Chapter 12 - CLEARING THE CITY (PART TWO)

CHAPTER 12: CLEARING THE CITY (PART TWO)

I walked out of the bar looking like I'd crawled through hell and dragged it outside with me.

My clothes hung in scorched strips from my body, fabric torn and burned beyond saving. Soot smeared my face and arms, clinging to my skin like ash after a firestorm. My hair was a mess—smoke-stained, windswept, and stiff with dried blood that wasn't mine.

Anyone looking at me would've thought I'd survived a bombing.

Which, technically, wasn't wrong.

System, didn't you say the explosion from the grenades wouldn't affect me?

[I said the grenades wouldn't affect the host's body due to your current defense. I made no statement regarding your clothing. However, high-defense apparel is available in the System Shop.]

You never miss a chance to advertise. You just want me to spend my points.

[The System merely ensures the host's survival and optimal efficiency.]

I snorted and kept walking.

The second vampire den was finished. Reduced to ashes, broken bodies, and lingering fear. Compared to the first one, it had been almost disappointingly easy. The oldest vampire there was barely two hundred years old, and most of the others hadn't even crossed thirty.

Bottom-tier trash.

They weren't the real problem. Just foot soldiers. Cannon fodder clinging to borrowed immortality and cheap power.

But now that I'd started, I knew one thing for sure—this wouldn't go unanswered.

Sooner or later, the higher-ranked vampires would come looking for me. But I will go after them before they come after me.

Show me my rewards.

[Ding.]

[Mission: Exterminate the Vampire Den

Status: Complete]

[Rewards:

– 10,000 System Points

[Ding.]

[New Mission Available:

Clean Up – Eliminate all the vampire present in the city

Reward: ?????]

I stopped walking.

System… what about the good vampires?

I don't mind killing monsters, but I won't slaughter those who don't harm humans.

[Ding.]

[Mission Updated.]

[Clean Up – Eliminate vampires you personally deem evil.]

[Sub-Mission: Make yourself known and feared.]

[Time Limit: 48 Hours]

[Reward: ?????]

[Ding.]

[Achievement Unlocked:

Mass Extermination – Kill 50 supernatural entities within one week.]

[Kill Count: 73 / 50]

[Reward: Predator Insight]

I froze.

Whoa… that's perfect.

[Predator Insight allows the host to instantly analyze the feeding method of any supernatural within range. It identifies whether the target feeds on humans directly, consumes artificial blood sources, or relies on magical, ritualistic, or alternative sustenance.]

A slow grin spread across my face.

Now I can tell exactly who preys on humans… and who drinks blood bags.

Even the ones who feed consensually won't slip past me.

Combined with my Aura skill—something that flagged hostile intent like a living alarm—I finally had clarity.

No more guesswork.

No more collateral mistakes.

Only judgment.

Show me my points.

[System Points: 23,133

Stat Points: 320

Skill Points: 100].

I stripped the remains of my clothes off without hesitation. They fell to the pavement like useless rags.

The grenades had done their job perfectly—confirmed vampire-only environment, maximum efficiency—but I hadn't thought about my outfit. I'd been too excited testing my defense.

Lesson learned.

I reached into my inventory and pulled out the trench coat.

Black. Heavy. Perfectly tailored.

System, I thought only items from this universe were available.

[That limitation applies only to the shop. Cross-universal items may be obtained through rewards or sign-in bonuses.]

Nice.

I slipped the coat on, feeling its weight settle naturally around me.

It hasn't even been a week since I arrived here… and I'm already stronger than a five-hundred-year-old vampire.

That thought made my blood burn with anticipation.

Damon's going to try hunting humans eventually at Mystics Falls.

When he does… I'll be waiting.

System—can this coat withstand grenade explosions?

[Yes. It is composed of vibranium.]

I stopped dead.

…What the fuck.

Can I get vibranium ore?

[Negative. Vibranium is obtainable only through rewards or special events.]

Tch.

