Chapter 62 - Transition

In Fulen's villa, only one room had candles lit.

Fulen blew on the wax-sealed envelope, felt the uneven marks on the wax, then suddenly looked up at the lit candles and muttered to himself, "Next, I'll cancel the gathering I was planning to attend at the Flame-Axe Tavern. Hmm, I'll go when I'm Sequence 8, no, Sequence 7. If Sam, the owner of that tavern, also wants to earn money from the Demoness Sect, then I'll be in danger."

"Now..." Fulen could no longer maintain his composure. His face fell, and he opened the study door at his most comfortable speed, rushing down to the room in his house containing herbs and other items. After writing the letter and relaxing, his body also cooperated by conveying the message that his wounds were very painful.

Under extreme tension, the pain from Fulen's wounds seemed to be suppressed, but once Fulen was no longer worried, he could no longer bear it.

In this world, herbs are just herbs, so, except for those Beyonder herbs or Beyonder materials placed in the basement, the herbs needed for injuries were all placed in a room in the villa, thus shortening the time Fulen had to endure the pain.

As soon as Fulen arrived at the herb room, he was dumbfounded. There were no ready-made, pre-mixed ointments in the herb room, and there was only one candle in the room.

If someone were to pass by the herb room and look inside, they would surely be scared out of their wits. Under the flickering candlelight, a pale face contorted in pain appeared, alternately bright and dim. Fulen thought to himself that he didn't need a makeup artist; he could go directly to a haunted house to scare people.

The 'ghost' in the herb room sighed, put down the candle, and then rushed out of the room. Fulen casually searched the surrounding rooms for four or five candles, lit them all, and then walked towards the bookshelf directly opposite the herb rack, where several books were placed.

After casually searching for a prescription, Fulen looked at the dosage and names, and with the same vigor he used for experiments in his previous life, he took out the ingredients step by step and prepared an ointment. Fortunately, ointments for sprains and bruises were the simplest, and Fulen didn't take long to prepare one.

Looking at the black ointment, Fulen felt it was a bit unreliable, but then he thought of himself as an excellent talent from twelve years of compulsory education, so he mustered his courage and applied the ointment he had prepared.

"Hiss." Fulen swayed when the ointment touched his wound, but then he remembered that he had the same feeling when spraying Yunnan Baiyao on external injuries before, so he relaxed.

Fulen checked the time and was surprised to find it was already half past ten. He had spent an hour and a half just treating his wounds. Thinking that he had nothing urgent to do, he looked at the instructions for the medicine he had prepared. After feeling reassured, he fell into a deep sleep.

In the following days, Fulen once again returned to a three-point-line life: eating, studying, and sleeping. Of course, he occasionally went out to watch a circus, magic show, or play, or even a recently released movie, which kept Fulen's life from being too boring.

Fulen leaned heavily on the soft sofa. Without the previous pain, Fulen sighed with relief. Fulen loved to lean heavily on the sofa, but unfortunately, due to abrasions on his back, Fulen's hobby had been interrupted for many days.

In fact, the first time Fulen leaned on the back of the sofa after being injured, he felt deep pain, which even caused him a slight psychological shadow for a short period. However, it was fine now; the injury was gone, and his hobby had returned.

Fulen flexed his fingers, recalling what he had done in the past half month.

First, of course, after he finished writing the letter, Kvedo naturally guessed what had happened to Fulen. So, Kvedo also cooperatively temporarily forgot that he had a friend from the Abraham Family, which allowed Fulen to have complete peace and quiet.

Besides the pursuit by the Demoness Sect, the most important thing was the digestion of the Sequence 9 potion. This was also the main reason why Fulen re-developed a love for learning in this world. The results were very pleasing; just yesterday, Fulen felt a sound like shattering stars within his body, and corresponding to this, Fulen felt an unprecedented ability to fully control his Apprentice potion.

The improvement of the Apprentice potion mainly gave Fulen the ability to travel freely even without the Angel's Gate, which meant that no matter whether it was walls, doors, or other things blocking Fulen's path, they could no longer trap Fulen.

"Hahaha, let's see what else can stop my wild steps!" Fulen thought wildly to himself.

It's no wonder Fulen saw that the Angel's Gate, which seemed so powerful in his eyes, was not used by anyone, because that paper was truly useless. For an Abraham who had fully digested the Apprentice potion, this item was dispensable. At most, keeping it would remind the Abrahams of their ancestor's name.

Speaking of the Angel's Gate, Fulen's heart immediately bled. That's right, the paper with the autograph of his family's fallen ancestor completely disappeared from the world after one traversal.

"Didn't they say it was indestructible? The things left by the ancestor aren't very reliable after all," Fulen scratched his head, thinking annoyedly.

Although it was said that the paper was indestructible, the tester who left that remark actually only meant to express that the paper would not age or disappear over time, not that a stubborn person should take a greatsword and hack at it. After all, even though the Abrahams were sure that the paper had miraculous properties, they wouldn't forcefully destroy something without Beyonder characteristics. Ultimately, this was also a testament left by the Abrahams to remember their past glory.

Of course, if Fulen's ancestors saw a descendant using their ancestor's note as a shield and luckily saving his own life, they wouldn't know whether to be angry or happy.

"They should be happy, after all, it's a living person," Fulen nodded to himself, thinking affirmingly.

As for why a paper without Beyonder power had such miraculous functions, although Fulen was not very sure, he had a guess in his heart.

The 'Gabriel' on that paper should be the owner of the Beyonder characteristic within the Sealed Artifact now called the ancestor staff, and later called the Star Staff by Klein, a genuine Angel. Even if an Angel's name is written down, that item would possess terrifying power, of course, this is when the Angel is alive. After the Angel dies, it makes sense that a paper with their name personally written on it would also have miraculous power.

However, Fulen still felt very regretful.
