Chapter 2 - 2

"Okay..."

I really didn't know why I agreed, pulling my hand out of his soft warm palm.

It was so obvious, how he liked me in that sense… Where will it lead?

For some reason his emerald eyes made my soul tremble…

I mean, he stared at me as at his beloved… I calmed myself down with thoughts: may be nothing bad would happen, but I like him too as interesting person. I would like to spend time with him.

That offer was so tempting…

I said goodbye with a polite smile, going outside under his adoring gaze.

It seemed to me, as I walked to the flight academy campus, that the eyes of this blond continued to look after me. The attention of a rich famous person even flattered…

I felt deep loneliness since…

Left early without parents, I spent part of my childhood in an orphanage with short stays in other people's families. I was recruited a couple of years ago to train as a space pilot using unexpected bankroll from some philanthropic fund.

So I decided to date him until he loses control… however I will reject all his attempts be too close to me.

Yarison waylaid me the next day at a bus stop and, opening the window of an expensive sports car, invited for a ride.

"Follow me?" I said suspiciously, jumping into his car.

"I saw you by chance," the blond smiled mysteriously, smoothing the waves of his well-groomed hair.

"Well, yeah… really?"

"Sorry... is it so obvious?"

"Yes, but I don't mind riding such a nimble horse. I just need that speed right now!"

"Great! Me too! Then let's go out of town and let's drive..."

He somehow guessed that I love breakneck speed and that's why I chose this profession - flying combat aircraft… and in general I adore any engines, even noisy ones, it makes my blood boil and be alive. Falling from the heights of heaven on a wildly roaring fighter and soaring up - all this is very manly-man for me.

We had a lot of fun racing a sports car outside the city and the police didn't stop us even once.

What a lucky chance! I am already pleased with our friendship! Yarison was also immensely happy after the race and treated me to a hearty dinner in an expensive restaurant.

And he never touched me, wishing me good night and dropping me off at the campus.

We continued next days again and again…

But soon my roommates somehow noticed me in his car...

"Deni?" Jamien blurted out sarcastically. "Have you found a sugar daddy?"

"What!? What the hell are you talking about?"

"We saw you and that Yarison in fancy car. Why are you guys riding together all of a sudden?"

"We met..." I snapped out irritably, waving him off. "What's wrong? He is interesting, all-round man... there is something to talk about."

"But why does he need you?" Jamien emphasized. "You are an ordinary guy without any status. Why did he choose you as a friend, and not us, for example?"

"I look like his relative who died a long time ago. That's all!"

"Ah, that is why he been stalking you all the time? Now it's clear why he was in our sight... Well... so what if you look like a his relative? This is not a reason to entertain you."

"What are you thinking?"

"He fell in love with you," Jamien said mockingly.

"You're a fool? He is actually a man!"

"So what? This happens all the time everywhere. A well-groomed, wealthy handsome is looking for a young man who he will use for his pleasure."

"Bullshit! Does he have nothing to do? With such an appearance, he can hook up a million women for free."

"You are so naive! Looks like a relative, you say? A fun reason is to show interest in you."

I snapped back angrily, knowing full well that my friend was right: meetings with the famous journalist were more like dates. We didn't limit ourselves to driving a fast car.

Gourmet treats in expensive restaurants and long walks in private greenhouses, museums, galleries, it seemed that Yarison knew everything about the my taste and aesthetic preferences.

Invitations to closed clubs with an elite atmosphere and performances by talented artists, where pleasant evenings did not fit into one hour and stretched until late at night.

Jamien's insightful remarks deeply touched my ego. Was everything really so obvious? Yarison was courting me and everyone could see it! Damn it! We had to do something about this! But he's so awesome! As friend! Rich, bold, famous.

I understood why I liked him so much, because he lookedso similar one cool character from a popular comic book, which I still adore. Only this cartoon person was a villain, but very attractive and charismatic. It's so funny that he was so similar to him, I used to think men like him didn't exist. However, here he was in front of me, only not a villain but a good one, kind.

He was cheerful, his snow-white smile was so conducive to a fun time. He told so many interesting things and... didn't ask anything from me in return. Nothing at all!
