Zarek did not hesitate.
"Then we try it," he said.
His voice was calm, but firm. When Zarek made a decision like that, no one argued with him.
Lily studied him carefully.
"You understand the risk," she said. "If the ritual fails..."
"It will not fail," Zarek interrupted.
Maelina sighed and rubbed her face.
"Alright," she muttered. "Since we're all pretending this isn't completely crazy… let's just do it already."
Lily chuckled softly.
"Your temper has not changed, granddaughter."
Maelina rolled her eyes. "Focus, Lily."
Lily nodded and walked closer to the bed where Eliora lay still and silent.
"For this ritual," Lily said, "I will need the combined power of royal seers."
Maelina raised an eyebrow. "Well, you're looking at one." She lifted her hands slightly. "I'm right here."
Lily smiled faintly. "Yes, I know." Then her face grew serious again. "But I am not sure the two of us will be enough."
Maelina crossed her arms.