Fine. Buy me the Lightning skill.

[Purchase Failed.

Requirement: Endurance – 500.]

You're kidding me.

First you sell skills at ridiculous prices, now there's stat limits? You fraud.

[Lightning energy would shred the host's body at current endurance levels. Survival probability unacceptable.]

I exhaled sharply.

Increase my Endurance to 500.

[Ding.]

[Stat Allocation Confirmed.]

[Endurance Threshold Reached: 500

New Skill Unlocked – Magic Immunity (Basic)]

A cool sensation flooded my body, spreading through muscle, bone, and blood. Fatigue vanished. Pain dulled. My heartbeat steadied.

I felt… sharp. Awake. Alive.

Now buy the skill.

[Ding.]

[New Skill Acquired: Lightning Manipulation (Basic)]

The information slammed into my mind.

Control. Output. Precision.

Power waiting to be shaped.

[Lightning Manipulation grants authority over electrical force. The host may generate, shape, and discharge lightning. Damage is highly effective against supernatural entities.]

I raised my hand.

Electricity crackled along my fingers, dancing like living veins of light. I aimed at the ruined bar wall and released it.

The bolt struck with a deafening crack.

Stone vaporized.

…Yeah. That'll do.

24 Hours Later

The bass thumped through my bones as I sat at the bar inside a Northside Syndicate club.

Neon lights. Sweat. Alcohol.

Predators hiding in plain sight.

Every vampire here fed on humans.

Every single one I have seen so far.

I waited. Watched. Marked them.

Patience wasn't my strength—but tonight, I forced it.

A woman slid up beside me. Vampire. Two hundred years old. Confident. Deadly.

"Want to buy me a drink?" she asked.

"Nope."

She blinked.

"You're interesting," she said. "Let me buy you one."

"No."

Her curiosity sharpened. "Why the mask?"

"Anonymity."

I glanced at her.

"Do you prefer guns… or swords?"

She laughed. "Swords. They looks cool. My nam...."

I reached into my inventory and pull out a sword that I had bought from the system. It was just an ordinary sword which means it can break easily, so I was thinking of paying a visit to the Armory on my back to mystic falls. Gotta take that Excalibur sword used in the Legacies series. I might also take that knife that binds Malivore. I decapitated her mid-sentence.

Blood sprayed.

Despite the blood splashing everywhere, none of it touched me and the barrier skill I had bought from the system is useful. It form an invisible barrier around me. It was meant to block physical force below a ton but it is also useful for stopping the bloods that tends to get on me when killing vampires.

Screams followed.

Chaos erupted.

I smiled beneath the mask.

The bartender snarled and lunged. I swung the sword downward and split him in half vertically.

Blood sprayed everywhere

"Now that's messy." I smirked.

Panic set in as more scream sounded and all the human started running towards the exit.

Three vampires started walking towards me, I also moved towards them while looking at the black energy ozzing out of them courtesy of my Aura skill which shows me vampires who kills human for fun and see them as prey.

The vampires started moving at superspeed but they were still slow to me. They were about three hundred years old. One male and two females.

I charged my sword with lightning as I dashed between them at superspeed, they couldn't react at all as their heads fell to the ground but this time no blood spilled as the flesh was cauterized.

I looked up as I heard vampires hissing. About twenty vampires were on the second floor snarling at me. Seven jumped from the second floor but before they hit the ground, I shot seven bolts of lightning at them which pass through their chests and obliterated their hearts. By the time they hit the floor they were dead with gaping holes in their chest and their hearts gones.

The other vampires shrank back. I could feel the fear in the air. They were scared of me. I would be too.

I started climbing the stairs slowly like a villain who was going on a massacre. I am pretty sure that is what I am to them.

One vampire tried to sneak attack me from behind, his hand aimed at my back. I am sure he wants to pull out my heart. I didn't look back as I swung the sword, decapitated him.

Then panic set in among them again. Some of the vampires on the ground floor were moving towards the exit but I didn't bother chasing them as I have put the tier three mountain ash barrier around the club.

