large book. Under the candlelight, Fulen began to slowly read the spells in the book.
In fact, besides their unique abilities, Beyonders generally shared common abilities such as performing ritual magic and crafting charms. Although the bonuses from different Pathways varied, common abilities guaranteed by spirituality could be used by all Beyonders, though their effectiveness was not always certain.
For example, even if a Warrior reached Sequence 5, it would be very difficult to obtain accurate answers through divination. Of course, after reaching demigod status, things would be different. A demigod has already become knowledge itself; even if they are not skilled in certain areas, with the help of divinity, they can still achieve many things others find unimaginable.
The spells Fulen was currently writing were not so much the elemental magic or evocation magic he had seen before, but rather variations of ritual magic.
Ritual magic could achieve desired effects by praying to different beings. Praying to deities could grant abilities possessed by the deities, while praying to oneself could grant abilities one already possessed, but still awkwardly wished to pray for.
Of course, under the Abraham Family's research, ritual magic could actually allow one to achieve common abilities that they could normally perform but lacked sufficient spirituality for.
The magic array Fulen drew was similar to ritual magic but significantly different. This array was specifically prepared for an Abraham Trickmaster who wished to cast an Astrologer's astrology spell.
Although ritual magic sounds simple, with one array per spell, it's easy to master one or two, but mastering many would be impossible to remember, not to mention that ritual magic is also quite expensive.
Fulen's divination array was a circle with various mystical symbols drawn inside: a Door, an Apprentice, Divination, the Spirit World, and several specially drawn circles.
Placing the Beyonder characteristic in a small box, Fulen then put the box in one circle. Simultaneously, Fulen placed a tripod in another circle, then set a crystal ball on it.
The array in front of him had three more circles. Fulen exhaled and placed an empty plate in one circle. This empty plate needed to contain materials rich in spirituality. Frankly, if Fulen didn't mind, he could completely use a bit of his own blood, and if he were truly poor, that might be a possibility. But currently, Fulen wasn't worried about materials at all.
Fulen took out some Beyonder materials rich in spirituality. If Kvedo hadn't once hired someone to deliver some items, Fulen wouldn't have been able to collect any Beyonder materials, as he had visited the Extraordinary Bazaar but hadn't bought any Beyonder materials.
Along with the Beyonder materials came a letter. Kvedo specifically instructed him not to reply, to prevent Fulen from receiving threats. Fulen felt truly warm-hearted, as the first friend he had made was someone who could truly become his closest confidant.
The remaining two circles were close to Fulen, each holding a candle. Fulen adjusted his spiritual state, preparing to begin the ritual magic.
"I, in my name."
Fulen's spirituality encompassed both the Beyonder characteristic and the candles.
"Oh, blood of Lavaz Octopus, containing the mysteries of the future. Oh, Star Crystal, reflecting the appearance of the Cosmos."
"In my name, Astrologer, answer my call, reveal to me the visions of the future I seek."
At the same time, Fulen dripped the divination essential oil onto the candle symbolizing himself. Instantly, the basement was dyed the color of the Cosmos, with stars twinkling against a dark background.
Fulen's spirituality completely enveloped the entire array. Spirituality circulated within the array, silently flowing towards the Spirit World. The ritual was successful.
