"Lisa, how old are you?"
Holding a stack of ten-thousand-dollar free chips, Eric followed the alluring secretary towards the casino.
Lisa frowned slightly: "Mr. Cooper, it's not a good habit to casually ask a woman's age."
Then she smiled: "But seeing as you're young and handsome, I'm willing to tell you: 28 years old, single, mother of two children."
"Wow, your figure shows no signs of having given birth; you look just like a 20-year-old girl."
Eric said, a little surprised. This was genuinely not a lie; the young woman in front of him was indeed very alluring and full of charm.
Lisa curved her lips: "I know. Otherwise, how could I be Mr. Kirk Kerkorian's secretary?"
"What do you want to play? Poker, dice, roulette, or slot machines?"
Eric's mind conjured images of the Las Vegas scenes from friends. That was from the fifth season, filmed in the casino city, but he didn't know which casino it was.
"Dice, I guess. Let's see if I can hit the mark every time like Monica."
"Are you a friends fan?"
"Of course, I'm a super fan."
"Then you should definitely try it, because that episode was filmed right here."
"Really?" Eric was a little surprised.
Lisa nodded: "Yes, I tell that to every guest."
Hahahahaha
"I want two ones."
At the gambling table, Eric casually tossed the dice. They rolled around a few times, and finally, one hit and flipped over, simultaneously revealing a 1.
Lisa tilted her head slightly and hummed a rather suggestive note through her nose: "Good luck."
"Next up, two twos."
Eric tossed the dice casually again. After a few rolls, they both flipped to show two pips.
The dealer pushed a stack of chips towards Eric: "Sir, would you like to continue?"
"Of course, let's go for two threes."
Without even looking, he gently tossed the dice. Under everyone's gaze, the dice finally landed on two threes.
OH!
Cheers immediately erupted around them, and Eric himself was quite surprised.
"Am I the God of Gamblers reincarnated? It seems like Hong Kong made a movie called God of Gamblers vs. Las Vegas."
Lisa looked at him with some surprise: "You lucky dog!"
Eric shrugged: "Then let's continue. Two fours, please."
The crowd around them cheered loudly, and under everyone's eager eyes, the dice actually landed on two fours.
At this, the dealer couldn't help but look at him suspiciously, as if to say, "Are you cheating, kid?"
However, Lisa was the big boss's secretary, so someone she brought certainly couldn't be cheating. It could only be attributed to good luck.
Soon, the cheers attracted many people from around, who surrounded Eric and Lisa.
"Sir, would you like to continue?"
Eric looked at Lisa, who nodded without hesitation: "Of course, we're on a roll right now!"
Eric couldn't help but pinch Lisa's delicate chin: "Then I'll listen to you, my girl. What do we want next?"
"Two fives, of course. I think that's what everyone hopes to see."
Five!
Five!
Five!
A group of people all raised their arms and shouted loudly.
Amidst their shouts, Eric tossed the dice. After rolling a few times, they landed on two fives.
Yeah!
Eric felt nothing seeing the result, having already earned 1.1 billion, but the surrounding audience cheered excitedly.
The dealer continued to hand over the dice, and Eric held them in his hand, playing with them: "Do you want to try again?"
Lisa blinked: "One last time, how about two sixes?"
"As you wish, my lady. If you guess correctly, these chips are all yours, consider it a small gift."
Upon hearing this, Lisa immediately became excited. If they won again, the ten thousand in chips would quadruple, becoming a full forty thousand dollars.
Don't assume that just because she was Kirk Kerkorian's secretary, she was raking in money daily; that was a misconception.
Because Kirk Kerkorian had a total of six such secretaries like Lisa, each responsible for a simple task.
The real head secretary was someone else, and the role of a lover wouldn't fall to her. A big shot like Kirk Kerkorian wouldn't arrange his lover in the company; only the most foolish person would make such a decision.
So, forty thousand dollars was already equivalent to half a year of her income.
The dice spun continuously under everyone's gaze. After several collisions, they finally landed on twelve points.
Instantly, Lisa threw herself into Eric's embrace, her hands around his neck.
Whispers sounded in Eric's ear.
"Come with me, I feel like my body is about to burn."
"Your place?"
"No, I can't wait that long!"
After instructing the dealer to cash out the chips, the two walked into the restroom, one after the other, indulging unrestrainedly – this was the eternal theme of Las Vegas.
Amidst the surprised and envious gazes of those around him, Eric walked out of the restroom feeling refreshed.
He wasn't interested in gambling further. Accompanied by Lisa, he went to the theater to watch an opera; Don Juan was currently being performed.
However, the opera was almost over, and there was still no news from his father.
"Could it be that they didn't reach an agreement?"
The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became. Eric suddenly grabbed Lisa's hand and rushed to the restroom again.
"I'm very hot-headed!"
Inside the opera house, the two, drenched in sweat, suddenly had a jolt.
"My phone, it's the boss. He wants to invite you two to dinner. It seems there's a result from the discussion between your father and him."
"I hope so! Hmph!"
On the plane, Harry Cooper was full of smiles: "I told you, Kirk Kerkorian has no interest in movies. The only thing he cares about is the MGM hotel business."
"Plus, we've known each other for over ten years, so the process was very smooth. He only made one condition."
"What condition?"
"If we decide to sell MGM, he has the right of first refusal. I agreed."
Eric nodded to himself. It seemed Kirk Kerkorian wasn't optimistic about his father managing MGM well. But thinking about it, it made sense; his father had been an executive for so many years, and MGM was still half-dead.
In Kirk Kerkorian's view, his father and he probably conned some rich fool into getting financing. But it didn't matter; it wouldn't be long before MGM returned to his hands, continuing to serve as a money-laundering tool.
"But I also made one condition: 2.8 billion dollars paid in two installments. 2 billion first, and the remaining 800 million dollars paid within two years. This is the startup capital."
Eric laughed: "Although it smells a bit like financial fraud, I'll make sure the bank and Kirk Kerkorian don't get that opportunity."
