JAY JAY POV
It was the next day — our second performance — and only three more days until school was officially over.
The thought alone made my stomach twist with excitement and dread at the same time.
Keifer picked me up early in the morning, rolling down his window with that stupid grin that always made my heart do something embarrassing.
"How is my wifey doing this early in the morning?" he asked, leaning over to kiss me before I could even buckle my seatbelt.
"Good," I said, trying not to smile too hard as he drove us to school.
We headed straight to the dressing rooms to change.
Mykel was the host again — of course — and standing beside him was Freya.
Me and Freya were… fine now.
Civil.
Normal.
But deep down?
I still think she's a canvas.
Then Mykle called our names.
Again.
The second our names hit the speakers, the cafeteria exploded into cheers like we were some kind of celebrity comeback tour.
I barely stepped forward when a girl from the crowd screamed at the top of her lungs:
"THEM AGAIN?! AFTER YESTERDAY'S PERFORMANCE I CRIED BECAUSE I FELT SO SINGLE!"
Some girl screamed from the crowd like she was filing an emotional damage report.
Felix immediately jumped in.
"WOAH, OUR HUSBAND AND WIFE AGAIN!"
I swear I could hear Keifer smirk beside me.
"COME OUT ALREADY!" Ci‑N yelled, sounding like he was about to storm the stage himself.
Then Calix—
"JAY‑JAY, TRY NOT TO TURN RED AGAIN!"
My soul left my body.
Son of a bitch, Calix. I'm gonna hurt you.
Keifer leaned down, whispering with the most annoying grin, "You did turn red yesterday."
I elbowed him so hard he wheezed.
The crowd kept screaming, the boys kept yelling, and I stood there regretting every life choice that led me to this moment.
But Keifer?
He just laced his fingers with mine and said, "Come on, Wifey. Let's give them a show."
And of course… my face turned red again.
Keifer walked out first, dragging me with him like he was presenting me to the entire world.
He grabbed the mic with that confident, smug aura he always had on stage.
"Hi everyone," he said, voice smooth, "this is our song Minamahal — our love story."
The cafeteria exploded.
People screamed.
I wanted to disappear.
Keifer just smirked like he lived for this.
The principal stepped forward, trying to calm the chaos.
"Let's start, Mr. Watson and Miss Mariano," she said, sounding way too done with us.
Keifer squeezed my hand once, subtle but warm.
"Ready, Wifey?" he whispered.
I took a breath.
"Let's do this."
And we stepped into the spotlight again.
In the middle of the crowded cafeteria, the music began with a soft, melodic rhythm that instantly silenced the cheering students.
Keifer stepped closer to me, his presence grounding me even as the lights felt blinding.
He brought the microphone to his lips, his gaze locked onto mine, and began the first verse.
[Verse 1: Keifer]
His voice was like velvet, carrying a weight of sincerity that made the "wifey" jokes from earlier fade into the background.
It wasn't just a performance anymore; it felt like he was really telling me these things for the first time. As the melody built up, our voices intertwined for the chorus.
[Chorus: Keifer & Jay Jay]
The crowd went wild, but I barely heard them. I was too busy trying to keep my breath steady. Now it was my turn. I took a step toward him, finding my own confidence as I remembered the first time we truly noticed each other.
[Verse 2: Keifer & Jay Jay]
Keifer's grin widened, and he leaned in, adding his harmony to my lines. The chemistry between us was undeniable, radiating off the stage. We went back into the chorus, our voices stronger this time, fueled by the energy of the students waving their phones in the air like flashlights.
[Chorus: Keifer & Jay Jay]
As the bridge approached, the music slowed, becoming more intimate. Keifer reached out, tucking a stray hair behind my ear, his eyes softening in a way that made my heart skip.
[Bridge: Keifer & Jay Jay]
The last line was a promise. I felt the heat rising in my cheeks again, but this time I didn't try to hide it. I looked at him—really looked at him—and realized that despite all the teasing and the chaos of senior year, there was nowhere else I'd rather be.
[Outro: Keifer & Jay Jay]
Nandito lang (Mm)Nandito langMinamahal
The last note lingered in the air before the room erupted into a deafening roar of applause.
Keifer didn't let go of my hand.
He pulled me into a quick, firm hug, whispering against my temple, "Told you we'd give them a show."
I just leaned into him, finally smiling back without any hesitation.
If this was how our school year was ending, maybe the dread I felt earlier wasn't necessary after all.
Because right there, in front of the entire cafeteria, Keifer turned to me with that look — the one that always warned me he was about to do something reckless, stupid, and very, very him.
And before I could even process it…
He kissed me.
A Keifer kiss — confident, warm, and absolutely illegal for my heart rate.
The cafeteria exploded.
Chairs scraped.
People screamed.
And then, of course, Ci‑N's voice cut through the chaos like a megaphone:
"BRO THEY KISSED! I KNEW IT! THEY OFFICIAL!"
The entire Section E table went feral.
Felix slammed his hands on the table. "FINALLY!"
Calix stood up like he was witnessing a wedding. "ABOUT TIME!"
Rory was crying for no reason. "MY SHIP IS REAL!"
I pulled away from Keifer, face burning, heart racing, brain completely fried.
Keifer just smirked, brushing his thumb across my cheek like he hadn't just caused a school‑wide riot.
"Wifey," he whispered, "I think we broke them."
I couldn't help it — I smiled.
A real one.
The kind that sneaks up on you before you can stop it.
The cafeteria was still screaming, Section E was acting like they'd just witnessed a marriage proposal, and Keifer looked like he was two seconds away from kissing me again just to prove a point.
The principal, however?
She looked like she needed a vacation.
She cleared her throat into the mic, eyes wide, voice trembling like she had just watched a telenovela unfold live.
"Umm… nice," she said, blinking rapidly. "Please… next performance."
The crowd howled.
We stepped off the stage, still buzzing from the performance and the chaos it caused.
"Nice performance, Jay!" Mica said, giving me a bright smile.
"Thanks, Mica," I replied, still a little breathless.
Then, like a storm cloud rolling in, Aries appeared.
His eyes locked on Keifer like he was choosing which bone to break first.
"Asshole," Aries said, voice low and dangerous, "why did you kiss my sister?"
Keifer didn't even flinch.
He just shrugged, completely unbothered.
"I missed her lips."
I swear Aries' soul left his body for a second.
He looked seconds away from launching himself at Keifer.
Before Keifer could open his mouth and say something even stupider, I grabbed his wrist.
"Bye, Aries! We have to go!" I said quickly, dragging Keifer away like he was a ticking bomb.
Behind us, Aries yelled, "JAY‑JAY, I'M NOT DONE WITH HIM!"
I ignored him