The vampires on the second floor tried to rush me. But thanks to my high agility and perception they were moving extremely slow.

I dashed at them as I dodge the first vampire and swung the sword across his chest. The second one lose her head. I love decapitating the head. It is very satisfying.

Within 2 seconds all thirteen vampires was dead and more was coming out of different rooms. I noticed some humans coming out of room so I utilise my agility at it full limit in order to prevent the vampires from taking the humans as hostage.

Four minutes later I had killed all the vampires that prey on humans. There were seven vampires remaining that I didn't kill. These type drinks from blood bags. Three were newly turned. Two were about a hundred years old while, one was about five hundred.

The last one was a female vampire who was about six hundred years. She is leader of the Northside syndicate. I remember seeing her once when John and I went to grab some food.

I pulled her into a room. I threw her on the couch in the room.

"I have some questions for you." I said as I sat across her.

"I won't tell you anything." She growl at me.

System is there any skill that I can use to torture her and break her in a short time. I said to the system.

[Sovereign sensory dominion recommended. Can be used to inflict pain or pleasure to the target. 500 system points.]

Okay Buy it. I said inwardly.

[Confirmed.]

Information surged into my mind about the way to use it and method of activation. I can use it through touch or through gaze. Contact is much faster than my vision.

"We will see about that." I said as I activated the skill. I kept staring at her as she kept her gaze on me also. Three seconds later she gasp and gritted her teeth.

"What did you do to me?" She groaned as she glared at me.

"Nothing just making you feel some pain. The pain will keep growing stronger the longer you keep quiet. Your choice." I said smirking.

"Is this a way to treat a lady. You brute." She snarled.

"Oh sorry but I consider myself a feminist. So enjoy." I smiled beneath my mask.

She stood up and dashed for the window. I know there was a barrier around us and that she won't be able to escape but I have not interest in hide and seek, especially with the sirens I can hear heading our way.

I shot a bolt of lightning at the back of her knee which obliterated her knee cap separating her leg.

"Aargh..." She screamed as she fell to the ground."what the fuck..."

"Your will must be extremely strong, seeing as you still haven't conceded. Well you have lived for six centuries so that's not surprising." I stared coldly at her as she groaned on the floor.

Twenty seconds later, she was already screaming and after a minute had passed.

"Make it stop. I will tell you what you want to know" she screamed out her words.

I stopped the skill. She was breathing heavily as she gazed fearfully at me.

I bought a vial of liquid Blue Calamus (Truth weed) from the system store. Its sole purpose is to make the person who ingest it unable to lie.

"Here drink this." I said handing it over to her.

She looked at me suspiciously. "What is this?"

"Poison" I replied sarcastically."Do you think if I want to hurt you. I will need something like this. Open your mouth." I ordered.

She opened it hesitantly. I poured the content but she didn't swallow it.

"Swallow it" I ordered and she did fearfully.

"Good. Now tell me everything you know about the Strix."

Her eyes widen as she was surprised at me knowing about the Strix.

Twelve minutes later, the woman head toppled down from her shoulders.

I was still diluting the information I just got when I heard the system sound to notify about the completion of the mission but I didn't have time to check my rewards as I could hear the sounds of the police rushing up the stairs.

I pulled out a iron card which has a symbol of the justice scale with a eye on top. Since the system had given me a mission to make myself known and feared, I had created a symbol to represent me.

The vampires that I had let go from my previous extermination, had even given me a name THE ARBITER OF BALANCE or THE APEX PREDATOR. Some even call me the ultimate hunter.

I dropped the card on the body of the dead vampire. I went to the window and jumped out after retrieving the barrier.

I looked back at the club as I walked to a parked bike. It was a stolen bike I had took from a now dead vampire.

This marked my last hunt in this city for now. I had killed all the human feeding vampires I could find and I had completed the system mission.

I had destroyed about 7 den in 24 hours.
