Chapter 12 - Alien Species in the Galaxy

The galaxy is vast, teeming with thousands of sentient species. Humanity is just one among many, and on Nova Prime and beyond, Lian encounters a dizzying variety. Here are 20 of the most common or notable ones he has seen (or will soon encounter). There are countless more, but these stand out in the crowds, markets, and academy grounds.

Veyari

Tall, slender, blue-skinned humanoids with four arms. Graceful, diplomatic, often merchants or scholars.

Korrak

Short, stocky reptilians with thick green scales and powerful tails. Known for strength and loyalty; many work as laborers or guards.

Luminari

Ethereal beings with translucent skin that glows softly. They float slightly above the ground and are natural Qi manipulators.

Threnn

Furry, cat-like humanoids with large round ears and excellent night vision. Agile thieves, scouts, or entertainers.

Dravok

Massive, horned humanoids with gray skin and tusks. Warriors by nature, often mercenaries or arena fighters.

Sylphari

Winged, bird-like species with feathers in bright colors. Masters of aerial combat and flight-based Qi techniques.

Nethari

Insectoid race with chitin armor, compound eyes, and four legs. Hive-minded in some clans; brilliant engineers.

Vorani

Pale, hairless humanoids with elongated skulls and telepathic abilities. Quiet, secretive, often spies or advisors.

Gromek

Rock-like beings with crystalline growths on their skin. Slow-moving but nearly indestructible; miners and builders.

Elyssan

Slender, silver-skinned elves with pointed ears and perfect beauty. Long-lived, arrogant, strong in pure Qi cultivation.

Brutari

Muscular, red-skinned humanoids with bone ridges on their heads. Hot-tempered berserkers who love battle.

Aquilons

Aquatic humanoids with gills and webbed hands. Can breathe water and air; dominate ocean worlds and trade.

Zenthari

Plant-based sentients with vine-like hair and green bark skin. Peaceful healers who bond with nature Qi.

Mechari

Fully cybernetic species—bodies of metal and circuits. Some were born organic and converted; others built. Qi and augs in harmony.

Shadekin

Shadow-like beings that shift between solid and mist. Rare, feared, rumored to serve dark forces

Felynn

Small, fox-like humanoids with multiple tails. Tricksters, fast, and clever with illusion Qi.

Titanor

Giant humanoids—ten to twelve feet tall—with thick hides. Gentle unless provoked; used as heavy lifters or shock troops.

Psyari

Small, big-headed aliens with enormous black eyes. Powerful natural telekinetics and mind readers.

Kraith

Serpent-like with hooded heads and venomous fangs. Cold-blooded, calculating assassins or information brokers.

Aetheri

Energy-based beings that maintain a humanoid shape made of pure light and plasma. Ancient, wise, rarely seen on lower levels.

There are hundreds—maybe thousands—more species scattered across the stars: crystalline collectives, gas-cloud nomads, silicon-based lifeforms, shape-shifters, and stranger things that defy easy description. The galaxy never runs out of new faces, new powers, and new dangers.
