Chapter 41 - Process

After Erich finished speaking, he paused, then continued, "I am not the only one who has come this time; Kvedo and his good friend, Mr. Fulen, are also here. You and Kvedo should have quite a close relationship, shouldn't you?"

At this moment, the young man seemed to have just noticed Kvedo, and said in a tone that had cooled down a bit but still showed enthusiasm, "Ah, Kvedo, I'm sorry, I was just too excited to see Mr. Erich. Please forgive my rare excitement. Likewise, I welcome your arrival."

Then, this seemingly arrogant and aloof young man finally returned to his original demeanor. He nodded to Fulen and said in a clearly original, cool and polite tone, "You are also welcome, Mr. Fulen. Since you are Kvedo's good friend, then your knowledge is obviously something I admire. Welcome to you."

After speaking, although the young man still wanted to talk to Erich, he finally remembered that he also had to host the philosophy salon. So he merely gestured for Erich, Kvedo, and Fulen to take their seats, then returned to the main seat himself.

Although Erich and the host young man had a good relationship, it was clear that the host was not the kind of person who would act recklessly for personal reasons. He did not forcefully drive away the people in the front row to make Erich sit, so Kvedo, Erich, and Fulen were able to sit at the same table.

Fulen did not say much while the young man was speaking, nor did he care that the young man's tone was not very polite. No, he was quite polite, and his manners were impeccable, but his cold language and obviously cold attitude could easily make someone feel resentful.

During this process, Kvedo's expression was actually still a bit stiff. He only relaxed when the young man greeted him, and after the young man left, his expression was clearly stiff again, but he didn't say much.

After Fulen and the others were seated, Kvedo looked around to make sure his words wouldn't be overheard by others. His expression suddenly softened, and then he complained to Fulen, "Oh my goodness, what's wrong with Karl? Wasn't he on good terms with me before? How come as soon as he met Erich, he's so good to him and so cold to me? Do you have some strange magic?"

Kvedo's last sentence was directed at Erich, and when Erich heard Kvedo's words, his face didn't change even a bit. He merely glanced at Kvedo, not even speaking, and when Kvedo saw Erich's gaze, he could only say with a smile, "Oh, brother, don't be angry, it's my fault, hehe."

Then he turned to Fulen and said, "The person hosting this philosophy salon was originally my good friend, and now he is, well, this guy's close friend," Kvedo indicated Erich, then continued, "Tsk tsk, they've only known each other two or three times, how could it be like this? Is it same-sex attraction? That's not right."

Erich's gaze was so cold it seemed capable of freezing the rambling Kvedo to death. Kvedo shivered cooperatively, then made a 'help me' gesture, which made Erich feel as if this person was a fool, so he stopped staring at him and continued to be a listener.

Kvedo chuckled and continued, "Karl, you heard what I called him, right? Hehe, his full name is Karl Green. That's right, he's Green of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Ah, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were my dream back then. I never thought I'd actually get to meet their descendants. It's like touching a legend."

"However," Kvedo sighed, "Karl wasn't lucky enough to inherit his father's position and follow Emperor Rosell. I originally wanted to inquire about Mr. Rosell's glorious deeds, and even wanted to shamelessly ask Karl to recommend me to Emperor Rosell, but I didn't expect... However, Emperor Rosell was definitely not bad to Karl. Karl is now a Viscount with tens of millions in assets, hehe."

After listening, Fulen could only agree, "It seems Mr. Rosell is quite caring towards Karl."

Kvedo nodded in deep agreement and said, "Yes, when Mr. Green died, Karl had just been born. As soon as Emperor Rosell returned, he gave half of his own assets to Mr. Green's widow. And after Mr. Rosell took power, he ennobled Mr. Green and the other Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and granted them land, even giving them even greater wealth. Emperor Rosell is truly admirable."

Only then did Fulen feel that Rosell was truly very loyal. Many people speak kindly when planning together, but once they are no longer needed for a long time, they are discarded like rags. To achieve great things and not forget his subordinates, Fulen now truly understood the magnanimity of this 'transmigrator' whom he actually knew nothing about.

Recalling the various sordid dealings he had seen in historical records, Fulen answered Kvedo from the bottom of his heart, "Yes, Emperor Rosell's magnanimity is truly very rare."

Upon hearing that he had successfully introduced Emperor Rosell to his good friend, Kvedo said somewhat excitedly, "Right? Right? Besides this, Emperor Rosell has many other virtues..."

Fulen originally thought he was about to listen to this fervent fan continuously introduce his idol, but then a series of chimes rang out in the not-too-large room. When Kvedo heard the chimes, he could only reluctantly stop speaking, and then immediately seemed to recall the grandeur of the philosophy salon, so he was no longer so depressed, and an expression of anticipation appeared on his face.

After a series of quiet but exceptionally clear chimes, Karl stood up, looked around, and after confirming that everyone had met his gaze, he cleared his throat twice, moistened it slightly, and then spoke in a tone and demeanor completely different from ordinary Intis Language: "Welcome, everyone, to the philosophy salon I am hosting. You know I am not one to waste words, so let us begin today's salon."

Fortunately, Fulen had received a noble education in his childhood. He understood that the language Karl spoke was still Intis Language, but it was the unique Intis Language of the nobles of Trier, quite different from normal Intis Language.

And just as the host finished his opening remarks, some cafe waiters successively delivered coffee, fruit, and cake to everyone's tables, and during this time, Karl did not stop, preventing the atmosphere from becoming too awkward.

On the contrary, Karl began to recite some well-known philosophical passages in an Intis aristocratic accent. Fulen often encountered these passages when reading, and they were also considered fundamental in books. Thus, under the host's cool-toned recitation, the salon slowly drew back its curtain.
